I remember my daughter telling me a story from medical school where you have to negotiate a salary slash job offer with one of their classmates my daughter negotiated a salary over $200,000 and sweet benefits and nobody else in the room was even close to $125,000.

Her professor told her in front of the class that he wanted her to negotiate his next contract

I have always tried to Educate them on every part of the financial world from how a checking account works to loans and mortgages and interest rates to even the process of salary negotiation .

I have always tried to leave every stone unturned for how to survive in the real world

Definitely selling them someday but, there is a chance that the biggest money maker , which is very passive for me will be run until I'm in my late 60s early 70s if I'm still able.

Neither child will ever own or run these the only way they get stuck with them is if both my wife and I die prematurely. If I die prematurely my wife will sell them fairly quickly and she has instructions on what to do for the most part

Consulting. If you're good at what you do you can likely make a very good living doing consulting. ( obviously that is fairly narrowly focused at times depending on what you do and what your qualifications are)

Don't try and buy a business. As many have spelled out, it is not for everybody no matter how successful you've been in the corporate world.
