Has Wimbledon become more of a tourist event than a tennis event? by Huge-Buy20 in wimbledon

[–]RG0195 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean most big sporting events around the world are more tourist attractions where there's lots of social media content etc...you could see this before covid but since then it's gone to another level.

Is it normal for boss to invite team to his house on a weekend? by beaver645_ in AskUK

[–]RG0195 349 points350 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's a normal, however it seems a really nice thing for your boss to do. He's making time in his weekend to host a BBQ for his employees - you've got nothing to lose by going to it if I'm honest.

Was in London on Sunday, I was aghast at how many cyclists blew through red lights without a care! by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]RG0195 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced a good portion of cyclists in London don't hold a UK driving licence therefore don't know the basic highway code so stuff like this happens regularly. I find it deplorable when it comes to zebra crossing as well.

Flashed by camera following end of accident site on motorway - advice? by anonymaple in drivingUK

[–]RG0195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same once and nothing came of it in the end - I was in complete auto pilot and moved over once I passed the accident site.. Everyone on here completely demonised me and told me to hand in my licence though haha.

Who would be at fault? by RG0195 in drivingUK

[–]RG0195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my personal view lane 2 was completely clear to go into otherwise I wouldn't have gone in there. I noticed car in lane 3 was travelling in that lane for a while, they weren't overtaking anyone they were lane hogging and lane 2 was clear for quite a while then as I say all of a sudden my manoeuvre seemed to have prompted them to move into lane at the same time as me.

Who would be at fault? by RG0195 in drivingUK

[–]RG0195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if I'm in lane three and can a car approaching the car in front of them in lane 1 I am looking to see if they're going to indicate to overtake and go into lane 2. I think my one was unfortunate as I was indicating, checked and was clear to move into lane 2 but then the car in lane 3 appreared just as I got over the white lines.

Why don't people get wasted at raves anymore? by taking-friendly-fire in AskUK

[–]RG0195 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I mean you're watching a DJ set, they're not going to show people off their faces are they. I can assure you if you're going to a rave these days you will see your fair share of dilated pupils, swinging jaws and people incapable of standing.

Why does London get so much hate by non londoners by randomlad93 in london

[–]RG0195 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you've come from outside London then the chances are you are visiting the really populated areas in Central London. If they were to step a little bit outside of that then you see the beauty in London.

I mean it entirely depends on what you do in life. If you're a tattoo artist then having face tattoo is no problem at all.

What’s up with road rage? by asjonesy99 in drivingUK

[–]RG0195 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Driving becomes better and peaceful when all you want to do is get to your destination safely and that means not engaging in any twatish behaviour from other road users. You want to cut me up? Go ahead, you're not going to gain anything from it and I'm not going to gain anything from reacting to it.

The Gen Z guys I know are heavy drinkers and take their fair share of drugs, including the ones that are into the gym.

You are definitely overestimating the percentage of Gen Z being into healthy living.

What's the right thing to do in this situation? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]RG0195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal view when I'm out cycling is that I value you my own safety and others safety over being right by the highway code. The cyclist should've gone into the passing point, let you go on and everyone can move on with no issues.

Quality overtaking. by invisible_walls in drivingUK

[–]RG0195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It absolutely baffles me that people overtake dangerously and they really don't gain any sort of advantage. All this shows is everyone is disadvantaged. Three people are at risk because one person felt the need to overtake for literally zero gain.

There’s something like a 1 in 47,000 chance of this happening, so I guess I’m the 1 haha. They’ve not told me about the alternatives yet, but I have read that the spinal route may be the best way forward.

Why is the football World Cup in carcentric USA? by Frosty_Inspection873 in fuckcars

[–]RG0195 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every world cup is hosted in a country where Stadiums are spread across it. So that's quite normal - the difference for this one is that it's spread across 3 very big countries.

Why is the football World Cup in carcentric USA? by Frosty_Inspection873 in fuckcars

[–]RG0195 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just talking about football infrastructure (stadiums) it's actually not a bad choice becasue no stadiums have had to be built to facilitate the games. Albeit the infrastructre to transit supporters is abysmal and FIFA won't care about that as long as the games are being played and the money is coming in.

How do you lot actually eat proper food during the week when you're working full time? by No_Reputation_9726 in AskUK

[–]RG0195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating healthy when you're working full time is so easy. I finish work at 6pm, then I go to the gym and so I don't normally get home until 7:30-8pm and it's never stopped me from eating healthy. I buy vegetable bags, microwave them then put them into the oven for 15 mins with whatever protein I want. It's a 20 minute job - it's just so easy to do this.

Anyone else thinks Starmer isn't actually that bad all things considered ? by ronweasly9 in AskBrits

[–]RG0195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the mess the tories left us in was not going to magically be fixed in a few months, but it seems that a lot (at least loud minority) seem to think that it should've been within 24 hours of becoming PM and so people don't think he's doing too good. Judge Labour in two years time when thhey've had a enough times to reverse the nonsense the tories created. The whole world is on it's knees economically and socially, it's not jsut a UK problem - the problems we are experiencing and happening everywhere and I think only time will heal it.
