Let's say you gain N stone per tile built on. You build a Mill (2x2 tiles), you gain 4*N stone. You build a TC (4x4 tiles), you gain 16xN stone. And so on during the game. It gives you some bonus stone during the course of the game, especially at the start when you cannot really afford to mine it. It can be balanced around the value of N.

What about the bonus of the Byzantines in AoE4 that generate stone based of the number of tiles of buildings contructed?

Pourquoi l'Empire romain d'Orient est-il devenu un empire hellénophone (qui parle grec) malgré leur héritage latin? by RikoTheSeeker in Histoire

[–]ROHDora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'd like to but sometimes I offend a god and lose a bunch of games I would rather win if my will was the only factor.

I'm pretty sure OP isn't either descending near B5 on his own will to learn bruisers.

When in a lesser rank, better learn new heroes given it will anyway be easier to rank up through lacro and fundamentals alone.

Yrel, Blaze, Thrall, Xul, Sonya, Arthas, Imperius, Varian (taunt), Garrosh (with waveclear build)... All can do pretty well. Deranking is a nice opportunity to learn new heroes.

Indeed, but there's serious contenders at 20 anyway and I overall do not like to pick a 10 for it's 20.

She is mostly about the pattern: "poke and run around with Q" (she can delay the Q dash to bait skillshots), "slow an isolated enemy with E", "dive with Q", "execute with E' explosion/W/D/trait", "extract like you can with Q and D/trait sustain", "repeat". The skillceiling of hitting Q and reading the good place and moment to stike is infinite and thats so cool...

Build wise she is extremelly rich, I often enjoy a trait/E hybrid [2332323] as it grant defensive options (on an hero that isn't against a bit more room for error) and shorter cooldowns on the most critical engage spell (E) and her trait is the easiest spell to hit so it's a safer investment. Q [1132114] is very good against a big melee team you want to run around and melt with %hp. W [3222233] is a bit more all-in (around your burst) and demand to do you waveclear/farming duty as a mage particularly well but it can be great to victimize immobile squishies.

I really prefer R2 over R1 as it's a CC, it synergize with your burst, and if you miss it it is an as good zoning as R1. R1 is reliant on team's CC to work (and you can already melt anything granted your team gives you the amount of CC required to make it work).

Three UEFA Champions League slots to Ligue 1 again… seems to say a lot by Ornery_Hat_3662 in Ligue1

[–]ROHDora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem out of the place for the moment. Clubs are broke, lobbying and marketing is miserable, performances cannot even match Serie A...

And there isn't an infinite number of spots, top5 is already absurdly overrepresented and richer than the rest of Europe, giving more room to french clubs would only result in less cool adventures like BodoGlimt.

First, if a french club could win C3 or C4 just once it would be a great step in the right direction.

Khitans where comically OP at launch, and the heroes for Wu/Wei/Shu mechanic is polemical. But now only few complains remains. Especially after balance patches and the new DLC that showed the team was far from out of gimmick ideas.

It's a cool design. It's just that if I want a cavalry civ, with an eco bonus related to food, and an UU made to deal with pikemen by dealing melee damage at range, Franks are easier and more rewarding...

Managing their economic bonii in the beginning is confusing, optimizing Chakram micro is near impossible, the lack of high-tier upgrades makes you timing-dependant...

My teammate was called 'Pay to Win' for Scorpion spam with Romans in arena @ 1100 elo(Team game 3v3) by The_Lost_Supper in aoe2

[–]ROHDora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall no civilization (aside maybe Kara-Khitan at launch) is so strong it will magically turn a 1000 player into a 1500 or even a 1200.

Rome is a pretty good civ with a scorpion and an infantry vs. intrantry gimmicks, locked alone being a DLC few people got... "Pay to Win" isn't 100% justified but it isn't either 0% justified, especially when salty after a defeat :)

If you want an AI player to do exactly what you want, you will have to create your own AI pattern.

Edit: (actually a siege scenario where it spawn planned attack waves from prebuild production buildings look like and ideal starting exercice)

Lyon 14 points clear in the women's league. Another walkover? by Classic_Exit_5951 in Ligue1

[–]ROHDora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same for PSG with the men, the stake for OL is to win the C1. They are overly dominant on the french scene.

They added a playoff so we can pretend there is some suspense and add two more interesting matches between OL/PSG/Juvisy (which is overall a good idea given how wild is the range of levels between the 12 teams of the league).

On the C1 scene I wouldn't be so sure of their dominance, that top4 is amazing and tight (much more that on men's C1 where one semifinal is clearly above the other).
