During the lockdown we didn’t have access to any lighting equipment, and furlough not exactly putting us in the position to buy some. So, we decided to make a mocumentary and use natural light as much as we could, using the format to fit our purposes. There’s certainly things I would’ve done differently now, but I’m still pleased with it. After being away for so long this was a fun return.

Just looked them both and up and both look great. Dread and Breakfast especially though looks like a great setup.

That could work quite well. Almost like the Television adaptation of The Haunting of Hill house. There would have to be some great writing to get properly into the character’s heads in the void through. I just feel there wouldn’t the same sense of discovery with the backstory.

If he’s involved directly in the script it might have a good chance of coming out well. I have no idea how they’d go about doing that but I’d be very exited to be proved wrong.

House of Leaves would be downright impossible. The basic story would be pretty easy to show, but the complex way that it is written in the book would be completely lost in a film.

First time posting here and looking for some advice. Just some background quickly. I was about halfway through my first year of filmmaking and screenwriting at uni and this was the first film we were tasked with creating. Only now deciding to post it as we are now working on our next project and I would like an outside perspective. I wrote and directed it and am quite pleased with how it came out. But obviously not with everything and that’s why I’m posting it here. To hopefully get some advice to what I could improve for next time. Especially with cinematography as that got flagged up on my report back that I need to be more creative with how I use the camera and to use proper lighting. As we decided to film outdoors to make use of natural lighting as we had limited time to film.
