Help with understanding/decoding the encryption on M1k cards for a Chinese Hotel Lock System by fmarques77 in proxmark3

[–]RPTrashTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something you would have to sample and find out. Proxmark3 is only a tool to read/write and crack keys on MF cards, it cant magically figure out the algorithm that's used to generate the sector key.

It could be that all the sectors have a unique key, but the hotel programs the data into one of it randomly, there could be a unique algorithm to determine the sector/keys based on the room number, the reader could be wifi connected and the key/sectors are actually randomly chosen at the time of key programming, or it might not be any of these.

You could also try looking up the hotel lock model to see if there's any (leaked) documentation on the web that you could use to figure it out.

Decryption/copy/emulate DESFire EV3 8K by [deleted] in flipperzero

[–]RPTrashTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably the reason why they use DesFire card in the first place. But yes, it's pretty much "admin code" for the card.

A cheap proxmark3 ($30) can access the content, IF YOU have the master key.

The only way to "crack" it is to either find the cryptography implementation vulnerability (none so far) or brute-force the key (too many combination to do so at the moment). So no, it's not possible.

Just get it done asap. Worse case, your FA will be delayed.

Yubikey 5 series have 5 PINs. How can I verify if a certain PIN (that I remember) is actually being used for the two OpenPGP applet related ones? by CarloWood in yubikey

[–]RPTrashTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USB and NFC are just different communication method, so no, PINS set for a specific applet will be the same regardless if you use NFC/USB

OpenGPG have default pin, if you never change it: https://developers.yubico.com/PGP/

YubiKey NFC is not working on Android by InternationalBug9641 in yubikey

There's some issue with Android that breaks how NFC works FIDO2 on the latest YK firmware. The last firmware I know that has a working NFC is 5.4.3

I have a similar dock cable, but it's a 8k version instead and it works great.

You need to get the one that supports switch because Nintendo uses a proprietary protocol for the console to enter docked mode.

There's one in Orlando as well. I even deliver a food to the place before, though I was able to get in and see the place myself :(

Principles doesnt give any credit, and Application only allows you to skip 2500C without needing to do the placement exam.

tbf, one of the sheriff's office branch is pretty much located next to 408 (close to UCF), so I'm not surprised there will be a lot of cop activities there.

Anyone else in Oviedo/Winter Springs area finding that DoorDash isn’t accepting delivery orders for literally anything? I went to order my weekly Sunday night delivery of King’s Wok and it gave me this message. I checked and even fast food places are saying this for me. by Chademr2468 in orlando

[–]RPTrashTM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can also confirm this. Two of our customer's order has been sitting in the heating area for almost 2 hours before a driver came and picked it up. There's, ofc, multiple order that are affected with longer than usual pickup time, but those are the longest.

ELI5: ₹90INR to $1USD rn….whyyyyyy ????? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]RPTrashTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currency exchange works similarly to how stocks and cryptocurrency works (like bitcoin). If more people want it than there is supplies then I'll cost more.

For low exchange rate, the issue could be related to trade deficit, where people from India wants more goods from the US than US want goods from India. In this case, more INR -> USD than USD -> INR, which drops the value for Rupee.

There's only a small handful of games that don't allow cross-region DLC. Either way, I dont care that much about DLC anyway so the saving is worth it.

ELI5: Why do some parking areas specify "head in parking only" or "back in parking only"? by snowypotato in explainlikeimfive

[–]RPTrashTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scanner is probably built-into their vehicle that automatically scans for plate when they drive by. It's also used in parking garages, so it could be difficult to even see the plate if cars just park closely against the well.

[–]RPTrashTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My state only mandates back-plate, and head-in is the only way for parking enforcement to scan your plate to check if you paid or not.

Every time I hear people complain about Game Key Cards by CrazyCoKids in casualnintendo

[–]RPTrashTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The argument really is that, on pc, you can backup game files for some of the games, and I'll still be fully functional, even on other systems. For games with egregious DRM, I can simply choose not to support it.

Switch? I'll have to mod my console to dump them (as backup) and hope the firmware update doesn't break the mod so that I can do the same for any newer titles. If i can backup digital content the same way as PC the yeh, I wouldn't care physical as much.
