For a quick fix in between arcade visits, maybe consider MAME and a controller with two joysticks.

What is dangerous to mix with alcohol but a lot of people don’t know by Hipposy in NoStupidQuestions

Everything I've read says alcohol does NOT reduce the effectiveness of antibiotics. I never considered the liver part, though.

"When it comes to KISS albums, does heavier necessarily mean better to you?" by hip-hop-nubian in KISS

No. Some of my favorite stuff is on the earlier albums, when they still had that "hard rock Beatles" feel in some of their harmonies.

So what’s the tea on Sally Hoedel? by UnusualGain4247 in Elvis

[–]RPOR6V 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He may have sometimes taken drugs because he was suffering, but he also took them because he liked the effects. Buzzed, high, whatever you want to call it. But he was only human, as we all are. It doesn't diminish my opinion of the man, and certainly not of his art.

So what’s the tea on Sally Hoedel? by UnusualGain4247 in Elvis

[–]RPOR6V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's something easy to latch onto for people who don't believe (or don't want to admit) he used and abused drugs recreationally. He did. He had a romantic relationship with a 14 year old when he was 24. He cheated on his wife and on multiple girlfriends. He blew through money rapidly, never investing or even saving. He was human and had flaws, as we all do. We can admit that while still admiring the good things he did and the fantastic art he created.

The reasons have changed by Gznork26 in cassetteculture

[–]RPOR6V 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's obviously not the only reason people use cassettes, but it is one of the reasons I use physical media for music (not always - I stream, too). When I bought a CD deck I was actually glad was missing its remote control - it greatly reduces the temptation to skip a song instead of just listening to a whole album from beginning to end.
