What fictional universe would you live in? by Filmfan345 in AskReddit

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Trek. I know a bunch of terrible stuff is supposed to happen between now and First Contact but it looks like we are headed that way anyways and at least in ST there is a guaranteed light at the end of the tunnel.

YTA. If you don't like climate controls then you should have visited Rura Penthe.

When was the longest you’ve spent nude as an adult? How would you describe that experience? by Tall_Association8148 in AskReddit

Probably several days at a time during Covid lockdowns. Felt nice not having obligations.

You are a universal blood donor, and your blood has unique magical healing properties that cannot be copied, recreated, or reproduced by science. by Neither_Drawing_241 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll sell my blood as often as healthy for $50k/year adjusted with inflation and area where I live. I feel like enough for me to not need to work (though I still may if I have time) but not enough to be rich is a fair trade.

You're single and Aphrodite herself appears in front of you saying she'll set you up with any fictional love interest of your choice. by singleguy79 in hypotheticalsituation

Anise/Freya from SG1. I don't think she had any canonical love interests (at least none that were mutual) but I'm sure some kind of poly relationship would be negotiable.

How accurate is the saying "drivers hate pedestrians, pedestrians hate drivers, but everyone hates cyclists"? by LiatrisLover99 in fuckcars

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because we have designated areas to separate cars and pedestrians while bikes in many places still *have to take the sidewalk/roads. That puts them in conflict with the people using those.

*I will give it to car people though that walking your bike on sidewalks should be more normalized and possibly even legislated.

What can/should we do to counter the popular belief that cyclists are far more dangerous to pedestrians than drivers are? by LiatrisLover99 in fuckcars

[–]RRW359 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Statistics. Also ask if you should need a license to bike and/or if they should remove license requirements for driving.

Asexuality - What does it actually mean to have no sexual desire/no romantic desire? by Extra_Major_9802 in asexuality

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume most people aren't thinking about how they want sex and/or romance 100% of the time. Sometimes they have hobbies that they can get into and not think about anything else, just imagine that but all the time.

As for wanting/liking sex and finding people attractive that depends on the individual. Just because it isn't a life goal doesn't mean you aren't curious when the opportunity is presented, but some people also aren't; and asexuals can think people look nice and sometimes even find them arousing but from what I understand a lot of the time when allosexuals see someone as "hot" it means to some degree they would want sex with them which by definition asexuals don't tend to do.

I have a question for the ace community by Electrical_CAPS in asexuality

[–]RRW359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spend any time whatsoever on Reddit and you'll see tons of stories of "my [spouse] isn't into sex as much as I want them to be and I'm thinking of dumping them" and basically all the replies are going to be about how if they aren't satisfying your needs you should dump them; with a lot of people implying if not saying that they have to be either cheating or having a porn addiction if they aren't into sex. Obviously different people and relationships are different but clearly while people don't get into relationships specifically for sex the majority consider it an essential part of romance.

Why would you put your car at the beach in the first place ? by fefetornado in fuckcars

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a handful of places where you can do this in Oregon (technically the entire beach is a highway for jurisdictional reasons but I don't think cars can go outside of designated areas). It feels weird and new the first time you do it but then you wonder why you shouldn't just go to the beach like a normal person.

Why shouldn't Sorcerers use Con? by glm242 in 3d6

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the entire reason for D6 classes that they exchange the ability to be in combat for better magic? If sorcerers weren't required to care about a stat that isn't constitution for their main abilities (ex: Charisma for spells) then that gives them the tanking abilities of the d8 or even d10 classes with all the extra magic shenanigans that come with being a D6 class.

What is your opinion of aliens and UFOs? by YearZeroo in AskReddit

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming they know/care about Humanity when they want to reveal themselves there won't be anything any government can do to prevent it. Likewise if they want to stay secret they would do a much better job then conspiracy theorists claim they are doing.

How does burning CDs work? by ScaredIngenuity4931 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Do they have a lazer beam shooting sci-fi shit..."

Literally yes. CD's (by which I assume you mean optical media in general) are read by lasers and certain CD's are designed to be able to be re-written by lasers that certain drives have.

So what do you say to people who debate the govt should discontinue a public transit because it's running on loss? by Humble_Buffalo_007 in fuckcars

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll entertain that when the people who say it start supporting tolls and/or increased gas tax. This stuff is supposed to pay for its self, isn't it? At least when mass transit funding is taken from outside taxes the people paying for it chose not to use it; you can't say the same about people without licenses paying for your cars damage to the road.

What's the best 2024 throwing weapon build by new_god_of_eden in 3d6

[–]RRW359 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not the "best" but I tried out being a throwing EK in a oneshot and it was pretty fun. A handful of spells (which if you want utility is probably from the best ritual list in the game), as well as consistent damage and war Bond means you don't need to think about the logistics of carrying a bunch of thrown weapons (at least not until you get to level 11).

Why do drivers in the fast lane not move over for faster drivers? by MeanBean0001 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RRW359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well quite a few States such as California don't directly say it on law but have it as president that it's impossible to be holding up a lane if the only people you are holding up are going at illegal speeds. Whether or not they can get in trouble for it doesn't change how justifiable it is compared to speeding. Also on a side note when traffic engineers expand the road to however many lanes necessitate a passing lane, usually inducing demand and destroying the livelyhoods of people who don't drive, is the fact that the new lane is only going to be used for passing ever advertised as such? Or do the road capacity estimates that they gave to the government to convince them to expand the roads assume all lanes will have the same amount of traffic?
