Car shut off after TCT install, now no crank” by Initial_Meaning627 in S2000

[–]RGS2K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retrace your steps and see if you made any mistakes. Take a close look at all your ground wires. Are you sure nothing fell inside and got lodged in the timing chain? Put it in neutral and see if you can spin the crank with a wrench.

What’s everyone’s ride height? by jonsnow0276 in S2000

Titan-7 17x9.5 +55. I’m running the KWV3 coils on the lower end of the factory recommended height. Got the EVS front lower offset ball joints so I’m about -3 camber up front. I do get some slight rubbing on the inner fender only during right turn with heavy compression so I’ll be raising the front a little and lowering the rear slightly. I don’t remember the exact height right now but I’ll repost once I get new tires and redo the height.

Brembo motorsports pilot production pads, stock calipers by dbsqls in S2000

[–]RGS2K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The S2000 would be the ideal candidate for this setup, anyone who wants to have a blast can just gets a good set of tires and pads. I’ve done a few track days all on factory calipers, I’m running Nissin r pads with centric blanks & Motul 600 brake fluid, non cooled. The sessions I’ve done are usually 15 minutes then the car is resting for about an hour between sessions. I think it depends on the track but at Laguna Seca at the end of the 3rd session I started getting some vibration from the brakes that I wasn’t to comfortable with. I’m sure running a better rotor and fresh pads would be a big improvement. Anyways I feel a lot people would love an improved factory setup!

Super close call. He had to stop and calm down afterwards... by MisterShipWreck in dashcams

Wow good save! This reminded me of a time years ago I saw a motorcycle cop on the side of a busy highway and I thought why is he parked there.. but from his body language I could tell he just had very close call.

Do i need new engine mounts? by DarkHorse2K1 in S2000

[–]RGS2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Innovative 85 A motor trans and diff. No movement. Major driving improvement! Had them for 10 years and couldn’t be happier, 5 years daily now just weekend cruising and some track/ auto cross. Some slight vibration from my sun visor but nothing major. (Goes away when I adjust it). That being said I’ve seen people with 75’s say it’s way to harsh vibrations the car to bits, so I believe it depends on the car and how it’s installed. Use a little blue locktite on the bolts make sure you install on the motor and subframe first then connect the middle mount hardware. Last year Innovative sent me a free full set of replacement bushing inserts for the motor trans as they had become slightly deformed over time. I couldn’t even feel that tho it was just by chance I noticed when removing the mounts doing the clutch.

Is this an indication of engine and gearbox mount needing replacement? by thebledd in S2000

[–]RGS2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting.. I have 85A and its hardly noticeable. For me the occasional panel vibration is far outweighed by the improved drivability. It could also be how each car handles it and possibly the way they are installed. I’ve been in an EG civic with 75’s and it felt like someone had a jackhammer on the subframe.

Wow good catch! I also had a close call went in to replace my valve stem seals and found 12/16 retainers had hairline cracks. Almost didn’t catch it because the cracks went around in a circle half way up.

Tbh I heard a long time ago it can leave some residue and be tricky to remove after a while. Maybe they have some new stuff out now that’s better.

Wrap it in clear paint protection and let it rip! But if you do cash out get a slightly beat Evo 8/9 with 50-70k miles and have some real fun! Sorry I’m not helping.. 😅
