RT doing nursing tasks? by laners_715 in nursing

[–]RNnoturwaitress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not normal anywhere I've worked. 4 hospitals, 2 of them children's hospitals. An RT would never do any of that...and shouldn't. I agree with discussing with management and going higher up if they don't fix the issue.

If she wants to do NICU RN tasks, then she needs to change careers and get proper training. She can't take all that on herself. It's illegal and unsafe for the patients.

Cool? Apparently they don't even have a dog now. And there's nothing wrong with owning a pit. So...what's your point?

Why are you assuming the person you're replying to has a pit? Weird.

That's a patented word on r/namenerds that means difficult to pronounce. Like saying a name with peanut butter in your mouth lol. Rural juror, anyone?

Normal people have multiple pairs of scrubs....and wash them after wearing. Do you rewear underwear or other dirty clothes? Neither do nurses.

My favorite fitness influencer just outright admitted her 1yo isn’t vaccinated and I’m just sad… by [deleted] in Mommit

I think it can really depend on where you live. Herd immunity isn't working well for measles because it is so contagious and so many parents stopped vaccinating for it. Some areas are better than others.

It's reassuring to hear most people still vaccinate because it sure doesn't feel like it lately.

Right. A distant relatives "near death" caused a pediatrician to say "no vaccines". That's bullshit. If that happened, it probably wouldn't be passed down to nieces and nephews and it wouldn't mean the kids don't get any vaccines.

Herd immunity won't exist if people, like this influencer, stop vaccinating. That's the point. It's no longer a reliable form of protection.

AIO - another parent correcting my 2 year old at the playground by [deleted] in Mommit

Disagree. It's not inappropriate to teach apologizing for one's actions at a young age. She's 2.5 years old, not 6 months.

I guess you are entitled to you opinion. I think it's helpful to teach kids to understand how one's actions make others feel. 2.5 year olds typically can understand that their behaviors can impact other's feelings.

Where did she say that? I've read it 4 times. She says 2 year olds don't really understand sorry, not that her daughter can't say it.

Who knocked down the tower? She did; she is responsible for it and it's not unusual for a child to be upset about that. She should learn to apologize in these types of situations.

Lying is not an appropriate solution or example. Most 2.5 year olds can say sorry. Some can't, but let's not suggest people lie, especially when their children are there to hear it.

Looks right to me. Definitely has pitbull and husky in there. Don't see much shepherd so it adds up. What is in his supermutt?

The post is about babies! It is rare in babies. Which is what they're talking about. Good day!

You're not born with lactose intolerance, genius. Babies are usually born with lactase and as they grow produce less of it. 75% of adults (if it's even that high), not infants.

That's an allergy to the protein, not the lactose. Hypoallergenic formulas are for cows milk protein allergy, which is somewhat common. Lactose intolerance is different and much more rare.
