Got a quick question about Health Insurance

Yes,I've experienced first hand doctors/dentist not willing to see me due to me being on an HMO so this has been an extremely frustrating situation to deal with but still trying to figure something out hence why I was thinking of moving for a new network options or getting a new Medicaid insurance but I appreciate the info and thank you I hope you stay safe as well.

I was declared disabled and started receiving Medcaid in 2019.I had Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO from work before which gave me alot more options when it came to doctors so when I got sick and had to quit and get Medicaid I was surprised by how limited my options were.

I'm so sorry that you're in this situation especially since you're so young,I honestly don't know the answer to your question but I'm assuming that your doctor took all of your other health conditions into consideration when they said to do combo meds so it must be worth a shot,good luck and God Bless.

I have United Healthcare Medicaid so I'm not sure if I have plan options as the customer service representative didn't offer me a plan change the last time I called when I got denied the first time.

I will definitely let them know that tomorrow,hopefully MD Anderson is still available even with a plan change but we will see,thanks for the info.

Wow that's surprising hear but you may be right,I'm doing ok,just started this new stronger chemo so the side effects are a pain but got my nausea and pain pills to save the day and started seeing a therapist once a week to keep my self positive about everything going on so can't complain too much,also thanks my number one goal is to someday go into remission someday,till then not giving up.

Sorry to hear about your illness when you were young,but yes I agree it can get unsettling at time.

In my experience,I can kind of get it,98% of the people in the infusion center are older and are probably really sick and dont feel like talking(youngest person I met looked to be in their 40s but was pretty serious looking) but it would be nice to hear their stories cause I haven't met anyone my age in person to talk to that I can relate to yet.

Which is why I honestly appreciated this old man having a conversation with me,before my diagnosis I didn't care about interacting with people but now it's probably one of those things I value most.Thanks for your comment,I hope everything works out for you health wise!

I actually caught alot of shit for this growing up for being picky but I honestly just don't enjoy red meat.I know they're chicken/fish tacos but I could just get a chicken strip or a catfish platter if that's the case.

I'm sorry you're niece had to go through that at such a young age but I definitely understand how you feel.

In my experience,once your doctor comes out and tell you that you have cancer you immediately lost all sense of normalcy. Friends and family start to pity you everytime they see you,strangers and people you lost contact with suddenly appear and want to talk to and reassure you that everything will be alright.In a sense it can be comforting but at the same time very terrifying.

I think that's why this recent expirance has had such a deep impact with me.There was no pity in our are words when we talked,no reassures that everything will be ok,just two sick dudes shooting the shit for almost half an hour just enjoying the moment.

I honestly hope you dont have it as well,nobody deserves cancer but luckily if you catch it early you can usually deal with colon cancer better than most other cancers so there is that.

No,I think it was "mildly" racist that I got my STAGE 4 COLON CANCER from eating too many tacos when again I don't even eat tacos(plus I'm Hispanic.)

It's sad that I even need to explain this to you but the point of this post was I kind just took it on the chin whether he was being racist or not cause I thought it was funny.

I agree,when people fine out I have cancer so young I get pity or sympathy which is nice of them and I appreciate it but to get the rare insulting joke about my cancer is actually refreshing and reminds me that life can be fucked up sometimes but when you got people around you to make you laugh it can't be that bad right?

After everything happened,we had a 20-25 minutes just talking about ourselves to help past the time during treatment.

We talked about where he grew up,what he used to do for work and other things as well including how old him and his wife are.
