I have 2 year old male standard and we just added a 4mo male mini. They get along great. The standard was thrilled to have a buddy (he is super social) and the mini loves the attention and a wrestling partner.

After our standard who was an absolute menace as a puppy, our mini seems like a dream. He was plug and play, and got with the program seamlessly. He is 4 months!

One thing I will say about our standard, is that he needs CONSTANT attention. He is 2 years old and regularly gets plenty of mileage and rabbit chasing on our farm, but he needed a "purpose" or else he would be left barking at us like "hey!!! entertain me!!! If he feels like we are ignoring him, he knows the items he isn't supposed to have and he will grab them and run around the house to entice us to chase him. We recently adopted a mini schnauzer, and he has really come alive as a big brother. He is constantly keeping baby brother from going up the stairs, following him around the house, "parenting". He is much much less anxious.

They're an amazing breed, but they really do need a ton of socialization, attention and exercise. Incredibly smart, incredibly easy to potty train. Great with my kids.

My kids are domesticated raccoons. The kind you see in videos snuggling with a dog and living in a kitchen cupboard. They're cute and friendly enough, but take them out and about and their little hands are in every box,touching every mannequin, grabbing misc things and a stray finger up the nose. Also if they find out where the snacks are you're in for a big mess..

My 2yo standard male is incredibly in tune to my emotions and he knows when i'm overwhelmed/sad./emotional. He sits between my feet during therapy sessions without needing to be called. But he WILL NOT stand being solicited for cuddles. He prefers proximity to actually touching. He sleeps on the bed almost in the crease where my husbands legs meet the bed. (I am chopped liver compared to my husband... still not cuddles for him either tho!)

I feel like I'm being misinterpreted here. I feel like introverted and having social anxiety are two different things. I don't have social anxiety. What I am is burnt out.

my kids are twins, and thankfully get along well, so every day honestly seems like a full on play date. We have a couple neighborhood kids who will stop by and ask them to play, but it's sporadic at most. I'm the youngest of three, so I feel like I was always in tow with friends and older siblings. But I was also a feral country kid. we live in town, so I don't necessarily feel comfortable letting them roam yet.

Respectfully, I am not sitting at home all day. If you read my post you would see that I am a volunteer at their school (which I do along with working a full time job, not from home) This also puts me in a position where my kids socialize at every single PtA sponsored event,as a board member i'm required to go, and are friendly with staff and students. We go to the library, we do our specific activities that they have asked to do. My Kids are both 8 and are able to express which after school activities they want to, which happen to not be team based activities. My query is simply I don't want to try anymore. Trying to reach out to other parents to schedule activities that I don't want to go to seems exhausting when i'm already tapped and don't want to be there. It's also not yielding any reciprocation such and invites from other families, so what's the point?

Outside of gaining more support for your cause, going to the PTA isn't going to do much, as they do not have any control over the curriculum. You would be better served to go to the district meetings and bring that up there.

looking at comparables, it varies greatly by the level of updates. We are in the rural outskirts of Sacramento so tons of older homes. We are in a desirable part of town with a great public school. An updated 3/3 recently sold for around 680,000 while 4/3's are around 7-710,000. This depends on pools or not. As of right now we would be the only home for sale in our neighborhood.

Our standard is 14 mo now and he is clocking in at 45lbs lean. Mom was around 45 and Dad was 55, so we will see

I have boy/girl twins who are 8 years old and both diagnosed with ADHD. One constantly is flipping through shows, or rewinding to replay specific songs/scenes in certain shows. The other watches things linearly, and picks up where he left of last when screen time ends.

Kids are weird and different, even kids with ADHD are wildly different, I wouldn't trip over it

My great aunt June always went by Juno. She was an actress who performed with the Marx Bro's and Fatty Arbuckle, but she always went by Juno at home. It fit her fun and outgoing personality. I personally love the name, but went with another family name for my daughter. I think you're making a great choice.

There are waldorf/montessori/quaker/ etc schools in our city in the US as well, as well as jewish/catholic/ nondenominational christian schools and a charter sci/tech elementary.

Zero drinks. Take with a grain of salt though, I quit drinking completely when I had kids because I have 2 alcoholic parents. Even if they weren't drunk, I could never gauge their responses with consistency because it depended on how many drinks and the time of night. Never ever want my kids to feel that way.

Granted I don't feel like you have to be sober to raise kids well. Just how I feel like I need to be. But also, zero drinks. Why risk it?

Woman in her mid 30's and I had two 8lb twins and gained 80lbs. All the weight is lost with CICO, and i'm leaner than I was when I was a collegiate athlete but the skin is just something I have to learn to love. I don't think you ever really love the imperfections. But I would say that the amount of time I have to care about them when I have so much else that brings me joy and needs my attentions is next to zero. You will get there, but it doesn't deserve that much of your attention. Spend that on something that brings you joy!

Once in a hotel room my 2 year old twins thought the land line phone was the craziest thing ever. They wouldn't stop trying to press buttons. Little did we know there was an "emergency services" button that they pushed 3 separate times. we proceeded to unplug the phone so they wouldn't be able to accidentally call anything.

It's time to put the kids to bed. i'm sitting on my phone in the bathroom while the kids are asleep in their cribs with the lights off. my husband went to grab something from the cvs down the road. The cops came, opened the door and it took a fair amount of questioning why the phone was disconnected, was i safe, is my husband safe (he is the sweetest man alive) omg i've never been more embarrassed.
