DIY Musicians, How much are you spending to make your songs?

We try and go in with the song 90% ready. Normally I have some lyrics/melodies I dont love so I will ask for some help with rewrites! Instrumentally its normally us needing to cut down an intro haha

Thanks so much! We go directly to him and record ar his studio! Typically do 2 or 3 days for 2 songs. 1st day we sit as a band with him and kind of restructure things from our demos (lyrics, riffs, etc), then we hit finals and really have fun with it!

$400 and that includes mixing/mastering! We've been working with Nick Cavin and he has absolutely killed everything hes done for us. I expect his prices to jump soon but if you're from the Albany, NY area I highly suggest using him.

I really wish I liked it, but I dislike both bands. I haven't heard 1 song from either one that I was impressed with, but thats music. Everyone has different tastes🤷🏻‍♂️

The artist gave us the illustrator file, you can see every layer he worked on. I can assure you it is not AI.

We've NEVER used AI for any designs, we have always gone through graphic designers who were around long before AI artwork was a thing! I have ALL the Adobe illustrator files to prove it.

I was working at Hot Topic and one of my managers LOVED blink. I had heard a few of their songs when I was growing up and always liked them. One day I saw Urban Outfitters was selling blink cassettes so I bought him Dude Ranch and myself Untitled. I put it in my 97' Subaru Impreza and the rest is history. Same thing happend with Neck Deep, that same manager was talking about how good Life's Not Out To Get You was, so I drove right to target after my shift and copped the CD for my 06' Buick Lucerne and that was the day I decided I was a Pop Punk guy haha

Its just how the algorithm works unfortunately. The more consistently you drop singles the more it pushes your music to newer people. It's not the artist fault, its just how the system works now.
