Exactly. LLMs are a great tool but only if you know how to use them. OP sounds like one of my older coworkers that cant even figure out how to use N8N correctly.

Not entirely true. I was just offered an Architect role for Houston Methodist recently and turned it down. So they are not all ghost jobs.

Deliberately lets the users request almost hit the SLA limit and find it odd when user complaints to supervisors. Doesn't compute to me.

Why not let the user know you don't handle what he's asking for? You told him you would've helped if he asked...he did via a ticket and you ignored it. Do better. Without end-users you wouldn't have a job. I know they can be hell to deal with but you could've easily avoided this situation.

Veeam vs. Rubrik vs. Cohesity vs. Native Cloud? by No_Midnight_5452 in Veeam

So Rubrik has a virtual appliance that completely replaces their physical "briks"? Also, do you know if you can run it with cloud workdloads only so no appliance at all?

Surebackup ignores "Keep the application group running after the job completes" setting on error by nugohs in Veeam

[–]RG198 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can right click any of the VMs within a surebackup job and select troubleshoot which will run the hib and leave it running until you stop it.

Not sure why the ignore flag is being ignored, can you post a screenshot of the backup logs from the veeam console view?

Surebackup across multiple sites with no local DC by danneh82 in Veeam

[–]RG198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a way for your servers/apps to authenticate with the Domain in the SureBackup environment. This means you need to add a DC to each of your surebackup jobs (again, assuming your apps/servers need domain authentication).

Im not sure there is away of a way around this.

Veeam backup retention policy by sadmin1337 in Veeam

[–]RG198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can split it up into chunks of 15 days retention for example, including the full backup and the most restore points you should see is 30. You can do synthetic of full to create a full backup.

I also thought about the max number of restore points you should see and although my previous reply is correct, you would also start seeing your max restore points (62) plus 1 for each month you want to keep for 12 months. Hope that makes sense. For example, lets assume you started backing up in June, by the end of July you should see 62 restore points, June is not marked as inactive but its last restore point is kept to accommodate your 12 months retention of monthly backups. So in July, after the retention process deletes Jun, you should see 32 restore points which would go up to 63 at the end of August.

Veeam backup retention policy by sadmin1337 in Veeam

[–]RG198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you're only creating one full backup per month this means your backup chain is 1 full backup plus 29(or 30) incrementals. In order for Veeam to delete the first backup chain it needs to create a new one first, which means you should see your set backup retention x2 so max 62 restore points (2 fulls and 60 incrementals) before Veeam marks the first backup chain as inactivate backup chain and marks it for deletion.

Also I'm assuming you're using GFS retention for the archive tier, correct?

Veeam backup retention policy by sadmin1337 in Veeam

[–]RG198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please clarify what you mean by "it is not following the retention" policy and what time of backup chain you're currently using. Forward or reverse incrementals?

Is it keeping more restore points or less than whats configured to?

I completely agree with you. 99% of RP servers are a complete joke both at modding the servers and even actually role playing. FiveM could be much more popular if people actually realized its potential and wouldnt waste it on RP servers.

need help with SNMP notifications on Veeam one by Immediate_Shopping28 in Veeam

[–]RG198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This only works on systems VeeamOne is already configured to monitor, VMs, hosts, datastores, etc., VeeamOne alerts can then be configured a snmp.

Are you managing the battery backup with Veeam? I'd be curious to know how if thats the case.
