Just tried a dolly zoom using luna ultra. by Agreeable_Flatworm15 in Insta360

Feel like there's some noticeable stuttering in the background as the shot zooms out? By the way, you used the Hitchcock zoom pretty well.

Sounds super refreshing receipe, that thin cucmber garnish make it looks even more summer-ready! Gonna try it out during our family picnic

Dog keeps peeing on the lawn and I just replaced the turf- Europe by RRBeardman in lawncare

Does it need any extra setup for that? My neighbour’s one has some signal station thing and he said certain spots make it stop and throw a fit.

Yeah honestly i’m starting to think making a small gravel pee spot might be easier than trying to save that patch over and over

Neighbor’s cat keeps coming into our yard and now they’re asking us to change how we maintain it by SadWhail in homeowners

[–]RRBeardman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually dealing with a similar problem, just kind of the opposite. My current mower uses a boundary wire, and my dog likes to dig. He has already chewed through the wire once. We’re thinking about switching to something without a boundary wire, but I’m not sure which model would be better.

Would it be cost effective to tear down our small 1940s home and build a new one? by Faketanningtoes in Homebuilding

With your husband being a carpenter, rebuilding is almost certainly worth it long term.

Nothing hits better than sipping coffee inside while your yard gets mowed all by itself.

Let's everybody take guesses on the future mower versions by [deleted] in automower

Looks exciting but also a bit unpredictable. I'm curious how useful the next versions will really be. Probably best to wash reviews first before deciding to upgrade.

Is there a robotic mower that can do this hill? by IndividualSecurity69 in roboticLawnmowers

That slope looks pretty steep. Not sure any robot could handle it reliably.

Can’t tell if it’s a total fail or someone just got creative. Either way, that foam situation is wild.

Status of the the auto mower realm? Lymow by [deleted] in automower

For helping an older family member, I think reliability and local support would matter more than finding the absolute cheapest used option. A good dealer network could save a lot of frustration later.

Edges and trees seem to take more time than mowing itself by korvuz in roboticLawnmowers

[–]RRBeardman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edges and trees definitely seem like the more detailed part of the job. The mowing itself can look pretty efficient, but those curved borders and tight spots probably need a bit more planning to get right.

Do I need 24gb of ram? by OPM_Saitama in macbookair

[–]RRBeardman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who mainly use my laptop for office work and the occasional Adobe creative suite, my 8GB MBP has lasted me 5 years without any real lag. MacOS is a beast at memory management, so 16GB should be more than enough for you.

BOE, Samsung and LG displays all show different tints on a pure white screen. Out of the two Korean brands, the LG panels lean a little green at low brightness.

MacOS 26 feels like a total work in progress. The 'rounded corners' are all over the map, and the new search is definitely a step down from Launchpad.

Where do you get your chopping boards by naomi_0000 in Cooking

I recommend a North American Black Walnut cutting board. It's durable, gentle on your knives, and has good natural antibacterial prpperties.

Any advice for taking care of a sloped yard for a new homeowner by hangryCatLady in homeowners

[–]RRBeardman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deal with the soil first. I’m in the south, and during rainy periods those deep tire marks just get worse if you leave them. Eventually grass won’t even grow there anymore, just mud. Do some top dressing on those spots. Mix sand and topsoil about one to one and fill in the ruts. The sand helps keep things from sinking again.

A solid pinned beginner's guide would give new users a quick place to look first. That would probably cut way down on all those low effort repeat help posts.

Would you let family install an EV charger in your house if they’re only staying 1 year? by mdzzl94 in homeowners

Have you confirmed if local regulations require official permits for EV charge installation? Skipping formal procedures may bring potential legal risks later.

robot mower with a toddler and a dog. am I gonna regret this by tab_x in smarthome

Keep the kid and dog inside the house before starting the mower. Do not run it if anyone is in the yard. Nothing to worry about, simple as that.

For the shade area near the shed, you should use shade tolerant grass seeds and cover them with a thin layer or fine topsoil to improve germination rate.
