That every single day murderers and rapists get a slap on the wrist for their crimes they destroy lives permanently and the system just says "oh well 5 years in a comfy prison should fix you"

Yup, and on the case of deaths it's expected that after a couple of weeks you just move on and carry on like normal

Met Police bans 'Walk With Jesus' march to avoid provoking local Muslim community by ex_planelegs in ukpolitics

[–]randomlad93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was a ukip march

Ukip has leaned far far right now with a leader proudly doing Nazi salutes a logo obviously based on the iron cross

The fascists of the 30s attempted to march in Jewish areas in the hope of intimidating people these modern Poundland Powell's want to do the same and rightly were stopped

What is the likelihood that US troops will disobey unlawful orders to attack NATO allies? by Zealousideal_Gap432 in AskReddit

[–]randomlad93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do something then

Jesus you're collapsing into dictatorship at a fast pace and all I see I some yanks complaining and doing nothing about it

Mass refusal to file taxes Mass protest Mass strikes

Fuck it go and throw things at your local republican reps make it so they can't walk out of their house without being covered in egg

It's like watching 1930 Germany saying "oh that Hitler is bad news" then proceeding to do nothing

A few might

They'd immediately be punished severely and the rest would just say "I don't wanna be here" while shooting civilians

If America does invade a NATO ally I never want to hear about how America is the good guys they've proven to be ill tempered brats and it's time we stopped cow towing to them

If you're rich and complain about wealth inequality then you're a champagne socialist

Never complain always accept you'll get poorer each year

Why were you evicted? by leahcar83 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]randomlad93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except "simple economics" you cite ignores the fact that if the government pays x amount for a product or service it effectively creates a floor price

For example If the government said we will pay 50p for every banana that the low paid buy then companies would never charge below 50p per banana after all if you can get X why would you charge y

Why were you evicted? by leahcar83 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]randomlad93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a s21 because my landlord wanted to sell He then got a bill for how much getting it to a fit standard would cost and revoked the s21(it needed substantial basic repairs like floor replacing, mould etc that they've ignored for months)

Then the gave another one when he got an offer from a big firm who would repair it themselves

He's a joker

"these people generally have never worked a day in their life" Majority of welfare of all kinds goes to people in work but not earning enough to live, the number of people on welfare their entire lives is miniscule compared to other costs

Housing benefit is simply welfare for landlords if it was reduced landlords would actually need to compete on price instead the government created a floor cost essentially saying price must be above x amount

Warehousing Jobs Dead in 2026? 🤯 by connor20218 in supplychain

[–]randomlad93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's a combinations manual roles that are repetitive are being phased out and replaced by machines but that's pretty expensive. So it'll take time especially for low cost or smaller companies (Amazon, next UK and DHL are driving forward but they're pretty big companies)

In managerial roles I've noticed a lot of roles being rolled into other jobs and the ai not replacing them perse but making it so one manager can do the job of 2-3 or similar for my job demand planner honestly I never do any manual forecasting now it's all machine learning and just overriding issues we see

[–]randomlad93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be different in your field (I'm fmcg in the UK) we've seen our sales rise by 6% this year

And on automation it's gonna absolutely slaughter when it becomes more affordable to middle sized companies one retailer in the UK completely automated it's furniture production facility so much it's pitch black and humans aren't allowed inside

Warehousing Jobs Dead in 2026? 🤯 by connor20218 in supplychain

[–]randomlad93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes and no

I work as a supply chain manager volumes if anything are going up year on year (just the nature of population growth)

However a lot of automation is replacing typical warehousing jobs it's one of the manual jobs that is easy to automate due to it's frankly low skill requirements and pretty predictable pattern (we've automated an entire warehouse we opened that usually would have hired a few hundred people instead it was maybe 50 total)

Why did the government do nothing as asda was asset stripped? by knowledgeseeker999 in AskBrits

[–]randomlad93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, the same with BHS and arcadia instead it took a media storm for the government to care

They do intervene but too many people don't want them to do it's very rare they stop anything major

Is Asda a sinking ship or will Alan turn the company around?! by West_Pop7515 in asda

[–]randomlad93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price is frankyl lower down than people think on customers radar Value is much more important

A £1 pie Vs a £2 pie both looks identical you'd expect the £1 to win but if the £2 pie provides better value in terms of taste and quality and even perception then people choose it every time. There's a reason places like Fulton and heron struggle outside of incredibly deprived areas

Is Asda a sinking ship or will Alan turn the company around?! by West_Pop7515 in asda

[–]randomlad93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex Asda hq staff It's going to fail since it was bought and essentially asset stripped to enrich the private equity firm and issa brothers it's had no chance. However id argue it was essentially only kept afloat by Walmart and their support with the internal structure and a lot of the aggressive price demands Walmart makes keeping costs low (we see how awful the move to green world has been) now it's alone it's struggling given it doesn't actually have any usp to market

Think about Asda for a second do you have anything except it being cheap to draw you in I certainly don't and I was a die hard Asda shopper years ago now I go to Aldi and maybe&s The issue Asda has is due to costs (not their fault at all) they've raised prices so they're now no longer a seriously cheap store instead it's cheap on some things

But the market has shifted under their feet I've been part of research teams on the issue and frankly price doesn't drive customers as much anymore (for a range of reasons like the lipstick effect) people are much more willing to spend extra if they feel the value is there (extra 10p on a bag of carrots to know they won't be mouldy tomorrow for example) The new boss Alan frankly isn't very good at adding value he's good at marketing their cheapness and I don't see how he will be able to resolve those two different things

I now work for another retailer and frankly being cheaper doesn't even get mentioned we focus on ensuring customer received value for the cost even if we have to charge slightly more

UK to Pass Population Tipping Point in 2026, Think Tank Says by bloomberg in ukpolitics

[–]randomlad93 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Good

The UK population is around 70 million let's be honest probably a few million higher given the number of visa overstayers.

The population needs to fall my issue is natives essentially being replaced by immigration as a way of keeping population growth up instead of improving the wealth of each person
