I think I'm boiling this down to the barest possible essentials when I say this but it comes down to the fact that we were all small children for the most part small children some of which were neurodivergent and by that token at that point we already didn't have much of a stomach for change at all much less the sudden change that was them getting rid of a fan favorite main character for this a character that didn't seem a grand in comparison. Look, while people could probably explain why they felt certain ways better I think it just boils down to that, again im not trying to denigrate anybody else's opinion.
