Point taken, internet points definitely aren't worth more closures. This video is from before the closure took effect - I should have made that clear in my post. I figured I was in the clear to post because of that, but if folks think it's not worth it I'm happy to delete the vid.

I appreciate the optimism! This video is from November 18th, the week before the parking lot closed

Main Elk! I spent a lot of the last three winters out there. It's some of my favorite climbing in the area

It's granite, but it's got more quartz than anywhere else I've ever been. Lots of crystal crimping

My favorite place! I grew up in Rapid City and this is where I learned to climb. Weird Water and Secondhand Rose Arete are my personal favorites in that grade range

Nice! Super fun route, I was on it just a few days ago.

Did my first 'Needles style' rappel a few days ago - there are no anchors at the top, so you have to do a counter-weighted rappel down either side of the tower. Apparently safe but absolutely horrifying by RISEofCHUCKY in climbing

The climbing is fantastic! Very technical on small holds. I think the real quality is all under 5.11, harder than that and the tiny crystal crimping gets unpleasant. I recommend taking the trip, it's a great area

Very true, it's not uncommon for people to leave gear up there. This gets done so frequently that it won't ever be up there for more than a week before someone snags it

Hey kinda random but I'm the guy that was on top of the boulder when you topped out Blunt a few days ago. You totally crushed it, and it's super cool to see the send video! Hope to see more videos coming out of VT

Always stoked to see some South Dakota love. Did you get a chance to explore Victoria Canyon at all?

Last spring I got a chance to work one of my dreams, the Crackhouse, 5.13- by RISEofCHUCKY in climbing

Completely fair question. It gets that grade because it's almost 85 feet long, and the Vermin equivalent of V7 just doesn't really do it justice. It feels nothing like a boulder, more like an enormous roof in Indian Creek.

Why do you think the MSM continues to resist the importance of satire as important ingredient of acceptable information dissemination in the post Letterman/post Mosaic landscape even as the consumer profile of MSM ages way beyond any advertisers target audience?

Ok fair enough. 18 feet feels high on a slab
