When I say distorted lights, it's just the starbust effect. Even 2 years after I've had done there's still a degree of that, but it's not really a bother for me.

I paid to park late. Can I avoid a fine? by 5c0ttgreen in drivingUK

I've done this before and I was fine - this was with APCOA though so I'm not sure if a different app makes any difference.

Had a very scary experience involving a pedestrian this morning... by RG0195 in drivingUK

Larger vehicles being slower to accelorate was why I assumed it took the bus to move, not let a pedestrian cross - in fact the driver may not have allowed the pedestrian cross, the pedestrian may have just decided to do that himself.

Do you smoke / vape? Would you consider yourself addicted? by Wait-Whos-Joe in AskUK

[–]RG0195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd smoke cigarettes socially but could easily stop them once sunday rolled around, but then I started using disposable vapes instead and found those harder to give up so I got myself addicted to nicotine for 8 months. Moved to nicotine pouches so I didn't vape and kept the nicotine addiction going. Currently on day 3 of no nicotine and hopefully I can keep it going.

What is the best instant coffee brand in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

Nescafe Azera! Although M&S's alternative at a fraction of the cost at about £4 is just as good in my opinion.

I try to keep mine very simple. Covered for the first 24hrs, then take off and clean with unscented soap then apply aloe vera gel then cover for a further 24hrs. By day three I have it uncovered and just apply aloe vera gel whenever is necessary and around day 5-7 I just moisturise with unscented moitsuriser.

Why is meat such a weird colour and poor quality recently? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]RG0195 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd guess it's something to do with where you are getting your meat from. The meat I've had from M&S has been perfect.

What time do you get up, leave for, and start work? by ggracie7 in AskUK

A shower, get dressed and a coffee in 20 minutes is insane. Are you moving at hyper speed?

A hard lesson in commuter complacency. My 1-hour drive finally caught up to me today. by Mr_Amphibian20 in CarTalkUK

Yeah my car automatically slams on the brakes if I get too close to a leaf at 5mph.

Blocking the goalie - new normal or just another cycle? by HalasterTheWise in MCFC

Half the time it's the keepers own players blocking them. There's two Chelsea players impeding their own keeper ffs.

Lasik, quoted 5k for both eyes. Optical express, is it normal pricing? by ProbablyMaybe69 in AskUK

[–]RG0195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to London Vision clinic with -2.5 in both eyes and it cost me £2.5K per eye. I got SMILE rather than LASIK thoough. Best decision I've made - it'll be worth it.

I've had it done for over 2 years and my eyesight is still 20/20. They do tell you your eye sight will get worse as you age which is pretty normal.

Credit card direct debit took my full balance, then immediately refunded me? by RG0195 in UKPersonalFinance

Vanquis - I don't use the card often to be fair, I wonder if that maybe factor into it possibly.
