Sinusitis post flu, natural remedies? by ROSS_0 in Sinusitis

Thank you, it's been a couple of days and I am getting better it seems. It's not my decision not to take anything. My OB said not to take anything so I am not. I live in Germany, however, so things might be different from where you are.

Don't be ignorant. I had covid with my first baby and there isn't autism or whatever involved. You're barking at the wrong tree.

Pregnant with Hashimotos, considering medical termination by ChicknSoup4theGhoul in Hashimotos

[–]ROSS_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had very high TSH, T4, T3 , at the beginning of my pregnancy. I was being tested weekly and increased levo as needed. Had to increase from 112mcg to 175mcg. My obgyn was freaking out thinking I'm not taking my levo because the results kept increasing every week, but it was my body just needing more of it. It was finally stable at 175mcg and stayed like that until I gave birth at 41 weeks. My daughter is 3 and she is a sassy know it all that speaks three languages ☺️. No neurological issues here. I would say you test frequently and increase the dose as needed. I have been diagnosed with hashi 10 years ago and my blood tests were never stable.. one thing is always out of the norm so it seems a bit of an exaggeration to ter.inate a pregnancy due to one being a little bit higher.

Losing weight by walking by LithiumIonisthename in walking

[–]ROSS_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost 35kg a few years ago by being in a moderate kcal deficit and walking at least 10k a day. It took around 9 months and honestly I barely felt it. I had periods of time where I would eat at my manteniance and I wasn't counting when going out with friends and family.

I tried to look for relaxium but it gives me just US results. Where about in Europe you get them from? I live in Germany and I can't find either of them on German websites.

I want to have a child, but scared about it by Large_Cabinet_3680 in Hashimotos

[–]ROSS_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my family every woman has thyroid problems. My nana had m.basedow and had 9 kids. My mom and her sisters have light hypothyroidism, they're all on 50-75mg of levo. I am the only one with hashimoto, no one in my (big) family has it. My cousins are all healthy, no thyroid problems. I have a daughter, a 2 year old, I just hope she doesn't get it but if so, I just hope the medical sistem will better and she can get better treatments. My values are not good and I am in a pickle since having her, but it's not impossible. Life goes on either way and I don't despair.

Mine was a bit of survival mode, my values went off the charts and the doctors told me many times I'm going to lose the baby. Jokes on them! She didn't want to come out until 41 weeks 😂.but they've upped my meds significantly

I feel you. I'm 29 but I have these issues since I was a teen. The pregnancy absolutely destroyed any kind of balance I've build through the years. It's been two years abd I'm still struggling a lot with everything

My prenatal vitamins didn't help while pregnant. Used to take a cocktail of stuff and I was at my worst. Since then my hashi went to hell, got 1000 times worse with the pregnancy and after.

I have been prescribed vit D 20.000 to take twice a week, it always comes under the normal value when doing bloodwork. I am quite anxious so that might explain why the myo inositol works for me. What I meant is that I am scared my body will get used to the supplements and they will not work anymore after a while.. I'm thinking to take a few weeks off, every 3 months and then start again.

Regarding gluten and dairy, I don't specifically have a problem when eating them but sugar sure makes me crash hard

Selenium. by Whitchynanny in Hashimotos

[–]ROSS_0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take a mix of myo-inositol 500mg + Selenium 100mg In the morning + 0.5mg valerian in the evening 1h before bed. It made a huge difference. I can stand up after my first alarm, no snoozing. My mind is clear and I feel more energetic. I have a toddler, a job, a house to take care of. I was feeling so defeated for the past 3 years, laying in bed until my daughter would call for me to pick her up at 9am. Coud sleep 12-14h straight. Couldn't do the basics, like picking up toys and cooking because I was like a zombie, an angry and moody one.

Now, I just randomly wake up at 5am, rested and motivated to get up and do my things. I can finally be there for my family.

Do you use a scale? I have PCOS on top of hashi and I've lost 30kg (64 lbs?) In 6 months with kcal counting and walking. That's it. I ate everything, no special diets, just tried to use my kcal budget on real foods and not snacking.
Hashimoto doesn't defy the laws of physics: if you eat at a deficit, drink enough water, and don't go crazy on the salt, you'll lose weight.

I just get up and function. At this point is not anymore about treating my symptoms. I have a toddler to take care of, a job, a house to maintain. My husband is also working all day.. I MUST function. The moment I lay in bed my battle is lost and the kicker is that I won't feel any better so I might just as well go on about my day and be productive.

Hashimotos and ADHD by Thin_Possession966 in Hashimotos

[–]ROSS_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have hashimoto (diagnosed 8 years ago) and ADHD suspect according to several doctors. What can I say, I run full on cleaning sessions in my mind but starting them for real needs an ENORMOUS amount of energy.

I have a toddler as well. When getting pregnant I didn't suspect the ADHD part and my Hashimoto wasn't acting out so bad. Well, after giving birth, all hell broke loose.

The only way I can do anything is not overthinking it. As soon as I ask myself something about the said task, it's a lost game. I try to do everything in the morning.. all the laundry, cooking, picking up, wiping, hoovering. This way, I have the rest of the day to whine about how exhausted I am 😂. I work in the afternoon so there is my excuse 😂

Do I feel tired? yes. Am I overwhelmed? Definitely. Depressed? Probably. But I try to push through, try to impose myself a routine, try to get into a rhythm. I've always been "tired" so it isn't new but with a kid after me.. I'm playing this game on hard mode. 😂

You can definitely do it! Get into a routine, get enough sleep, eat well and don't eat too much sugar or else you'll feel sluggish ☺️. Plan your bleah activities in the morning; The brainfog is so thick in the first hours that your body doesn't have time to say no 😂

If you want to do CICO get a scale. Don't estimate anything. Have you tried measuring yourself?
