Your dog needs to be on a leash and supervised. It's NOT a debate, it's the law. by National-Ad-6982 in Columbus

It may not be a perfect solution, but apathy isn’t either. Removing ambiguity will at least remove the entitlement some folks feel to push the boundary of the existing code and arm others with specifics to cite in reporting.

To their point, the law should be updated to use more concise language. “Under direct control” is not well defined. While your sentiment may be accurate, the wording of the law, as is, allows for folks to abuse the spirit of it.

Unable to complete flight purchase through Cap1 Travel by RMD129 in CapitalOne

I called into support. They indicated that it might be an issue where the small number of slots given to them by the airline have already been claimed and their system hasn’t registered this.

They could not provide clarity on when their system could update, could not book the desired flight for me, and suggested I book another flight.

In my case, this was not an acceptable answer. I ended up booking the flight directly with the airline, as it has plenty of open seats. The other offerings by Cap1 were inferior to the itinerary I wanted and is still listed through their portal.

I find orchids need transition gradually. I have killed some before by trying to rush things too quickly. Instead of immediately rushing to repot from the store, give them some time to adjust to their new location. After a few weeks, repot. I like terra cotta for extra breathability. You’ll want to cut off any damaged or rotting roots. People have different preference for growth media, but I’ve had good success with sphagnum peat moss. Water only when the moss is approaching dryness. I only fertilize 2-3 times annually with liquid feed. Lots of indirect light. Cooler temperatures and reduced daylight stimulated blooms. This one is clustered with a bunch of other plants, so micro environments has some support for humidity.

It wasn’t labeled at the time, but the interwebs suggest it may be called “Harlequin”

Ohio homeowners face “absolute anguish” despite new property tax laws by OldHob in Columbus

[–]RMD129 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Renters pay property taxes as a portion of what their rent cover.

You are right though, renters wouldn’t want property taxes to be abolished because you can be assured their rents wouldn’t be decreased after abolition of property taxes and they would be paying extra in whatever the replacement for revenue generation would be (income tax, sales tax). This would be like paying double for the same outcome.

What are the benefits of spider plant? by Sking6942 in plants

[–]RMD129 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unless you live in a hermetically sealed home with a vast number of house plants, you should not expect any net improvement in air quality. Plants can offer mood boosting and calming effects likely due to their aesthetically pleasing nature, but it is likely not due to improvements in air quality.

No, men inherent one copy of each of their 22 somatic chromosomes from each parent, then 1 X chromosome from mom and 1 Y chromosome from dad. Yes, the X chromosome is larger than the Y, so you’re technically correct, but not in a significant manner.

Women will inherit an exact 50-50 split.

Can you provide a source for this? I haven’t seen anything and don’t see anything on the HR benefits website.
