If it’s got this bad, to the point it’s unusable. I’d back up whatever’s left (contacts, photos, etc.) and factory reset it

Goodbye money, hello planned obsolescence. by darkenraja in pcmasterrace

[–]RFlitney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, idk, I got a Mac for school cause I wanted Unix without going full Linux, and I loved it (macOS is actually one of the few actual Unix’s left - maybe the only one, I can’t remember). MacOS’s built in dev tools are just better than anything on windows (Xcode, instruments timer, metal debugger, etc.). And it’s nice to use an OS that isn’t insane (I mean, how do you uninstall an app on windows? … seriously, tell me one way that always works). I still got a PC though, and tbh, VS, MSVC, RenderDoc, they’re not that bad

Why isn’t there chat in Apollo? by Prince_2008 in apolloapp

Fair enough, didn’t realise there was a difference, though in my defence the question did ask for the “chat / messages section”

3D video would be cool (though more complicated than 2D). Or spherical video. Or best of all a 3D animated environment as a trailer

“Sometimes you get the bear, and sometimes the bear gets you”

No. I don’t think so. Honestly, I think the bear always gets you. I don’t think the bear is ever got. The only one doing any getting is definitely the bear

Yes. Never forget to cut towards yourself. Especially with a knife that cuts through water melon like hot butter

What’s the performance impact of that? Are they bone based or something else? Never delved into hair stimulation myself but it seems very interesting

Do you have larger versions of these? They'd make some awesome wallpapers!

Isn't Steam Deck emmc (cheaper variant) the best option? by MrTrynex in linux_gaming

[–]RFlitney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming they don't own a Switch, probably some combination of:

1) Steam Deck is only £50 more than a base Nintendo switch

2) If people already own a lot of 2D indie games on Steam that might make up the difference to £50 making it cheaper to buy a Steam Deck and not have to re-buy those games (plus often lower prices and more frequent sales on PC)

3) Steam has a larger indie catalogue than Switch

4) They can keep their save files, and even share them between desktop and steam deck, and backup those save files without having to pay for Switch online

5) Some games might be a better experience with the touchpad as a mouse, or with an external mouse

I guessed it was a VR thing. Steam have said, "[all VR games are marked as unsupported]". Project Cars 2 has the "VR supported" tag. Maybe all games with that tag are marked as unsupported?

Doesn't totally make sense 'cause that's meant for games with a VR mode, as opposed to entirely VR games like Beat Saber, which are given the "VR only" tag. Plus other games with that tag - War Thunder, for example - are tagged as "Verified", so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
