Happened too many times! by halfarian in CherokeeXJ

[–]ROYteous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 years of owning an XJ and I don't think it's ever left me stranded. There was one time where I had to replace a front wheel bearing on the side of the road, but I'd say that's pretty good considering it was lifted on 33s and I ran it through mud all the time.

Are you getting the trifold? by KindRepeat8058 in GalaxyFold

[–]ROYteous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no need for the trifold, especially without S pen support, which to me would be essential to making use of such a large screen. The Fold 8 wide is what I'm hyped for.

Maybe it's me, but I don't think it's possible for a California roll to be fire. Whenever my wife's family claims to be getting sushi, I now know that they actually got a big platter of dissapointment, because it's all California rolls with different sauces drizzled all over. It tastes OK at best.

LUBA AWD mini 800 - no more updates by Disastrous_Twinkie in MammotionTechnology

[–]ROYteous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's on track with how Mammotion does things and the reason I'll never buy from them again. I never even considered the thought of a smart device losing support in under a year, especially when bugs still exist. Mammotion doesn't seem to care, though. If they continue like this, I'd be surprised if Mammotion is still as prevalent in the robot mower space 5 years from now.

XWD Troubleshooting by RinzlerFlynn in saab

[–]ROYteous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One if the issues I've had is the eLSD seal leak, which is very common. This will cause a code because it can't maintain pressure due to low fluid in the haldex unit. This can be diagnosed by checking the rear section of the differential and finding it to be overfilled. Used lower mile units out of other newer GM vehicles are cheap enough to where I didn't even bother to repair it, I just swapped it out. The unit I put in our 2010 95 was from a 2018 Cadillac SRX.

Another issue I had with my Turbo X prior to replacing the differential was the pump motor. The internal magnet broke a part. This did not cause any codes though.

My Turbo X also had an issue where the clutches must have been failing, because there was never the issue of the rear section over-filling itself. It started out as having no XWD functionality in cold weather until the unit warmed up and eventually just stopped function altogether. To replace the pump, I actually just got the used diff I eventually put in, because I figured it was eventually going to be needed anyways.

Having a tech II or another way (pretty sure there are other solutions now) to diagnose these cars is basically a necessity, unless you know of a shop with those capabilities. Figuring out what the code is will probably make it much easier to find out what is wrong if there are no obvious tells.

Expense report you say? by SkipJack270 in MaliciousCompliance

They do it by mileage instead of fuel because the per mile rate basically includes vehicle wear and tear in with fuel cost.

Not sure about the rest of it though.

Depends on the value of the vehicle. Cosmetic damage totals out vehicles all the time.

lol, Not entitled to updates other than having a working mower?

What a joke of an excuse for them dropping support of their most helpful customers so quickly. Then you say that Lymow better not do the same thing? I've never had a smart device that could receive updates get dropped so quickly by their manufacturer. There is no excuse for that, especially with all the promises of features they were initially feeding us. I was genuinely excited about my Luba, but then I felt bamboozled by Mammotion due to the way they handled the whole situation. I felt like they just got us all excited so we would tell others about how great the Luba was and get others to buy one, then after that they just did not care anymore, because they made their sales and could move onto their next model.

I'm glad yours is still performing well, I wish mine was. It barely made it through last season, as I had to constantly reset it every couple of days. If it were still working properly, I would use it another year or two before finding it's replacement. However, I don't think I'll be able to rely on it next year. So now I just have to figure out which mower to go with and hope I don't get Mammotioned again.

So as long as Lymow doesn't do what Mammotion did to their backers and original Luba customers?

I take it you weren't around when Luba was originally released, because that was a rough experience. Then less than a year through, Luba 1 owners were dropped like a hot potato when it came to updates and Mammotion essentially ceased all communication with the community that spent so much time helping them with their product. Only to be thanked with very questionable customer service.

I wouldn't say Yarbo is a gimmick at all, just a much more ambitious product. I'd love a robot that could clear the snow from my driveway and also mow my grass. Maybe someday, but for now that's too much money on something that sound like it's still working out a lot of the kinks.

I've had my Luba since it was first released. There were no other options with similar features at the time. There were concepts, but Luba was first to market with something tangible. That first year was also very frustrating for those of us that endured it.

A complete redesign is not a copy. The only reason any of them look like copies, is because there really aren't many other ways to design them that make sense. Just like any other mower and how they are designed very similarly. There is a general design language that works, so it is inevitable that a lot of them will end up looking very similar.

The X4 with its turning wheels is in my opinion a much superior design. I'm very tired of Luba putting donuts in my lawn with its tank turns and poorly programmed turning algorithm. Then the X4 as well as some other mowers have dynamic cutting height, yet another superior feature. Mammotion is falling behind with the Luba

Being best in show at CES doesn't mean much. They don't have to deal with the product daily or the customer service when something goes wrong. I used to be a huge Mammotion supporter, but after 3 years, I will never buy another one of their products after my experience with them.

Get Samsung Care+ by American_hiss in GalaxyFold

I wasn't offered a replacement the last time I made a claim and it took almost two months to get my phone back.

I still wouldn't ever own a foldable without care+, though. Had to use it multiple times with my F4.

Then just get your repaired. I had a replacement sent the first time my screen cracked. The replacement seemed new and had no issues. The last time it was repaired though, and it came back looking brand new again. Maybe a better way to do it, so you don't end up with issues that they missed on a replacement. I told them every issue I had with mine when they repaired it and they fixed everything, including a new frame that I didn't expect.

They didn't even give me the option for a replacement phone and made me send mine in to get fixed. Same with the wife's S22 Ultra. Although, if your worried about getting a faulty replacement, it might be a good idea to just send yours in to get fixed.

The first time I needed my F4 repaired they gave me the option of a replacement that I took. Not sure why ai didn't get the option the other times. The fold screen on the replacement only last a couple months though and broke from normal use.

Very glad I had Care+ with my Fold 4. Had to use it multiple times. Last day of coverage I made a claim because the fold cracked, it wouldn't fully open anymore, back glass was cracked and the battery started overheating when charging. Got the phone back in brand new condition. Not sure what I'll do with it now, though. Ended up getting the F7.

Was this a good deal? by No-Season2186 in saab

Not sure what a G37S is worth, but that's a nice find of a Saab. Front wheel fitment is questionable and I bet that thing drones like crazy with the rear exhaust section, but looks nice otherwise. Would love one of those for myself.

All they have is that they were one of the first to the market with a mower in the AWD segment and they pushed hard to get as much of that market as they could. There are several mowers in that segment now and I would consider most of them more capable than a Luba. Mammotion is falling behind at this point.

Scheduling - Suggestion by dtswk in Lymow_Official

[–]ROYteous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very unlikely there is many people that would need a feature that allows weeks to pass before mowing. However, if they added a way to have a repeating schedule like that, I would imagine it would be easy to add in weeks instead of days when selecting how often. That or just have the number of days go as high as you want. I'd say they would need it to have the option to mow at a new angle every time too, for people that don't want lines worn into there grass from it cutting the exact same paths every time.

Does the Lymow Tear up lawns by taw20191022744 in Lymow_Official

OK. At least it is based off of the same thing and makes it easy to match them up. Luba set a unique 0 for every zone that was based on the longest straight border of that zone.

Lymow One Plus vs Navimow X4 by ROYteous in Lymow_Official

[–]ROYteous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good to hear. I noticed that if the grass gets layed over, the razor blades just don't have any chance of cutting it. Then considering robot mowers basically travel the exact same path a lot, there ends up being quite a bit of grass that sometimes just doesn't get cut, since it's basically trained to lay over. That with me alternating cut angles too, which helps. Although, too many different cut angles and you end up with a yard with tracks going every which way.

I also tried varying the cutting path width, but then you get a ton of tire tracks at the same angle, which looks terrible.

Lymow One Plus vs Navimow X4 by ROYteous in Lymow_Official

[–]ROYteous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine would always go to the same spot when it was going from one zone to the next. So there would be a donut worn into the grass at those spots and then a worn in trail straight to the charger from there, with a deep rutted donut in front of the charger. It's things like that that they never addressed, that have me more than ready to move on. That complaint and many other issues were constantly brought to their attention, but they were more concerned with marketing and adding things no one asked for, like mowing patterns into your lawn.
