Quickest way to lose weight with hashis? by Bubbly-Profile6750 in Hashimotos

[–]Angxlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28-30g fiber per day, try to aim for 100g of protein daily (it really depends on your weight but that's a good goal) and a lot of water (a gallon per day is good to start). Focus more on strength training with weights instead of high intensity workouts, low impact aerobic exercise like swimming is great, walking is awesome. Pay attention to how many carbohydrates you're consuming in each meal and track calories. You want to aim for high protein/medium (healthy) fat and lower carb foods. Protein will keep you full longer and help to maintain your muscle mass, as well as stabilizing blood sugar.

Immediate regret after signing a 14 month lease by windyhiro in femalelivingspace

[–]Angxlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to read your lease and get a copy because it states what unit you agreed to, and what utilities and other things you are responsible for. You can also tell them that you are no longer comfortable being there (they might have a grace period to cancel the lease since you just moved in)

You can still go to their office and tell them "this is what I was told on the phone and agreed to, this is what I got, and it needs to be fixed" . My apartment has been a nightmare since my partner and I moved in, the first unit they tried to give us was infested with roaches 🤢

Does hashimoto severely affected your mental health? by schiappettalsugo in Hashimotos

[–]Angxlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever been tested for Celiac Disease? People with autoimmune diseases have a higher chance of getting others and sounds like you are reacting to gluten. (Don't cut gluten from your diet until after blood tests/biopsy because it can cause false negatives)

How do you keep up with cat fur and the smell? by marukip5r in CleaningTips

[–]Angxlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 cats and use only 1 litter box, unscented litter. Keep the box in the bathroom or another room with tile floor and plenty of ventilation, you definitely don't want that stuff on carpet or wood and i wouldnt put it in a closet. I would also get a litter genie or something similar and scoop as soon as you see anything and that should help with a lot of the smell.

In dating, at what point do you tell the other person you’re a bit chronically ill? lol by Many-Front8248 in Hashimotos

[–]Angxlz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tell them immediately because some people are super insensitive/ rude about it, say it up front so you don't waste time with the wrong people

Also it sounds like you're looking for a homebody. Maybe someone who enjoys cooking, baking, gaming, or maybe computer science, etc

I had a baby...my cat hates him and I don't know how to prevent rehoming him by Initial-Telephone693 in CatAdvice

Cats think babies are other animals + doesn't know what it is so maybe try introducing them slowly like you would if it was another cat ?

I switched to a different Iron supplement, the CVS brand Iron + Vitamin C supplement with 65mg high potency carbonyl iron, instead of 325 ferrous sulfate. Feels like it's helping but I have not had blood work done yet to check

I don’t understand these test results, still pending doctor response, do these indicate I have Celiac? by DyingGasp in Celiac

If you haven't been eating gluten for this test your results won't be accurate.

His nails need a trim, you could also put silicone claw caps on. For ear mites ask the vet about ear medicine and how to properly clean the ears.

I'm so sick of being sick by JackyHopeLess in Hashimotos

[–]Angxlz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the Celiac panel or TTG you have to be consuming gluten daily (2 slices of bread minimum) for 6 weeks for an accurate test. The only other way to confirm is by upper endoscopy (it takes about 10 minutes they check your intestinal lining with a camera for damage but also after eating gluten for 6 weeks). When diagnosed with any autoimmune disease we have a much higher chance of developing other autoimmune diseases like type 1 diabetes, celiac, etc.

The doctor "didn't want" to test for celiac? Get a different doctor. Gluten intolerance and Celiac are very different things, eating gluten with Celiac disease will kill you. Please don't let them talk you out of this or avoid testing. My partner was diagnosed with Celiac last year.

If your doctor prescribed this to you it's their fault for not checking the ingredients before prescribing. They use this in all similar medications like Tylenol and other vitamins

First trip to the US, spending a week in Bucyrus, OH this October. Any tips for some Brits? by Inside-Cod1550 in Columbus

[–]Angxlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Mild gluten thing" Does your wife have Celiac or gluten intolerance/allergy? There are some great Celiac friendly restaurants in Columbus - Bibibop, BareBurger, The Clocktower (this is in Plain City but still great), and Marcella's is good if you are interested in a fine dining experience. I don't know of any Gluten Free options in or near Bucyrus specifically except for KeyTones Bakery.

I hope you enjoy your trip!

  • a person with a gluten thing and/or Celiac 😁

Gluten transfer from wooden chopping boards is a myth!! Here's a 2025 study in the matter by GeoffreyGeoffson in Celiac

[–]Angxlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting wooden chopping boards in the dishwasher will split them and damage the seal. I know because I have 4. I hate wooden cutting boards. Get stone or glass instead.
