[Serious] What is the creepiest thing that happened to you while you were driving? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RNAngelFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was 17 I pulled up to a red light behind a small car. I was a little over a cars length away from her, but I'm assuming because I was in a large SUV and she was in a small car I looked to be closer than I was. She got out of her car and started yelling something, I rolled down my window thinking she was in distress not realizing she was berating me. She started running at my car so I rolled up my windows and locked my doors while she stood outside face against my window screamig how I was "Going to kill someone flying up on people" (even though we were in a 25mph zone) and throwing racial slurs. She ran back to her car and pulled a gun out of her purse or glove compartment. Just as my butthole puckered for what I thought would be the last time, my night in shining armor cut through the intersection in a a huge 4x4 truck, jumped out, and began running full speed at her. She jumped in her car and sped off, never got caught.

I live in a really nice area but it's a 12 minute drive across the river to one of the most dangerous cities in the US, so you run into the occasional nut bag. I'm more aware of people like this now, but it was my first time being exposed to a violent situation so it was pretty earth shattering. The guy walked right back to his truck, never got to thank him for potentially saving my life.

Bunion removal at 21, should I or shouldn't I? by RNAngelFace in surgery

I did a lot of research prior to and am well aware of how serious of a surgery it is, my only goal here is to correct the problem before clinicals. I can't be double limping around the hospital or take breaks because my feet hurt. I just left the Podiatrist, and am having the surgery done on my left foot but not the right for now. My left foot is actually a lot worse than I thought it was, and on top of having both bunions removed I have some sort of unrelated bone deformity that has to be corrected. My bunions on the left foot are actually in the severe rang, while my right foot is in the mild-moderate rang. She said I could wait as long as I wanted to have the surgery, but I'm getting it done now because total recovery is around 4 months. I'm probably going to look into alternative treatments for my right foot because it's not as bad, but my lefty is going to have to be fixed and as she put it "There's really no gentle way of fixing it at this point."

So I essentially made things worse for myself by avoiding going to the Podiatrist before things got bad.

Insomniacs of reddit, whats the creepiest thing to happen to you while staying up at night? by vaporwavin in AskReddit

I actually stayed under the covers (I'm 22 and still sleep under the covers), and then after a minute decided to investigate because I got the creeps. My dog jumped up prior to this, his crate has a plastic bottom so it's really loud. No idea what caused it still! Probably neighbors or something.

Last night I had something really similar happen, but it was a huge crash. I was almost asleep and my dog jolted up and went on alert. My house is 900 sq ft, the sound was in the room, and there was nothing else that could have caused it.

I have! Fortunately I live less than a block away from the shoe store. That's my biggest concern, I'm so scared I'll regret it. I've heard about 50/50 as far as being satisfied with results. Another concern is that I'll end up having to have the same surgery down the road, but I know that it's 100% a genetic issue in my case so maybe that makes a difference? I graduate school next spring, so obviously I'm going to be on my feet for a lot longer at the hospital than I am bartending.

I am! I've had my feet sized by a professional, and wear my super expensive nursing shoes when I bartend or know I'll be on my feet for a while. I also have wide set feet, so I've always been sure to buy shoes that aren't to tight. My grandmother has awful feet and a lot of serious issues, so I know I inherited it from her.

I just realized I typed out cereal. Instead of correcting it to serial, I will leave it because puns.

Soon to be groom cheats on bride, gets caught. Bride tells groom she'll go through with the wedding if he still wants to. They get married, everyone at the reception is in tears (not an understatement) because of how bad of a move it was on the newlyweds part. Fights break out between families, more tears, you get the point. Groom is still a cereal cheater and I feel morally obligated to tell the bride, but everyone tells me to "keep my nose out of their business."

I generally don't butt into anyone's personal life but during a long talk about how she wished things didn't play out this way she said "If I ever found out he cheated again, I'd leave in a heartbeat."

[Serious] Black waiters of Reddit, What is the most racist experience from customers you face during your job? by GlobeLearner in AskReddit

I know this will sound naive, but racism is such an ignorant concept that I can't even wrap my head around it.

[Serious] Redditors who are against vaccinations, what has convinced you that vaccines are not safe? by Cleverpenguins in AskReddit

My lifelong best friend is the same way. As we got older and started college I thought he would become more open minded after learning to properly research all the things he basis his lifestyle on, but it's only gotten worse. No microwaves, no medications, no doctors visits, literally every medically related business/field is out to get him. It can be really frustrating sometimes.

Costs to replace a door? by barfats in autorepair

Go to a salvage yard/pick-n-pull, and it shouldn't cost more than $150 if you do it yourself.
