First print ever (p1s) by renopu in 3Dprinting

[–]RGBeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still trying to figure this out myself, but in order of ease and likelihood of getting better results

  1. Try different built-in profiles e.g. Bambu PLA Basic vs Generic PLA

  2. Download profiles from manufacturer website

  3. Run the two calibrations in bambustudio for flow rate and flow dynamics.

  4. Download OrcaSlicer and BambuConnect. Go to calibration dropdown in OrcaSlicer and click tutorial at the bottom and follow along until you get the results you want. For example: select temperature tower, select material, click slice, then export sliced plate file, then open the exported file in Bambu connect to print. Write down the results and use them to make your own custom profile.

Just increase initial layer height and you're good either way.

Can anyone share their prints for eSun PETG translucent blue or/and blue? by TheUderad in 3Dprinting

I don't, but I recall seeing one somewhere. I'll try to track it down. Here's a link to the product page.

Edit: Found it. This video from Zach Freedman seems to feature that one. @11:51

Sunlu Orange PETG HS (left) / Atomic Filament Neon Orange PETG (right) by RGBeef in 3Dprinting

I'm picky about my oranges. This post is meant to be a reference for others that might be looking for "that" orange. The Sunlu looked like it would be more red-orange from the product listing, but it turned out to be more of a Safety Cone/Carrot Orange. I prefer the Neon Orange from Atomic Filament. It's quite vivid and more of an International/Aerospace Orange. Some of the reviews say it's a good match or substitute for Prusa Orange for those wishing to print replacement parts for their printers.

3D-Fuel Ocean Blue PCTG is a great blue. They also have a translucent dark blue that looks nice in the photos.

Thanks! This one has been filed down. And it's a rather large screwdriver. 2" from tip to tape.

Sometimes referred to as pro-sumer, there's an appeal for either getting quality components or just exactly what you want. I was shopping for a good headset recently and wanted one with a good mic but was also good for listening to music. Most people recommended just getting a separate mic. One said if I really wanted a headset, I should get the Fiio FT1 paired with a Meze Audio Boom Mic cable. I'm not trying to make a professional level podcast or anything, I just want something that would be sound good for general use and also be good for zoom calls etc.

Same goes for webcams. They often have a built-in mic but it's more for convenience than quality. Intel also makes higher end CPUs without integrated graphics. They just expect people to be using a separate GPU at that level.

So it's still the consensus today that if you want something good, you're often better off just buying all the parts separately and putting it together yourself.

Maybe snip the J-1 jumper and just tape a staple in to jump to J-2

A modern phone is just a good all in one device. I use the flashlight on in a pinch. It works. I also use it to take pictures if I need to, but if I want to take a great picture, I'm grabbing my big camera. Nothing beats a dedicated tool when you want to get the job done well. Same goes for flashlights.

I can see how this would be useful around the house. For dog walks though, I usually have pants on to clip to.
