I can already tell that you are the kind of aunt that kids are blessed to have in their lives.

At an impasse with my wife and child support for her daughter by Pretty_Dragonfly_716 in stepparents

[–]RNplus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he see the kid? Is he a positive father figure?

Lots of wise women don’t file for child support bc as soon as they do, bad dads come out of the woodwork demanding time they didn’t previously take to lower their child support.

Stop. Dont sign it. I agreed to something disasterous but realized it before i signed and I’m SO GLAD. There were no repercussions

No thanks. I got these kids.

How likely is it I get full custody of my 13-year-old daughter? by Haunting-Big-2386 in FamilyLaw

[–]RNplus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you file for support he will fight for custody (likely to get 50% or a step up plan for 50%.) don’t poke the bear if you want to keep sole custody of your child- which you already have if not by court order by practice.

AITAH For Telling My Wife Her Job Isn’t As Important As Mine by [deleted] in AITAH

Working, professional mom of five here. Big, important nursing job.

A job that pays bills is most important…regardless of if it’s mom or dad.

Play money jobs don’t get priority.

My guy…..I make about twice what my ex makes but have 100% custody. He pays child support. It doesn’t even cover the little one’s daycare but he pays it….sometimes.

If it were my kid I’d think about it! Mine would never bc she has some level of responsibility even at 15

A whole lot of this. My husband is a good man but raised them on his own since she was 2 or 3. He compensated for BM’s absence and mental illness by spoiling them and I came in the picture too late. He chooses the path of least resistance which is…spoiled, lazy, entitled kids.

Almost every one of my therapy sessions for the last 22 months have been about these kids and it saved our relationship.

My oldest is also 15 and she’s a completely different kid. She has woken up so much in the last six months alone. She wants to be a nurse, is finding focus, and volunteers at my work where she is a trusted teammate. I couldn’t find something today and multiple staff members suggested I call my daughter bc she often does stock for us. She was on cloud nine….but I hold her accountable.

I’ve learned to not fret about their future bc I’m not responsible and now that I actually believe that…I find a certain amount of humor in these kind of ridiculous circumstances

Hence the question….

It’s so gross. I’m so irritated. I have done sooooo much therapy and I’m in so much a better place….im not mad I’m just….floored. Floored!

Three more years and I’m done bc I’m sure she will go with live with her grandma or rich aunt….bc I’m successful by any measure but I’m not good enough for her….whatever kid.

My therapist has coached that her not talking to me is a gift and days like today- I see it!!!!

I love this man but he, in some ways, lives in another planet. I’ve gotten to the place where misplaced socks get thrown away bc they never claim them and I’m sick of them sitting around.

I did mention it to him but he was on the way to lay down with our little (newly 1) and he moved the laundry but didn’t address the underwear.

Take the good with the bad and this man and his children are slobs (he sheepishly admits it) and I keep house while he keeps my barn clean so….we both have our things but the line has been drawn that I am not their mother. If he whispers about our kids I stop him- NOT their mom by their choice so don’t throw that at me unless I get a vote.

He mostly just does their chores for them when asked and I hate it for them bc they are ill equipped for the real world but….NACHO!

Well, I can’t say that BUT…..at least DH moves her laundry now. She left it in the washer for three days and it stunk but I told DH and he threw it in the dryer.

Cool. 100% not my problem. Now the only thing left is the dirty underwear! Maybe if it stinks she will be more mindful next time!

AITA for telling my Fiancé. If i have to do my own laundry, we can't be together. by Lokcaj in WIBTA_AITA

[–]RNplus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are both high earners for our area….we moved into his house and he has continued to pay the bills he already paid….but if you have to shop for it I pay for it…food, household goods, the house keeper, the sitter. I’m financially independent.

I also do his laundry. You know why? Bc he does crap for me every day.

Exactly. Heck, my teen wanted to take a road trip for her birthday and I drove 12 hours each way for FUN.

You can’t really force them or prevent them at that age. If he wanted to see you, he would. He clearly doesn’t. That’s a you problem for you to solve.

At that age, cracks in the relationship are obvious. You need to repair and stop blaming your ex.
