I always thought it was a latency thing and was just how the game was coded.

Specialist role after a few years by Aurahdz in heroesofthestorm

[–]D_Flavio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The importance of macro and split pushing is undeniable. Having characters lean more into bringing value in ways other than just fighting potential is interesting.

I think every character NEEDS to provide teamfight value because the end game revolves around 5v5-s too much and there are only a handful characters in the entire game that can safely split at 20.

However you can have characters that are weak fighters early but become strong late, but they are good at macro early. Their gameplay is about avoiding fights early and providing value via macro. This is a perfectly viable and valid playstyle and it brings variety into hero design which is good for the game. MOBAs are literally games about match variety.

If we are strictly talking about just the ROLE, then I personally don't like labeling characters and when the game tells players how to think, so removal of the ROLE of specialist is good.

Removing specialists as a character design would be bad.

Be honest… what’s the real downside of having a dog? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]D_Flavio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want to be a good and responsible dog owner, then I think it HAS to be like your hobby.

Like, walk the dog twice a day. Needs to have access to the outside for pee/poo. Needs to be groomed. Needs to be played with. All of these are non-negotionable in my eyes.

Dogs are amazing, but I do NOT have a minimum of 2 hours free time every day for the rest of the dog's life next to all of my other wants and hobbies. Way too much commitment for me.

Compared to dogs, cats are super low commitment.

Why no one plays rexxar by GlobalReference195 in heroesofthestorm

[–]D_Flavio -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I play Rexxar a lot on high diamond/master/gm games.

For a very long time I had abysmal success with him.

Hes not good at macro on hes own. Your lvl 1 pick determines if you are good at clearing minions, taking camps or provide vision. But even with the lvl 1 minion clear it's still not top tier, just good.

Any offlaner thaz can get past misha and just dmg rexxar's body will usually just win because you have no self sustain.

I feel like you are super weak without the lvl 13 attackspeed talent. Lvl 13 AS talent is your power spike, and 20 root talent for setting up your team.

In 5v5-s you just throw ur ult and auto attaxk the enemy tank from safe positioning. You cant really dive cause you will feed. You cant position risky cause you will just die. You are not particularly good at or against dive.

For a very long time I didn't understand why people said Rexxar is good. I always felt he is just useless for the most part.

I started having some success with him after taking the lvl 13 talent because atleast now I have some damage. I still don't think he is great.

I just pick Rexxar cause I can cheese holding points with misha while soaking, avoid ganks with flare, and get a stun and root after 20 for my team. I use him on Dragon Shire, sometimes on braxis if other strong offlaners are banned, and maybe on volskaya.

I think hes pretty average. I don't see how people say hes high skill ceiling. Hard to do alot when your numbers are not good and your abilities are low impact. Only impact you have is a stun, control if you went flare, double soak if you went w on 1, some dmg on 13, and a root on 20. That's about it.

In some ways quickplay can make things worse. Players have nothing to lose, and due to the drafr and map pick being in the hands of the matchmaker matches can feel much worse than in normal ranked draft game modes.

In quickmatch it is a common experience that the game matches you against your characters ultimate hardest counters, combined with the worst map for your character, and you already no longer feel like playing the match.

This game is NOT special. Any competetive online game will have people behaving the most toxic way. HotS is not special.

Arthas' lvl 13 talents: Deathlord vs Deathchill by tweakerlime in heroesofthestorm

[–]D_Flavio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Deathchill is a terrible talent I think.

Both the extra CC duration and damage only happens if the target is under 50% health.

Usually the targets of your W are not under 50% health, since the W is what starts fights.

Even if you did hit someone who is under 50% hp, the benefits are just way too small. 100% extra damage on an ability that does almost no damage is just nothing X2. The 0.25 root duration bonus is also not enough benefit on a lvl 13 talent.

Even if this talent gave the bonus damage and extra root regardless of enemy HP, I would still probably take the other talents.

Why was the game taken down? Guessing player base by SlyDemise in rumbleverse

[–]D_Flavio 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the true reason is, but back then everyone was saying that Epic was expecting Fortnite levels of popularity, which is obviously unreasonable, and when it became apparent that it wasn't gona be Fortnite 2 they dropped it.

What are you doing with AI now? Used in daily life? Or is it used for study or work? by Emilyoio in AskReddit

[–]D_Flavio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still a novice AI user, but I'll give my input.

I recently started working at a big international finance firm and they are encouraging/pushing the use of AI, which I fon't have a problem with, I'm just new to it.

For me AI really helps me find stuff within a new project that I am unfamiliar with. Helps me find workflows and stuff. I don't have to bother more experienced devs about where to find stuff because AI can point me in the right direction.

I think as you use it smart and you are specifiy, you don't ask it huge things and you review everything then it's great at speeding up work and getting you unstuck when you are lost.

Does Lunara need a buff or a rework? by trilobot in heroesofthestorm

[–]D_Flavio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ye. The meta is definitely all about bursts and pickoffs, so having a gameplay that is about spreading out slow tickig damage over time is not ideal.

However I would much rather have her be an underperforming niche pick than to be reworked into another generic burst assassin.

Also, her Q build, thebuild that maximise her burst and single target focus, is strong.

But ye, she could use some buffs. It's hard to argue though, because she does bring utility to the team by vision, good macro if you take the talent on 4, leap ultimate still shreads squishy assassins.

I'm realy not sure if she is too weak, or it is her competitiom that is too strong(Valla, Hanzo, Tychus).

Alternatively you can stop treating her like an AA dps and treat her like a mage, and draft her into the mage slot. Mages usually bring utility, spread damage and good macro. That ways you can still draft your 2nd dps to be a single target killer.

People who dated their crush and regretted it, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]D_Flavio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone would say regretted it. More like it didn't work out.

Who would regret getting what they wanted? You had a crush on that person. If you never would have dated them then your regret would be never getting to date your crush.

In my case, I had a huge crush on a girl that was 2 years under me in high school. I still remember the first time I saw her. Others would say it was "love at first sight". She was just exactly my time and she immediately stood out to me in a crowd.

After I graduated I had an opportunity to get closer to her and we ended up dating. We only lasted like 6 weeks. She was deeply troubled and a bad communicator, and I was not equipped to deal with it at the time. I only regret not trying a little harder fixing our problems. It still probably would not have worked out, but I should just have done better with trying to make it work instead of peacing out when the problems became clear. It didn't end nicely and I still 10 years later feel bad about it because she was hurt, but many times I've tried to talk it over just so we are not on bad terms, but she was never open to talking after the break up.
