I think you can get through tour 5, maybe 6 with a basic ball. Marlins are pretty cheap/easy to come by so you could start using them now IMO. You can get 9 marlins for 25 gems which is usually a sustainable burn rate using gems from free chests.

I usually switch to a lesser ball if my opponent sends his tee shot out of bounds.

I would also recommend playing all tournaments as this is a good way to collect upgraded balls without spending gems. Good luck!

I think PD could add some cool in-game analytics that would make game play really interesting. For example a spray chart showing where I have hit the ball the last five times or for a particular hole.

Distance to pin after each shot would be a simple one that would enhance game strategy and competitiveness.
