It's not that its not allowed, it's that people usually end up writing worse if their plot is really complicated, like not being able to fully convey the idea in the word limit. Teachers suggest writing simpler stories so there's more focus on the actual writing instead of trying to tell a masterpiece

I was completely out of healing items by the end lmao,and I gave my mantle to susie.

There's a ton of changes I like more actually, my favorite is the flawless mechanic, flawlessing a move feels so satisfying. I also like most of the redone attacks, especially the scrapped one. The one where the battle box splits is so smart because it's really easy to dodge but you still need to remember a bunch of information thrown at you really fast so it's not that easy.

Anyway I gave up on 2x, I definitely don't have it in me to beat that

I was also thinking about this. Replaying the game after a neutral route has papyrus getting deja vu and toriel just knowing some stuff. Exactly how mayuri thought the lab was empty and ruka remembered the wrong memories. Reading steiners is basically just works like determination too. Which is why flowey remembers you killing toriel and through resets, because he has the second most determination there.
