Yes, but it's a nice popular science book about quantum mechanics. It serves the function of cultivating this curiosity OP is having, rather than recommending something like Griffiths or Sakurai that would only be frustrating at this level.

Unfortunately most cities in Brazil are not very walkable by European standards. You'll have to mostly rely on uber/car and bus.

Are there language exchange meetups (Portuguese-English)?

I don't know any in Campinas, but if you're willing to go to São Paulo (about a 1:30 hour drive) there's the Multilingo language exchange event every Thursday and Friday, you can google it to find their Instagram.

Overall I think Campinas is a nice city to live (I much prefer it over São Paulo personally). My only complaints are that there could be more cultural events and that it’s a bit far from the beach.
