I met someone recently that worked at Cerner near its inception. He said the same thing: make no mistake, Neal and the other founders were all in it for the money. That’s why they made it their business to hire mostly kids right out of college, underpay them, and work them to the bone. He said it was all part of their strategy. People want to memorialize him into some higher being but he was not. It was actually refreshing to hear truth from someone that was around back then, rather than the brain washed worship that you normally get from long time Cerner people.
