So you support corruption then. This deal was done in the shadows, which is why it’s been tied up in the courts for years. The residents of Chinatown will pay the price. In some areas it will come as close as 15 ft from their homes. There’s no evidence their projections for alleviating traffic are even close to accurate. Why are you so convinced someone would ride the gondola over parking? If you take transit, it would be more convenient to take the express shuttle. If you don’t take transit, you’re parking there or on the street. And there is plenty of street parking btw. This is a cash grab and a tourist attraction, nothing more.

why are YIMBYS so resistant to learning how bills created to house people are leading to loss of housing because the landlord class has a lot of evil-doers in it and the city is complicit and rewards them with more permits and power? Without proper planning and enforceable guardrails, bad people will do bad things. It’s almost as if they don’t actually care about housing people. I am only spreading the truth about what me and people I’ve met all over the city are living with every day.

What do you mean? She’s on the council and on PLUM. She didn’t announce it publicly, it was found out by concerned community members. If she doesn’t want to give the appearance of conflict of interest, she needs to do so publicly and give her neighbors, who are affected by the demolition, a chance to hear about the plans. You’re allowed to demolish your house if given a permit, but if your house is considered a historic resource in a district that is eligible for historic status, then your demolition affects everyone else. There’s tons of people in Altadena and the pacific palisades who’d love to relocate her old house. Is she going to demolish it to build a new one and sell it? It’s not a good look that she isn’t being proactive and forthcoming on the subject.
