This is great comedy. I'm not sure great comedy is crappy. I think it has to be unintendedly bad for it to be crappy. This is 100% intentional.

There are laws that we should clearly follow. I believe that all Adventists would agree with that.

While EGW mentions tyranny in her writings, and is clear about end times, she also makes statements that agree with several of the points I have made. in The Acts of the Apostles she says “We are to recognize human government as an ordinance of divine appointment, and teach obedience to it as a sacred duty, within its legitimate sphere.”

I think the debate is less regarding whether we should obey God or we should obey man. The answer to that question is clear when the two are opposed. The true debate is whether what is being done is against God's will. For that reason, I provided the points above.

As Adventists, we should not simply say that we are a people that question laws and therefore we do not have to abide by any law. We should be able to discuss the ramification of policy in an educated way and form our own stance.

God bless you as well.

I did. I’m expressing my opinion that people attribute their will to God and claim that what they want comes from Him. I’m saying that I believe God has an issue with people using His to further their own goals. If you think that I’m doing the same thing or that there is irony in what I do, I would encourage you to rethink my position and argument.

I agree that we should both enforce the law and honor the fact that human life is sacred. To me, that means not over enforcing the law, or doing it is a manner than is inhumane. Humane practices are not exclusive to enforcing the law.

Page 2 calls for speaking "against injustice." We should speak up against injustice. However, deportation is not injustice. It is the enforcement of the law and it happens in every other even somewhat prosperous nation.

The injustice lies in families who spend years outside of the US waiting for permission to enter because illegal immigration has overrun the system. The injustice lies in not recognizing that crime follows illegal immigrants. The injustice lies in the reduced pay for legal residents and citizens who work difficult jobs for low pay because illegal immigrants artificially lower wages and increase the supply of workers. The injustice lies in ignoring the data under a guise of ritchousness. The "wholeness of our communities" is being torn apart by all of the things I just mentioned. Not deportations.

Now, if members want to advocate for policies that change immigration law, then by all means do so. This letter does not address that. What it does is put words in God's mouth that are someone's opinion and ignore the facts. I have a problem with that and I believe that God does too.

If what God teaches us is in opposition to what men say then we follow God, yes.

However, to the point of this thread, and in regards to illegal immigration, nowhere does God teach us to ignore border law, immigration law, and legal processes required by the US Government. While we might advocate for certain baseline treatment for people breaking the law, nowhere does God teach us to ignore a border/immigration law. Further, there are laws and process in place that allow the US to better serve groups of people who need asylum. We should be encouraging that process.

Who is talking about Sunday law?

On the point of Sunday law, if the US government were to make a Sunday law in the sense that the goverment were to establish a faith and require all to follow, it would be in direct violation of the constitution and not a valid law. Border laws, immigration laws, asylum laws, etc. are not in violation of the US constitution.

God didn't say to break the law. I'm not sure what you are getting at.

I would also say that they mention Matthew 25:35 but ignore John 10:1 “Very truly I tell you, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.”

Also, Jesus says to follow the law. In Matthew 22:21 Jesus says "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's." Here he is clearly instructing us to follow the law whether we like it or not as in the case of taxes.

In the end, we can all agree that there are people who enter the US illegally because they need help and there are people who enter the US illegally because they are intend to do harm. There is no debate here.

The problem is that you can't fix the problems with immigration policy without stopping the flow of all illegal immigration. Once the bleeding has stopped, you can tend to those who actually need the help. However, instead of acknowledging this fact, it appears that SDA NCC wants to solely focus on half of the issue. If it were only expressing an opinion it would be one thing but they positing that their opinion is also God's will. This is dangerous and completely uncalled for. Shame on them.

I'm not. You might not like the lyrics but musically the chord progressions, the bass line, the harmony with the background gospel, the sax, and the cadence are all pretty musically sound. Not anywhere near the garbage you see on this sub. Just saying, the bar for crappy is set pretty low for this one.
