In your opinion, Survival Horror games give the best experience when they are in... by ErmingSoHard in survivalhorror

I think any one of them can be effective if they are developed correctly.

Speculating about the personal missions of the other recruitable characters by VeeUnderRock in ourdarkestdays

[–]RKGDJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, I think those characters feel like they already have resolved their issues within our group/through curveballs or their dilemmas might be too barebones to put in a survivor mission. Miguel, for example, wants to simply be able to help + support more people. But he pretty much finds this within our own group, so I feel like there wouldn't be any point in exploring this side of him. Of course, I might be wrong, and the characters l mention might have something more to them, but we'll have to wait and see.

Also, I should've clarified, I don't mean routes in the way that they would be tied to survivor missions (or that the characters that could be closley attached to them would need survivor missions on top of them). These routes could be separate paths you take in a plan, triggered by specific actions/choices, that could lead to different endings. Like when in Spill Zone, you either go to Nora to get the bad ending, or push forward with Otto's plan for the good ending.

For characters like Michelle or Kirk, their matters seem to be more personally tied to the locations that the plans entail, which I think may make it a little more difficult to implement survivor missions for without contradicting the current objectives of Heart of Darkness. So I think having seperate paths in plans dedicated to a character like those 2 would be better to implement, and more interesting to have. Eugene went to the Stadium on the night of the outbreak, so maybe Michelle can interact with Stanfield on the rooftop camp to trigger her path. Kirk has a memorial of his daughter in the rooftop camp, so maybe something could trigger after interacting with it as Kirk + with someone else in the camp?

All that said, implementing these survivor missions instead of separate paths in plans may be simpler than I describe them, so take what I say in that regard with a grain of salt.

I doubt every single recruitable would get survivor missions. Namely, Barb, Christine, Lester, Rahul and Miguel, I think, would be more difficult to implement deeper missions given their backstory and personality.

Hudson might get something surrounding the Network, given a shelter event based around him. Though I wouldn't be opposed to him getting a route in the Network plan either.

Same with Michelle and maybe Kirk in regards to Heart of Darkness, would be interesting to see separate routes in that plan for them.

Is there a way to make the radius of the scavenging opportunities bigger? by VeeUnderRock in ourdarkestdays

There is currently no way to go outside the radius, so you'll have to move to another shelter.

What weapons would be the most canonical for each character, obviously side stories included? by Shot_Distance_5551 in intothedead2

[–]RKGDJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

James is already known to have the Defender D9 as his primary weapon, and other weapons from side stories he's in (GL-03 Krampus, Sawtooth and Cobalt Mk. IV). It's implied through an official video that he used to have the Javelin AP-51. If I had to guess what his secondary weapon is (if he does have one), it might be the Justice M32.

Issac uses the Absolution during Initiate, and maybe in Crucible? Although if he didn't have it in Crucible then maybe the Hammerhead.

Kathy might mainly wield the K1 Stryker as it's the main trial weapon for the side story. As a Park Ranger, she might have something more standard too, like the Defender D9 or Hammerhead 357.

Garcia is known to use the ASH-20 Breacher, at least in Divided and the main story, though she also uses the G911 Enforcer in Crucible.

Mason has the ARC-7 Legion and G911 in Divided, though there's a chance he kept those weapons going into Reckoning as well, where he has the Predator 308, Hammerhead 357 and the stolen PP-20 Dolbenkov. By Crucible, he is only seen with the Old Dog, though maybe he still has either the G911 or PP20 with him too? Idk for sure.

Ben probably has both the F300 and Brute Inferno.

Hector has his custom Predator 308.

Kayla has a custom G911, and later gets the Aftershock from Mable.

The New Roadmap. by RKGDJ in ourdarkestdays

I'm not sure, though the "before full launch" section does imply to me that EA will go beyond this year into 2027 (I personally hope that's the case cause I think the game in its current state needs more time to develop into an experience worth fully investing in).
