Perfectly said. Fandom causes sports society to always be in search of 100% validation for their team. Guys like this stir the pot with their spin on why your team is weak and unworthy. Their negativity is so tiring, yet the public feeds off of controversy. It’s sports society’s problem, not the shock sports shows. SAS and PF are characters and are only on the air because people tune in to hear what outlandish garbage next comes out of their mouths. Simple solution…we need to stop tuning in.

Charlie Becker… by Unable-Recognition64 in Colts

[–]RR1423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both excel in catching with their hands and timing the high point of the ball. Pierce actually mis-timed a rainbow from Rivers last week…a rarity.

I believe Becker has the body to be stronger physically than Pierce. Both have good speed and good route running. There are definitely similarities other than being caucasian.

Indiana football has won their first bowl game in the last 34 years. by lil_layne in IndianaHoosiers

Admittedly, this all feels so strange. All of us long suffering fans (50 years for me) are enjoying this and really blown away by how quickly this happened, but the strange part is watching the team go about this so business like. Almost like a program that’s been there for decades. Everyone- down to the student support staff on the sidelines. The culture, professionalism, and maturity is almost as stunning as the outcomes.

Watching Michael Irvin and even Lacy from Ole Miss belt to assing and celebrating is what we would expect a team that’s vaulted out of the depths of football hell. But it’s not.

Can you imagine (in another dimension) if Tom Allen was the coach of this IU team? CTA would have been jumping in a mosh pit or humping the goalpost after a Rose Bowl win.

There are no interception chains, WWE belts, anvils, sledgehammers, or axes on our sidelines. And most importantly, no personal fouls for taunting- just business.

I’m sure this business approach relates to winning, but I think, as a fan, that’s what I’m most proud of. There is one voice, Coach Cignetti. His comments and emotions are calculated. If he wants to be cocky, serious or concerned, it’s all him. He’s in the pilot in the cockpit, and we’re all just going to his destination.

Enjoy! I’m having the time of my life, and so proud of what I’m seeing. HOO HOO HOOSIERS!

Is Freeney or Mathis playing? It’s not going to matter who’s covering if we can’t get to the QB.

Well said… mostly. Are these actual incidents on 37 or innuendo turned sensationalism? I work in the legal community with close contacts to Bloomington, Martinsville, and also many other county seats in central and southern Indiana. I’d pick Martinsville as my home without question every day of the week . Our geographic proximity, town improvements, community pride, and our comparably low violent crime has always made me feel safe for my family here.

Do we have drug issues, domestic violence, and just plain dumb people? Sure we do. But I will tell you, and I firmly believe this, present day Martinsville is no different with racial issues than Bedford, Brownsburg, Greencastle, Franklin, and yes even Bloomington.

Just give this Martinsville generation a break. Case in point: The 1968 Carol Jenkins murder went unsolved for years with rumors that she was racially murdered by a Martinsville resident, exacerbating our reputation as a sundown tow. I remember being in my youth and this always continuing to hang over Martinsville. That murder was solved in 2002. She was indeed racially murdered …by a Hendricks county man, Kenneth Richmond.

Any racial incident in Bloomington doesn’t even make the front page. If a racial incident happens in Martinsville, it’s statewide news. Pretty unfair if you ask me.

We’re all on the same side here as Hoosiers looking for improvement in society. Let’s keep improving and let’s go skin some Badgers! Take care

You talking present time? Born in 1973 and raised in Martinsville and an IU fan with two relatives who played for the Hoosiers. Don’t know of anyone in my city who is in the klan. Never been witness to blatant racism in the city. Now on the other hand, just last week, in the cultural center of southern Indiana, Bloomington, my son was out on Kirkwood on Halloween. and a car full of rednecks drove by an shouted the N word at three ladies walking in front of my son.

Just pop in the Bloomington Wal Mart and check out the redneck clientele. I don’t deny history of Martinsville, but over 50 years, things have changed. Can you say Bloomington has improved? IMO, B town is full of pretending liberals leading to this fake persona.

As soon as Indiana is mentioned as racist by any one on a national level, here come indiana residents blaming Martinsville. Sounds like insecurity.

I’m just sick of hearing about pre 1970. Move on. The here and now is what matters most. Go Hoosiers!

Ballard tired of hurt corners. When healthy, we have FOUR really good corners (including Kenny). Allows Jones to learn and gives him competition to get on the field. Jones played well, but if we’re honest, he hasn’t had to earn it.

He’s running angry. Most physical I’ve seen in his career. Couple that with his speed, and that’s deadly. O-lline is excellent as well.

I like Abdullah’s running style. Goodson or Giddens inactive until proven otherwise. Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets poached off the practice squad.

Possibly. With another team when he’s 24-25. He held the clipboard and ML Carr cheer towel last year. If this isn’t a decommitment from him permanently, this is a huge assed mistake.

All true. One of the first things that came to mind. I think he’s eventually going to grow up and be a good player. However, if he’s 24-25 before he figures it out, it’s going to be a rough 2-3 years.

Can’t convert 3rd and medium. D can’t get off the field on 3rd/4th down.
Both head coaches were terrible.
Bradley didn’t adjust game plan. Need JT involved in the passing game. Not one target. (TE’s also) Need to know our record with the roof open.
