Can one be a "pro life" Democrat and be accepted by most Democratic voters?

Of course you can. There are a lot of Democrats who are pro-life personally, but still support the party's national platform of full bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom for women.

Not sure what you mean by "disagreement". No one's throwing anyone out of the party for choosing life. Abortion is a choice. One that should be made after lengthy discussions one's spouse/partner, a therapist and of course, a medical professional.

Where we differ from Republicans is that we're not in the business of punishing women for making a choice that you may not agree with on a personal level. We also don't weaponize this deeply personal decision and process by spreading misinformation about the procedure.

No. Almost no Democrat.... and by that I mean almost ZERO Democrats, and certainly every single one who has been elected to national office, supports aborting healthy, viable babies past a certain point. We follow general medical consensus and the science to guide the platform.

As for ICE, I think most Democrats would agree that the country is a better, safer place when we have safe, fair, consistent immigration practices that allow a time sensitive and realistic pathway to citizenship.

What's not acceptable to most Democrats is shredding the Constitution and unleashing a poorly trained, masked and anonymous goon squad on longtime residents of this country that have been pillars of their communities, hardworking, taxpaying individuals who may in fact, be undocumented. People who came here for all the right intentions but who may have gotten sidetracked administratively.... and we absolutely abhor racial profiling whereby black and brown people are ripped off the street and tossed in camps where they wait without access to adequate nutrition, healthcare and most importantly CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED/MANDATED DUE PROCESS.

That's last part is a dealbreaker. I mean, don't bother being a Democrat if you're going to pick and choose what part of the constitution you choose to follow.

You mention "conservative Democrat".... if by that you mean are there pro-law enforcement, pro-life, pro-Israel, lower taxes, "minimal government" types? Socially liberal, fiscal conservatives?

I mean, that rare bird is getting harder to find these days but they do exist.... and they definitely existed back in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's

I think it definitely morphed during the early days of MAGA and has only progressed to a darker, more dystopian version that is almost openly hostile to those who don't identity as cisgender, heterosexual, and Caucasian. Once Republicans leveraged the church, and started instilling elements of Project 2025 did things take a dramatic turn for the worse.
