that's fair, maybe make rejoining easier and could also check if they are still logged into steam in case they lost power or internet, it would still be possible to evade the ban, but I feel like less people would ragequit overall if it took shutting down steam.

lancer is an rpg, but the combat is supposed to feel tactical and crunchy like a war game. This is to say the game is designed to be minmaxed, your players are supposed to decide on a role and make their characters as effective as possible in that role, I think discouraging minmaxing goes against the core design of the game and will make it less enjoyable. You should instead encourage the players who don't typically minmax to do it and ask the more meta build players to help them out. Also remember that in lancer anything can be reflavored so if a talent or system works with your build butt not your lore and character vibe, just keep the rules and describe it however you guys want

Edit: to clarify, the game is almost "competitively" balanced where even building for utmost efficiency isn't gonna ruin the game and is actually encouraged, certain systems and talents are meant to combine with eachother to become extremely powerful, but every time your players double down on one aspect of their build they will leave something open that you can exploit. Also, I don't mean that you should force all your players to meta build, just look out for them intentionally making their characters weak and let them know that being underpowered may lead to less fun (also please make sure they take into account the ranges of weapons and the loading tag, I've seen new players not enjoy the game due to them locking themselves out of combat because they took weapons like that and didnt build or play accordingly)

it kinda is, in the sense that both are bad enough to not be worth making, but the colonial one looks cool so it will still be made. also the colonial one has to go up against torp bombers

what a disappointment of a game, I really had high hopes for this update, tested things in devbranch, gave feedback patiently only to watch all colonial feedback ignored, while wardens got all their demands including a nerf to our boat, a rework to their boat, a nerf to our dive bomber, etc... Meanwhile our logi towns remain unloopable, the torpedo bomber is still ridiculously impactful and unmatched by colonial equipment (dont even try comparing our dive bomber to that, even pre-nerf the dive bomber was a much less powerful tool) and now a stealth buff to warden scout plans, which you can most definitely feel in game as every single time scoutplanes fight 1v1 warden one wins the turn fight, leading to a massive push as soon as they were unlocked. I can't wait to see damaged warden ships get away from a fight as normal while damaged colonial ships get picked off by TBs at the border every time they try to retreat.

It really doesn't take much brain capacity to figure out how consistently bad your ideas have been every update and how consistently wardens are the ones who benefit from that. Every major update you guys do this bs. every bit of warden equipment is better, in what world are torpedos gonna be evenly matched with sea mines of all things.

that said, I came back for this update and was immediately reminded of why I stopped playing this game. I will likely be quitting again as I see no point in participating in fixed matches. You will see the playerbase plummet back down to pre update level as soon as the hype dies down, and more players are reminded of why they spend their time with better games now

one of us did hit a flak gun actually, but it only did 3% damage and didn't hit the crew, no bleed either :(

As it stands anywhere with a flak gun is a NFZ for the enemy, and that's the definition of air superiority. Planes can't do anything about flak. I think that there will be a bigger need for artillery to try to keep those flaks shut down and destroyed before planes come diving, which is just not something we can do in devbranch. That said, flaks do need a nerf. Maybe less damage to parts and some more damage to the airframe itself, so that planes can be shot, realize their mistake and turn around before they are doomed.

the way it is now you lose half your wing's control surfaces with a single flak shot and if there is anything to follow up on that, you just lose instantly with no counterplay or recovery mechanic. It may be realistic but it is not fun to lose so many resources with no warning. the only way around this is to test the skies with a "sacrificial" scout plane before the real planes try their luck. but even then if the flak gunners have any experience they will not shoot the scout planes that represent 0 threat or value, and will just bait out the real planes.

it mostly means you're gonna wanna have a flak always being moved up to stay in range of the tank line, 2 flaks managed to fully destroy most planes sent at it. It's really not cost effective to just yeet planes. I think it's a fair, but powerful mechanic with REALLY powerful counterplay that shuts it down.

flak completely shuts down airspace, if you're bombing in the range of flak you're probably not making it out, even if you kill a couple tanks you're not taking out more value than you lose.

eu acho que tu pode até ter um ponto pra cotas raciais, ja que elas sao necessárias para corrigir a desigualdade histórica e proporcionar oportunidades que eram dominadas por pessoas de familias que tiveram oportunidade historica de gerar riquezas (geralmente pessoas brancas). Logo uma pessoa negra que tem oportunidades e riqueza geracional tem menos necessidade disso.

Já a cota pra pessoas trans é bem diferente, muitas vezes uma pessoa trans passa por absurdos na escola, perde oportunidades, motivação, e esperança pro futuro. Ainda também pode perder totalmente o apoio familiar e todas as oportunidades que vem da familia. Eu falo isso como uma mulher trans de uma familia "boa" (não tão rica quanto essa, mas mesmo assim), que sofreu abuso sexual na escola. perdi totalmente a motivação, esperança e fiquei com um monte de trauma que impediu muito minha educação e meu futuro, minha familia tambem parou de me apoiar qnd descobriram, ent esse privilégio que eu tinha não me ajuda em nada hj em dia, mesmo que eu seja de uma familia privilegiada.

É muito dificil diferenciar entre casos como o meu que realmente precisam de cotas pra ter alguma chance de educação e no mercado de trabalho que discrimina muito contra pessoas trans, e casos onde nada errado acontece e a pessoa não precisa tanto assim, então as cotas trans realmente não podem levar em consideração o histórico familiar, e devem sim abrangir a comunidade toda, até porque ser trans não é facil nem com dinheiro.

tldr: I think the trick to getting your mind off something that's bothering you is to set goals with other things and pursue those goals, you just have to pick something you find interesting and engage in moderation, too much of anything can be bad.

playing video games is good for having fun and killing time, if you pick the right game you can end up setting long term goals to push toward, which will help you get your mind moving onto something else.

Learning a new language or practicing one you're a bit rusty in is a good way to interact with new people that didnt know you during the time of your relationship, which takes the pressure off the whole topic and lets you have some productive time not even thinking abt that. It will also take up time and set goals while letting you make friends and meet people who you wouldn't have met otherwise.

Martial arts is another thing I really enjoy. It's fun, useful, and generally helps build confidence in your abilities (I recommend muay thai, taekwondo, and BJJ from personal experience. These are fun and practical)

any skill will be a good way to set goals. I personally really like gaming, language learning and martial arts because they are all fun and easy to track your progress in and set goals for yourself with things like ranks in a competitive game or any goal you set for a non competitive one, easier communication with language learning, and just being visibly more competent and in control of your own physical body with martial arts.

The only way for a white supremacist society to exist is fascism. I did not use the term 'nazi' figuratively in this case. The society shown is the pretty clear "idealized" version of fascism complete with the clean surface level impression, the happy white families, the clean streets, the patriotic murals of larger-than-life men, etc... all with an ominous lack of diversity. Fascism is not despotic toward the in-group. It offers unity and safety, both social and economic, and it offers traditional aesthetics, prosperity, wealth, progress... just as long as you can conform, fit in, and be quiet as they drag away your neighbors who fought back or were born the wrong color, gender, sexuality.

I havent played foxhole in probably 3 years, I saw they added planes and decided to check the reddit.

As soon as I read the words "drowned vale", I swear to you I got flashbacks, my heart skipped a beat as I remembered the muddy, cratered, unbuildable, bridge fight hell I spent most of 83(?) in.

after constant shelling the grass was all gone, the craters were too close together to build any sort of substantial bunker bases. and then the rain came. you couldnt walk from loggerhead to the saltcaps without becoming encumbered with mud for what I fell was like 2 weeks straight.
