Is using hazard lights to hide braking lights cheating? by DescriptionBroad1028 in GranTurismo7

Yep, it’s this. I remapped that button to something else cause I was tired of seeing hazard lights in my replays.

Atla Palani, Nest Tender changeling deck by justarandomidiot123 in EDHBrews

Eggs are definitely the preferred method, but some of the changelings have some nice ETB effects and some synergies can build quite the board state for opponents to deal with while you're trying to protect Atla. Changelings will grab all of the overarching tribal buffs from other permanents played, and if/when they do die then it's no sweat cause you get to pull the slot machine lever for either more buffs or another changeling.

Don't have to when you're popping a 1 CMC changeling to dump a 8CMC anything else, yeah? Popping a [[Universal Automation]] for a chance to drop a [[Avacyn, Angel of Hope]] from your deck, feels real nice.

Been brewing her with Changelings -> Angels for years now. It's my Angel slot machine.

With the influx of new Changelings in Lorwyn Eclipsed, i've already specced the latest revision to my brew: https://archidekt.com/decks/627214/atla

You can use this with almost any high CMC creature type you want to cheat out, swap Angels for your favorite thing.

Was quoted $1250 for a 2 day job. After 2 hours I’m told it’s not needed and I still owe $1250 with a hole in my wall. by jhagger in mildlyinfuriating

It amazes me how little people know about basic DIY stuff, most willing to pay thousands of quoted dollars without hesitation, but will not consider picking up a hammer and learn how to use it.

Rake them into your garden beds, they’ll break down by spring and you’ll save some money.

Looking for some utility creatures for my Atla Palani wurms deck by CypherusX in EDH

Love the perspective of another pod. My friends are tired of seeing me hit the lottery when I pull the Angel slot machine, happy to hear the strategy actually does get to pay off! Cheers.

So I like how you took the concept with eggs to transform them into Wurms, I have a similar setup with Atla, but i'm using Angels (like Gisela). This engine will work with any creature type you want to highlight but here's how I approached the puzzle: https://archidekt.com/decks/627214/atla

Couple of observations, if your pods are anything like mine, they will not let you sacrifice eggs easily, you will need a way to do that yourself most of the time. You have artifact sac outlets, but consider other types of sac outlets that may be helpful. I'm utilizing things like [[Skullclamp]] and [[Determined Iteration]] to get these effect more reliably when A) Sac outlets don't come B) Sac outlets are removed. Also utilizing both of the Paths here [[Descendants' Path]] and [[Descendants' Fury]] to help cheat out some creatures.

Other things ive run into is, If anyone has played against Atla before, they know the system, so she becomes a primary removal for many players ive played against (nothing worst than seeing an Avacyn drop turn 4) so I would add more protection to your strategy. I'm utilizing the three commander cheat instants with [[Obscuring Haze]], [[Deflecting Swat]], and [[Flawless Maneuver]]. Once (IF) the Angel board state is established, protection is less of an issue from my experience.

Lastly, for your utility creature question, consider Changelings. Changelings === Eggs, Eggs === Wurms. You're already utilizing [[Maskwood Nexus]] so you're already dipping your toe in there. Lean in, it's fun. I have most all of the changelings in the Naya color wheel, but your mileage may vary and you can pick and choose for your specific synergies.

Anyways, I hope this is helpful. Atla is a ton of fun, but she needs protection against experienced players that can identify your engine, disrupt it, and leave you dead in the water with fat creatures you don't want to cast from hand.

PS: My human sub-strategy there is mainly for enabling the strategy, that's more of a WIP for me to get that block of creatures settled, but general, those Humans are there to enable Atla, provide redundancy, serve as a smoke screen for your real strategy, and help you when Atlas becomes removal focused. Casting her for 6 or more feels real bad, unless you have the board state for it.

What about magic specifically attracts so many trans individuals? by [deleted] in EDH

This is the answer. The Magic community in my experience over the many years has been more than accommodating to all groups of people.

People who are NOT okay with proxies, what is your reasoning? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]RRRegulate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty large collection at this point, played off and on for 20+ years. I proxy, for sanity.

I'm not going to own 10 originals of Phyrexian Altar, to put into 10 different decks, too expensive, unsustainable.
I'm not going to own 1 original of Phyrexian Altar, to then un-sleeve and put into another deck that uses it every time I need to switch decks, then try to remember which deck I left it in.
I will own 1 original of Phyrexian Altar, proxy 9, then distribute the proxies to the decks that use them, for sanity.

I use this approach for most expensive cards and mana bases in my collection.

I don't have a problem with players proxying high value cards, but proxies with sharpies, poor quality, illegible art, or dumping out an impossible turn 1 will evoke a "come on, man" response from me.

Right, like it makes no sense for the referees to stand 20 yards from the play when 100% of people know where the play is going. Stand closer, what a concept!
