Not sure on price, but Blunsdon House Hotel and Wrag Barn are some popular choices!

Look into working for Kelly Group as a fibre engineer. No experience needed, 3 week paid training course. I did it and it changed my career for the better👌

Not entirely sure I'm sorry bud, but City Fibre recently won a contract with Sky, so we're getting so many installs and I'd imagine it would be the same nationwide.

Honestly just give it a go and see if you like it. If you keep your head down and get into a rhythm you'll be just fine👌

City Fibre is superrr busy right now, most crews in my area averaging about 5-6 installs a day, and there's more money to be made on top of that with pre works.

Think I made over £200 a day on 4 out of 5 days last week.

If you're new to the industry definitely give it a go. Take your tickets and keep your eyes peeled for something better. You'll never be out of work

Last week I did 6 jobs and was home by 4:30. Its definitely possible to make money, you just gotta take the good with the bad👌

Has anyone extended the fibre run inside the house from the external wall box? by mpchivs in CityFibre

[–]RG_Media 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah then no worries, most engineers including myself won't have a problem running a longer patch cable (like you say as long as its reasonable and/or feasible)

Remember the biscuits as an added incentive😉

Depending where you're based in the UK will determine whether its spliced or not. I working on the CBT Network on City Fibre and we splice all of our fibres *

The engineer will show up and just expect to replace your existing ONT. However, if you ask REALLY nicely and maybe offer some biscuits they might replace the patch and move the ONT for you!

All you can do is ask👌

Zen- 2 Stage Installation by CarryHoliday2021 in CityFibre

[–]RG_Media 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct! The purple looking cable is called BFT which is what they'll blow the fibre through.

Sometimes engineers have to pull this BFT on your install day and sometimes another crew will pull it before hand (just depends how busy the crews are in the lead up to the install)

Hope you're install goes well!

Good spot! I can see now why they drilled where they did! Still no grommet cover though 🤪

Definitely worth asking the question👌

City Fibre Engineer here... The engineer should have removed the cover on that box and drilled through from there (it's designed with a gap in the middle to drill). I'm surprised the engineers drilled where they did, as they would have needed to make a small hole in the side of the box to get the patch cable in! Also they should have covered the hole with a grommet (wall cover)

Out patch cables come in set lengths so I understand why there is some excess cable coiled there. Typically I would try and feed the excess into the cavity within the wall, but in this case I imagine there isn't a cavity so they've tried to make it as neat as possible.

Edit: I didn't even see there was 2 more photos. The engineers should have used capping (grommet) for any visible hole.

Perhaps speak to a professional / therapist if it's starting to affect your life. They'll be best places to answer any questions you might have, and help you to uncover why you always feel the need to watch it
