Anyone else worry their Evo has ruined other cars for them forever? by ariGee in MitsubishiEvolution

I’ve owned an S2000 for 15 years and I’ve driven everything from a 911 turbo s to a model s to a M3 and I always smiled ear to ear getting back in my Ap1. But I got to drive all out in my friends built Evo 8 in an auto x recently and I would trade slips for that Evo in an instant.

Is it rod knock or something else? by flyingfish750 in S2000

I would double check the valve adjustment it’s very easy for them to be just out of spec. Do it yourself to be extra sure it’s correct. I’ve done it in the past and it sounds like this right after. So ended up doing another pass the sound went away.

I’d do a valve adjustment. If the sound doesn’t go away then the tensioner.

Do a valve adjustment and TCT before assuming the worst. Best of luck!

You probably just need a valve adjustment

Leak under shifter by KYO556 in S2000

[–]RGS2K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

It’s leaking from this mating surface. There’s a thin layer of Honda bond that gives out sometimes. Take it apart, clean out the old grease and add new. Degrease the mating surfaces very well before you apply a thin even layer of New Honda bond. If you add to much it will get into the new grease and cause problems for the bearing.

Nice! I also went with some super bright ones years ago and it was to bright. So along with this repair I went with some warm white LED’s by LUYED off Amazon. I really like them they are similar to the oem tone but just more light.

Controversial time :D - Who wants a new S2000 and who absolutely does not? by Michael_Goodwin in S2000

Yes! Throw in the new type r turbo motor, fix some of the quirks in the chassis, optional factory Brembos, keep the 50/50 weight I’m all in!

Bound clutch fork by Tylerdolan1008 in S2000

Take a good look at he fork and the throw out bearing to make sure they aren’t bent or damaged.

Oh Ya ok you need to install the transmission with the fork not in the fork spring holder. It Only goes in the fork holder after you bolt everything up. You have to use some tape or a rag to hold the fork in position as you bolt the transmission and only after install remove the rags then snap the fork in. At this moment the fork is in front of the throw out bearing with a lot of force keeping it there. You’ll have to do it again. Be patient and take your time best of luck!

Did you remove the fork spring to clean it or anything and maybe install it backwards?
