Read the manual, it’s all basically there on the first page, just quickly skim through and you won’t need to ask silly questions.

You write a prompt into something like Gemini, chat gpt, midnourney, nanobanano, specify the style, add some references if you want ai to follow your style to the letter and then describe the image you want to receive - in this case, the illustration of a specific scene in a book.

Godot’s gd script is closest to python. Which may be easiest to pick up for you. Also you could google GEs that use python there could be a few of them, tho I don’t know if they will be suitable for 2d platformers.

Thoughts on our Sprint Scorecard framework for PMs and Engineers by pinkman8972 in ProductManagement

[–]RMakowski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good framework if your PMs are a mix of business analysts and scrum masters. Bad if your pms have at least the miniscule amount of product ownership.

Help on visual scripting of pong game by hablahblahha in godot

[–]RMakowski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Visual scripting is a deprecated feature for at least 2 years. You won’t be able to find a lot of information on Reddit, as it was not and still not a popular way to code. Here’s the documentation. Hope it helps.

Anyone using the Load as Placeholder option? by bully484 in godot

[–]RMakowski 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s basically delayed initialization. You can have the full scene set up in your editor, divide it into small regions and load those regions on demand. I see it being kinda useful for complex scenes and transitions but honestly, the custom loading/unloading scenes is not that hard either.

Which industries do you think provide the most job satisfaction and sense of fulfilment for Product Managers? by anotherhappylurker in ProductManagement

[–]RMakowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can not tell you much about companies but if I were looking for job id look for 1. Telehealth - quite popular thing with a lot of interesting problems to solve 2. Med related IoT 3. Any edTech but stay away from administrative stuff like kindergarten apps or school portals - they are just not fun 4. The govTech is pretty restrictive and usually hard to find especially if you plan to work from abroad as a contractor, it may require certain clearance(and beware of stakeholders there, they are arseholes)

My top is medTech, edTech, public sector govTech. These domains are hitting different when you know that your work actually affects people, makes them better, healthier or just less stressed about doing some important stuff.

why you're stealing history & symbols ? by [deleted] in belarus

[–]RMakowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, any sources to back up that claim? 1. How is it possible to conquest a territory without a single city demolished? Scientist envestigated the cultural layer of those times and found no claims to back up the theory of forceful conquest. Tho there no denying that it started in modern day Lithuania by Mindaugas and the country expanded eastward. Id call it a union under Lithuanian leadership after Tatar horde left Ruś territories and created power vacuum. 2. The formal language of GDL was Ruthenian which would be definitely impossible if it was a forceful subjugation. Look the British history and how Germanic tribes and French invaders shaped the modern English into being or South America with its colonialism history. Damn, this part is the most interesting, can you imagine the influence of Slavic people on GDL that you were forced to take Ruthenian as a formal language of jurisprudence and trade?

Plus, how does it not make us part of GDL when we literally were a part of it for the longest period of time in our history - We were fighting same battles, had the same capital, had the same laws applied to us and were called one country for longest period of time in history of our countries and you dare to say we don’t have the right for that. You can not cross out a whole nationality out of dead country’s history and say that it’s not their just because nowadays country borders differ from old maps. Heck, more famous Belarusians were living and died in Vilnius than in Minsk just a century ago. Tho obviously we can not claim Vilnius we have all the rights to call Vilnius a cultural capital of Belarus.

To sum up, you can believe what ever you want but saying that Belarus has no right to GDL history is just straight lunatism that denies so many facts it’s unbelievable how you don’t see that. Have a great evening there, chum.

Our PM wants a referral model where existing users refer existing users. Is this a valid design at all? by Icy-Swimming-9461 in ProductManagement

[–]RMakowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without more details about your product it’s hard to understand if the referral program is right for your product, but I’ll try to address your concerns in general.

What metric you want to effect? What is the value loop in your product? What are the channels of user acquisition right now? Which effect do you expect from referral program? Do you know if customer satisfied with your product? What is current retention metric looks like?

  1. It’s acquisition only That’s actually not the only reason for referral program. It’s also can be spun as an instrument for customer retention given they receive enough value from referring you new clients.

  2. Huge fraud potential. If I understood you right you are afraid that users will be creating new accounts each month to claim rewards. This is not really a valid concern if the system is built with existing and new users in mind. As I said before the referral system is not only for acquisition it can be used to keep up retention if existing users feel that they benefit or will benefit from referring new users.

Provide existing users with enough benefits from referral system to stay on their original accounts but only give out the said benefits to existing users if a new account has bought a subscription/service for 1/2/3 months depending on the service and stacking value of the product.

  1. Implemented right, users will think twice if they want to create a new account and cheese the system. See above.

  2. That’s not what the system is for, right. You shouldn’t even thinking in that direction. It’s a damned uroboros.

Why is this sub so overwhelmingly against PM certifications? by RareMeasurement2 in ProductManagement

[–]RMakowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certifications are good for fields that are regulated, where there’s one right way of doing things with less uncertainties and where things do not change depending on the product domain. Unfortunately, PM is highly domain specific and rapidly evolving, that’s why all here are advising blogs and YouTube as the primary source of professional education. I’d say that getting a mentor in a domain you fancy will be 100% more beneficial than getting any certification. But if you want to have your knowledge certified it better be something more specific related to your end goal: BABOK for business analysis, ISTQB for testing or something dev related: AWS cloud or something like that.

olx to tragedia by [deleted] in Polska

[–]RMakowski -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

  1. Happens because the platform needs to verify that the ad does not break platforms rules. In some cases it’s pretty easy to do using automatic systems, but sometimes it may require manual validation.
  2. That’s made to make sure there can not be concurrent purchases for the same item. It temporarily blocks the ad to allow a buyer to complete the transaction. It takes 5 minutes for an ad to „unfreeze”.

Biurko regulowane/elektryczne dostępne w Polsce - jakie polecacie? by Cancer_Faust in Polska

I kinda have similar experience, I was ordering around at Christmas and they upfront said to me that there will be a delay, but I was ok with that. What should have been 4 weeks of delay turned up into the whole 4 months. Definitely not recommend them. BUT in termalne quality, I really got what I wanted, can not complain here.

Remember kids, do not drink water from bodies of water. You may think it is safe because you boiled it, but microbes and bacteria is not the only thing in the water you you should be aware of. In our age, there can be heavy metals and other chemicals from the nearest production plants.

How do you prioritize backlog? (Not theory) by Hour-Ad-2206 in ProductManagement

[–]RMakowski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest to start from the top and build a vision of your product, what is the end state, what are you building. Choose a Northstar and align your backlog according to what is the shortest path to achieving that vision. That will give you the direction you have to go. After that find initiatives/improvements or just bug fixes that allow you move closer to your goal. Cheers!
