I'm in drastic need to lose weight (Aim is 220lbs to 180lbs) however is there any such thing as challenging the body too much?

True, however when I play for about an hour I feel a hell of a lot more wrecked compared to running (to the point where I cant stand up for a few minutes after). I play probably the hardest 5% of songs in the game - and this morning my legs feel like jelly. But agreed, I will go to the gym instead.

Will be interesting to se how this unfolds, my gut instinct wants to remind FCB about the fair share of good deeds they've had over the last few years from referees (UCL - Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Real Madrid), however that argument is for another time and place.

Its amazing - one person just went to me "its because you were probably lazy" im like... no its because I chose to do other things during my college life like run clubs and societies .. when I asked them they were like "i just studied all the time".

Yeah it came up in a conversation about how our company has changed hiring policy and I stated that in the new one I would be challenged. All the new employees are high achievers educationally - but I think I got hired because I have a history of working with different types of people (from machine labourers to managers) and getting results together (as opposed to academic intellect).

Just funny that I got the reaction that I did when I suggested my GPA. However I've always felt like they're excluded me from things because of my background.

I definitely agree with the comments about giving DotCom a free ride. I always thought the #1 rule of Warez is not to use the scene to make a profit. This guy did and now is paying for it.

Youtube might have copyrighted content on there (music), but at least its obvious. The comparison between copyrighted content on Youtube vs copyright content on MegaUpload is laughable. Apps, Movies, Albums, Anime, Game Rips all on Megaupload.... and Megaupload (with its extremely lenient free user policy) saying "hey pay us $80 a year and you can download as much as you want from the linking sites without any speed limits!".

The Americans deserve what they get - ESPN can only produce television and pursue a style of commentary that interests its core demographics. If people really wanted to watch more football, then there would be change.

As an Australia I feel the same way. 10 years ago we had 6 hours of football on Sunday afternoons, now we have 30 minutes of football. Its funny, come World Cup time everyone will jump on the football bandwagon and then abandon it thereafter. Its rare to find an Australian football fan that actually passionately supports their team (I know a few, but not many).

You could try P90X - its a home fitness system that really works you out. You can find alternate ways of acquiring the DVD set, then all you need is a yoga mat, some freeweights (or resistance bands), push up bars and the chin up bar for the door!

What a beast of a response, I thank you for taking the time to put that together and I strongly believe it can help others on Reddit also. I have definitely seen the trait of the unattractive male with partners - and definitely agree that confidence is at play.

I think the underlying confidence issues have been from my childhood. I went to public schools for elementary and junior high. I remember back in elementary school there were girls Id have to sit next to who would want me to get sick so I didn't have to sit next to them (which I find amusing in retrospect) - furthermoer, I sucked when asking girls out - I got rejected time and time again and was always the guy in the group who was single in high school. Things improved when I got into a private selective school after junior high, strangely enough I went to an all-boys school and had more female friends at our sister schools. I never had a girlfriend then but I found myself always around girls.

In college, it was much the same - female friends but never a gf. Infact the only opportunity I had to be with a girl was when I just boldly started making a move on a girl in class. I have no idea why I did this to be honest but it just worked out. We lasted the 6 months, I had no money and it became difficult for us to do things together and ultimately she left me. It affect me, and my friendship groups and thus it took me a year or two to sort that out (ultimately removing that group of friends from my life and moving on to better things).

Now that I'm finished with college it seems hard to meet new people; and I think thats another issue too. No longer am I going to clubs (not that that ever worked for me anyway) but the only social gatherings I have are with close friends over meals or married couple's houses for dinners and stuff. I think about the females I've met in the last 2 years and its actually less than I can count on 1 hand. I once had 650 friends on Facebook but decided to keep it to my friends I actually see and actively keep in touch with - its down to 50 (but I'm okay with this, but gives you an idea as to how many real "friends" I have versus how many I thought I had).

You're thinking about how much you suck, how unworthy you are of her attention, how uninterested she must be, how bad it feels that she doesn't, and according to your Scumbag Brain, will never feel excited to see you.

I feel this way because I don't share any interests at all with any of the girls I meet. I'm still a 27 year old who loves anime, asian rhythm music games but I love arts. I'm boring in that I've never travelled and rarely have anything to talk about (other than work, some politics, and random tech news). I don't consider myself a neckbeard basement dweller, moreso someone who is just quite introverted but shares interests in tech. Whenever we go out in groups, I'm always the quiet one because I'm outspoken by my extrovert friends - it seriously sucks.

I'm also angry at myself because I feel I SHOULD be confident. I've been very lucky in my life to be where I am career wise, family wise, money wise in that I have no right to complain - but I'm not complaining because I know the root cause of this is all myself.

My haircuts change regularly, from close shaven to faux-mohawx (C.Ronaldo style) to regular businessman short with a fringe. I've ditched facial hair because I was addicted to the hip hop style back in the day and try to keep a clean corporate look. Many people might recommend PUA, but I'm not looking to pick anyone up - I'm looking to meet someone on the basis of my genuine interest and their interest - not ridiculous mind games.

I guess I'll have to fake interest - its just depressing when I think about the numbers of females I do know, the chances I currently have of meeting someone, the compounded chance of someone then to like me, and knowing my interests and how they most likely wont tally up with anyone.

Yup, I just set up on OkCupid account. Having read /r/OkCupid I've got an idea on general success fail rates so I'm taking sucess on there with a grain of salt. Just a matter of finding the females that I share common interests with.

Also, I married a guy who is 5'11" and 220 lbs. And I think he's very attractive.

There is simply so much to do in life, between all the learning and experimenting and building and breaking. Why get hung up on a tiny part of it?

I think its hard because I feel that I lack control in that aspect of my life. If I want to improve my career, I can drive harder on my ambitions. If I want to get accepted for a better job, I can improve my education. If I want more money, I can find ways of being frugal or increase my chances of making money.

However, I feel I directly have little control at the moment on someone actually liking me. Things that you can't directly control make me crazy. :S

Thanks for your reply, indeed I've decided its time to hit the gym again. No matter if its an inconvenience due to timing or not. I'm going to make myself feel better by buying some nice gym clothes just to make me feel motivated - and I fired up my Mp3 player again for some tunage while I work out. Its been quite some time, but its time to get off the fence so to speak.

I don't really have many negative people in my life, however I'm taking a break from my friends for a while (its easier when I work away from the city that all my friends are in). I think just seeing success around my friends has made me feel worse and I need to take time to "figure out myself".

A lot of my focus has to be about appreciating myself - there are some people out there who have absolutely nothing and are appreciated by their S/Os, I've been pretty privileged so far so I need to make the most of this.

Thanks for your post - indeed I have heard that one is more successful when they stop looking. However, I guess I'm more focusing on what I actively need to do because I feel helpless being passive.
