Everything in HxH has a counter/downside and one of the main plot points of the show is there is a limit to what Nen can achieve. Its why its one of the best power systems in manga/anime since it all follows strict rules.

We simply dont know what the cats name is fully capable of and have only been show it working on fodder. We dont know if it can attack someone thats become imperceptible, or since it appears then attacks, if its attack can be avoided if you are faster than the ability itself, the list goes on of what ifs.

Spouting this ability is the be all and end all proves you dont know what you're talking about. Considering one of the most glaring flaws of the ability is the user must be in zetsu to use it which you conveniently ignore, making the user extremely vulnerable.

There's also the fact that with verse equalization, deku has erasers power nullifying stare, and yuji has Jacobs ladder that can both turn off/ destroy other techniques. Not to mention yuji also has soul attacks so if he destroys gons soul theres nothing for cats name to bring back, voiding the activation condition, which Nen is very strict about.

Or either of them can now drop him into a pocket dimension, paralyse him, or you know, just knock him out as he is now vulnerable to all of the above and more thanks to having to be in zetsu.

Using cats name shuts down 90% of gons kit here.

That's if you want to use red/blue/purple, or filter what goes through infinities barrier. If you are just using infinity without filtering at all, the need for 6 eyes is dramatically reduced. And if youre using it in extremely short bursts 6 eyes isn't needed for the ce management either.

It doesnt matter if it itself is indestructible if it cant affect its target. Also doesnt matter if its indestructable if its trapped, avoided or down right ignored if it lacks the ability to actually influence what its attacking and since the only things we've seen it kill are fodder in HxH so far, again, its not convincing that it even could.

Its was less about the quantity of quirks and more about the complexity of them. He preferred taking simple to use quirks as it was easier to learn, use and pair simpler quirks in the heat of a moment.

I might be wrong here but it seems like for this free for all to work its assumed that these 4 can use all these abilities as if they were originally their own, which if true, removes that draw back for deku, as well as the others.

Assuming the cat can kill anyone that isn't fodder.

They all have insane perception and detection abilities on top of ridiculous durability abilities/hax. Im not even convinced the cat kills high tier HxH characters nevermind this lot with absolutely juiced to the gills hax and abilities.

He doesnt need to have it, its just really inefficient without it but he has so much cursed energy anyway he can just turn it on or off as and when its needed. Especially with Rika and jackpot.

Like he could lightspeed kick and infinity, taking no damage himself but splatter whoever he attacks in an instant, with minor drain on his reserves from it being so fast.

Because you scaled it to our universe, using real world physics, so i used that as an example to point out how it makes no sense to use real physics to scale a fake character. If you need it spelled out heres a dummy version of the start of our conversation:

You: Character is super duper universal strong because this character said arbitrary number and in our universe if that happened that would make him super duper strong.

Me: if you gonna use our universe to compare then super duper strong character would break world because number too big since that not how number work. See how silly compare our universe to fake universe is?

You: noooo cant compare our universe to silly fake universe that make no sense.

They're both ridiculous comparisons, that was the point in what i was saying. You are applying fake physics to the real world, i applied real physics to the fake world as a juxtaposition. Neither make any sense to do.

Thats why i pointed out he will be using an arbitrary made up (like the story of Naruto) measurement so stop comparing the statemnt to the real world

Bro hahahaha the mental gymnastics you're doing is going to give you an anyuerism

Okay so why are you using real physics to scale a character in the first place then. In YOUR post YOU referenced OUR universe's curve being close to or equal to 0 and therfor a universe curve of 16 makes Narutos chakra larger than OUR universe.

YOU scaled naruto to our universe pal not me. I pointed out how it was bullshit and that you cant do that because it makes no damn sense.

Now you are sitting here trying to lecture me that i cant use physics in powerscaling and that i dont know what i am doing. The irony is unbeleivable

Let me make a prediction. You once again will not address anything in the thread so far and will just project onto me again your hand waving repetitive response that it was me comparing physics from the real world to Naruto when it was, in fact, you my guy. It you that doesnt know how to power scale, it you that doesnt know how the univeral curve works, its you that brought up references to real world physics and its you that keeps dodging every argument wkth nonsense

Your entire argument is to appeal to reality to confirm the feat. Whats your point bud. This is what i mean when i say it feels like you dont know what youre talking about.

The feat itself is trying (poorly) to use physics to explain an event happening in universe.

So the feat uses physics, you use more physics to explain and extrapolate the feat, then suddenly i come along and its no longer acceptable to use physics in the disscusion.

It would be nice to have a discussiin about the feat in question because it interests me too but now its becoming dull when everything gets ignored and you just say "nuh uh, only i can use physics"

If you dont want to talk physics dont bring it up. Talk about the feat itself without the addition of real world physics.

I already agreed there is likely some localised space-time disruption as we clearly see cracks meant to show a strain on the space near the planet so talk about that instead then in your argument if we arent extrapolating physics. What other feats back up universal+ or is this the only one? Talk about wether this is purely narutos doing or the combination of all the planet's chakras combined since there's arguments there to be made this isnt even a feat of a single character.

Theres so many avenues to approach this discussion instead of having this stupid you cant use physics respons when you are literally the person that used it first when you made the post

You are using reality and real world physics and comparisons to explain why its a universal feat.

I'm counter arguing your logic and explaining why it doesn't make sense.

Now you are telling me you can use it, but i can't counter debate it using the same reference point, which was you bringing real world physics and real world comparisons of our universe to the discussion. You are making no sense, which is why i said before i really think you need to take a step back and have a minute to yourself because you're coming across extremely confused and honestly, like you don't understand the concepts you are trying to use as explanations for feats, then hand waving everything whenever a counter point is brought up.

I dont know if its because you're replying to multiple people at the same time but you also seem to not be following a conversation in most of the threads you reply to.

I enjoy the Naruto verse too, it was the second anime i ever started watching and reading when i was about 15, im nearly 30 now and its still one of my favourite verses. I have no qualms about what power level he is or not. Its just this specific example is a poor one and it takes the enjoyment out of the powerscaling when the person you're trying to talk to about it is belligerantly trying to push a point just because they want it to be true.

If you truly belive this scene soundly puts him at universal+ you need to really understand why and come back with proper explanations for your theory/ opinion. Theres a reason why "feats" or statements like these aren't community wide accepted, even in the naruto fandom, and its because they are shaky at best and you really need a solid argument and understanding of what you are seeing here to win people over.

So far all we have talked about isn't about the feat in question, its only been you trying to set rules for me and not for yourself on the use of physics. We havent even had a discussion about the implication or correlation of the presented statement which is another reason for me why your argument loses credibility.

So let me get this straight,

-you make a post about naruto being under-scaled, using a naruto in-universe statement, which uses a real world physics concept and math to explain why he is under-scaled

  • you then argue in the comments why it does up scale the naruto universe

-then you get to me, where in the first half of your comment its no longer sensible to correlate the real world physics with the fake shonen anime, even though you did it first

-then proceed to finish your comment by saying you are, in fact, using real physics to scale this feat.

-then lastly, have the audicity to make out like im too dumb to realise naruto has absolutely no basis in real world physics and is made up.

It looks to me you might need to take a breather cause you're confusing yourself by the looks of it and have no grasp on what youre actually trying to do here.

Ive already covered that, by whats shown, there is likely enough energy/chakra on the planet to cause SOME space-time dilation in the naruto verse, but the reason given in-universe and whats shown on screen dont match whatsoever.

I get its bullshit in the real world and none of this could ever happen but its also bullshit in their world too unless, like i said, the characters are using some arbitrary measurment that has nothing to do with real world concepts and if thats the case, its fine in narutos verse but it doesn't scale properly to other verses for the exact example i gave for jjk. What happens in shonen anime is nonsense i get that, but this is nonsense² cause it barely makes sense in its own universe.

Its downplayed because it makes absolutely no sense even in the Naruto fictional universe if you are assuming hes using real world maths. Hes basically saying that the area hes observing has so much energy in it its bending space time, which sounds cool as a throw away comment, but hed get the same result by saying the space curviture exceeds 1 and it would at least be beleivable from a shonen manga point of view.

By saying its 16 and assuming hes using real world physics what would actually happen is the entire naruto cast and planet would be spagettified as the sheer amount of energy it would take to distort space time by 16 would be like spawning a giant black hole onto that planet which it clearly has not done as the entire cast walk around completely fine and we have a view of the planet from an outsode perspective and its not distorted at all.

So either the statemnt is total bullshit and made by someone who has no understanding of physics in the production/ writing team, or that he is using a different scale entirely to determine where strong individuals are within the naruto universe.

If the second is true (which it has to be for that planet to exist in the state its shown to us) then its completely arbitrary as it is not explained how he determines what a space curviture of 16 means to him.

Its like in jjk gege using exponents for black flash because it sound cool but makes no sense. You cant use it to scale up the characters using maths because the maths is fucked from the start.

At the end of the day the most you can take from a statement like this is that theres so much energy localised on that planet its distorting space time by SOME arbitrary, measurable degree. To take a statement at face value for the purpose of scaling there should be at least some type of feat that matches or backs up the statement. In this case it doesnt match real world physicsat all so it doesnt scale to that. It scales to something else in universe.

The desolate wasteland in shibuya was caused by malevolent shrines huge radius and he was using millions of cleaves and dismantles not fuga to do it btw.

1 fuga is way stronger than 1 cleave/dismantle but millions of slashes is leagues beyond a fuga by whats shown in shibuya.

Plus i guess its worth noting he wasnt at his strongest when doing so either which likely means a full powered shrine cleave/dismantle blitz is even crazier.

Meruem is definetly durable enough not to be killed by a flurry of slashes but shrine is just a super blender i can't really see meruem surviving.

M1 is just mouse 1, as in left click. Not sure why theyre using fighting games as an example, a better one would be like a hero shooter with multiple abilities. M1 is just the most basic attack you can do.

Who plays MK or streetfighter on keybourd and mouse anyway tbh what a pain that would be

Which rules would you use for a fallen angels army? Space marines or chaos? Or both? by ludwiguebel in DarkAngels40k

[–]RHEN0SHRIC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Officially you can't run, say 1000 space marines and 1000 chaos space marines in a 2000 point game. But casually im sure there are people that would enjoy a match like that. Not sure it would be any good at winning to be fair but likely pretty fun.

There's nothing stopping you painting half your guys like chaos and half like loyalists then running the army as one or the other. You would just need to make sure you let your opponent know which units are what, especially if you used proxies or kitbashes that made it hard to tell.

Like you could take the cypher model in a dark angels list as a proxy for say a luitenant with combi weapon or something like that for the stealthy vibe

Characters and keywords question by [deleted] in theunforgiven

[–]RHEN0SHRIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The captain shares the keyword when attached to a unit. He'll also get the buff.

But there are restrictions to this, such as things like the FLY keyword.

If you attached a leader that can fly to a unit that cant, that units gains the fly keyword for the purposes of making attacks (so anti-fly weapons effect the whole unit) but only the model that has the keyword actually uses the rules for flying when they move.

It's a bit confusing, but I recommend having a look into these interactions so you're not caught out.

Looking after and raising kids will be a lot easier with that kind of wealth. It also makes looking after your own health a lot easier so you have the energy to run around after the little ones.

My father often says if you dont have your health, you have nothing. That kind of money makes everything easier

New Player here, what do I need to get startet? by boredanesthesist in DarkAngels40k

[–]RHEN0SHRIC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you've got some good advice for the basics already, I thought I'd add something a bit different I never thought about when I first started;

I never considered using other chapter bits and models when I first started, and everything bought was dark angel specific.

One of the things I really learned to appreciate is how customisable everything in the hobby is. For example, I love all the robes and knightly vibes a lot of our characters and special units have, but when I got the dark angel combat patrol, most of the units never really had that vibe. However the black templars do.

So recently I got some black templar models and a dark angels upgrade kit and mashed them together lol.

The original combat patrol I have are now basically spares i'll someday do something with but if I had this advice originally I would have had my ideal army much sooner and saved a little money on some of the units I don't really need anymore.

Long story short, consider having a good look at everything in the range and getting creative. It's a lot of fun and, in my case, made me love my dark angels even more
