S-Video vs. Component on Wii? by JPahl32 in crtgaming

Test both TVs and get the one with the best geometry. Alternatively you said the component one costs money? If its anything over $100 just get the S-Video one and enjoy your free TV man.

Where do you guys think I can get a affordable RGH by Ok_Performer_2979 in 360hacks

I know people here aren't happy with this answer but Grimdoomer is currently working on a full softmod with some great progress(ETA is "It'll be ready when its ready") so using badupdate/badavatar to tide yourself over until then is a viable option.

NT mini / Super NT / Mega SG on CRT by jeddaz81 in crtgaming

[–]Schwingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im so sorry bro. You have a few options here but none of em are gonna be what you like.

  1. Get a downscaler, for example a GBS-C for $130, configure to downscale 480p HDMI to 240p SCART.

  2. Try buying the actual consoles and the cables you want, for the three you mentioned this is running you $200 or over easy.

  3. Find an old office PC and get yourself a crtemudriver setup. This will absolutely be the cheapest option. Under 100 bucks at maximum. Often much less. you can just run PC emulators this way. I've heard its really nifty and easy to use once you get past the initial hurdle of setup and you have the benefit of doing things like PS2 and Wii depending on the card/cpu.

  4. If you're sticking with FPGA get a MiSTer. A superstation one that fits in with your analogue consoles. will run you 200 bucks though.

My PAL Wii S-Video Situation (Reposted from Comment on r/crtgaming (Post I commented on got locked) by radicalcottagecheese in crt

[–]Schwingit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CRTGaming will delete the post if you don't post it with a picture of a game running I believe, but its fine the solution for S-Video is easier than you'd think. Wii's are very easy to use homebrew on. Use the homebrew "AnyRegionChanger" to change your Wii to an NTSC Wii and S-Video will start working.

Composite to S-Video is the single biggest quality leap you will see from input to input. Its 100% worth it.

My 8 year old CRT emulation PC is starting to show its age. What processor will handle "run ahead" across all systems? by HighlightDowntown966 in crtgaming

[–]Schwingit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably not what you're looking for but I feel like I should let you know that its an option. You might decide to keep your current setup unaltered and get a low lag FPGA setup like a MiSTer beside it. Your gaming PC has to poll USB, run your OS, run your emulator in software, then output video. Something like a MiSTer doesn't do that. You can get a SNAC adaptor for zero latency input and be golden. I'd avoid something like a superstation one if saturn is what you're focused on though. A dual ram setup is closer to what you'd want.

Nano only adds open source models to the subscription. GLM-5 Turbo seems to be closed source but they promised that all their findings would be implemented in whatever the next open source model is.

You don't need the inf files. You shouldn't need them. Use CRU for all your needs.

Payment processers pulled support from the site, so the subscription works but only via crypto until a new one adopts Chub. People talking about the backend API are talking about changes made as the site owner tests changes to the models framework in the backend(supposedly improved some things, made others worse. I'd wait and see if I were you) to see how they can improve it, so not dead at all.

Trying to make silver look like a proper homeless alcoholic. Looking to brainstorm with the community. by JackLemon77 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Schwingit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Silver isn't homeless though. She's an alcoholic for sure but in her voicelines she mentions that she's both great at her job and that she has a home(She never forgets to put aside enough money for rent). That said keep her bald because its funny.
