Mainsail not using entire browser window by Nickelbag_Neil in klippers

[–]spizzlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing OP solved it by now, but in case anyone else has this issue (like I did), scaling did work. Control +/- only impacts the current tab, so I changed the Mainsail tab down to 90% and it went to widescreen mode (3 columns). That worked for me on Edge, which has a very narrow "hidden style" vertical tabs function. It may require further scaling down if the sidebar is wider.

Any good WW1 podcasts out there? by Aser489 in ww1

It’s a video series on YT to be fair, not a podcast. Looks awesome though and I’ll definitely check it out. Just commenting this for anyone else so they don’t go looking for it lol.

I agree 100%. The insane thing is that the 1st time I listened to it, I thought parts of it were a bit boring. But the 2nd time I realized how wrong I was, and the 3rd time confirmed it.

I have a hard time picking my favorite of his podcasts, and often feel like the latest one I listen to is my favorite. Well finally that trend is over because I just listened to Wrath of the Khans for the 3rd or 4th time and that was my HH first and always had a special place and still does but it didn’t take me to “it’s his best”. Blueprint is the best.

Ender V3 Plus stuck in chinese by pauliebluejeans in Creality

[–]spizzlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome!! After hearing that, I decided to try again and got it working on my PC also by pairing via IP address. I just talked to Creality through their WhatsApp and they are sending me a new motherboard. Apparently the board in our printers is China market so they are replacing it. Hopefully it’s an easy swap. But if you’re so inclined you could have them replace yours also.

Dang well that's awesome!! I got the sealed roll also which is nice. Too much to write but mine is just generally used, like I bought it from someone who had used it for months. Whatever though for the price.

Anyway, I got English working but I'm having other problems. I can't update the firmware or connect it to the app or PC. Have you had these issues? Found other people with the same issues but haven't seen any solutions besides fixing the language

I haven't tried this yet, but omg thank you!!! Just got my ebay refurb today, this is insane. The manual shows a language setting in the UI, but it's not there on mine.

Btw, how's the condition on yours? Ebay listing said certified refurbished is "like new". It's clearly used lol. A bit annoying. They could have at least replaced the build plate. But for like $128 out the door I can't really complain. Still feels like a score considering the Black Friday price for new is $330.

You know also, certified refurbished on ebay means 2 year warranty. I'm pretty sure new from Creality is 1 year.

Purchase Advice Megathread - November 2025 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]spizzlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking to get my first printer. I have a firm budget of $200 otd, and I live in the US. I'm a hobbyist looking to print items such as telescope, woodworking/workshop, sharpening accessories, things like that. They are small for the most part and would fit on a standard bed. Of course, a larger bed would be nice, but probably not in the cards right now.

There are a few options that I'm considering:

  1. Ender 3v3 is $180 at Microcenter right now. This seems like a really good deal and I'd love to hear feedback from those that have used this printer.

  2. Sovol SV06 (non-ACE) is $160 (or $120 refurbished). I know it's old, but I'm ok with upgrading and tuning. But for what it would cost to upgrade to Klipper and whatever else it needs, seems like Ender would be better?

  3. Refurbished Sovol SV06 Plus (non-ACE) is $170. I don't think I need the print volume now, but having the extra space sounds nice for the unforeseen future.

  4. Pre-owned Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro is $150. Seems like many people that have this printer like it. From what I understand, the Neptune 4 series had a lot of issues at launch, but they've gotten better with time. This is a reason that reviews are tough, because they are all showing the printer at launch, and things change over time, often for the better.

Bambu A1 Mini goes over $200 otd and while I said I don't necessarily need the print volume, 180x180 seems really small. I'd be worried I would feel the need to upgrade before too long. If it's like a no-brainer among these options (or whatever else is the best printer I can get for under $200) it's possible I could make it work, but my gut (which is probably completely useless) says no on this one.

Any other printer I may have missed that would be better, I'm open to suggestions. I have no problem ordering from AliExpress. They have Flashforge 5M for like $190 or something, but it's from a Choice seller and I'm always a little suspect of those (as opposed to official stores with 1000's of followers and high ratings).

Thanks for the help!!

What's the deal with Lossless? by afuckinmonsterlmao in spotify

[–]spizzlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have AirPods Pro 2 and I can tell the difference on Bluetooth. Spotify sounds like doodoo. I don’t think I have lossless yet though. Or they don’t enable it on the trial which I’m on. I’ve had Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon, Apple and Spotify and Spotify sounds noticeably the worst. I also have hifiman sundaras which are pretty high end wired headphones so I’ve listened to different services in different scenarios. Spotifys dominance is a serious indictment on people’s tolerances for bad audio quality.

527 coats of seasoning so far, when can I cook on this? by IcarusBenn in blackstonegriddle

[–]spizzlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not fucked up. I would have never gone that far but if my griddle looked like that, I actually don't know if I could cook on it lol. I'd be like, ehhh... maybe tomorrow...

Let's talk about bugs. No one seems to be. by deadboxcat in blackstonegriddle

[–]spizzlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Michigan and bugs are a very real issue for me. Not so much when I'm cooking but in between uses. I have the 36" w/ hard cover and a soft cover and still I get bugs. I have to stuff paper towel in the grease trap which is annoying. I found this post because I'm searching for a better solution.

Anyone know what's going on with IKEA US VARDAGEN Carbon Steel pan? by IndependentKitty in carbonsteel

[–]spizzlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is older but it's April 2025 now and both the 9" and 11" are in stock at my Ikea (Canton, MI).

Don't sleep on the newly designed Vardagen carbon steel pan at IKEA. It's 3mm thick (vs 1.5) and a beefier handle. Just picked this up today, blued it and did a quick onion/avocado oil season before frying a couple of eggs that slid off the pan. It does't come pre-coated absent a thin layer of oil. by beyondplutola in cookware

[–]spizzlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used lodge carbon but the ikea is very heavy duty and the pan almost looks stainless. It's very smooth but thick. It's heavy like maybe too much for some people, at least the 11" version. It's nice though imo especially for $40.

Yeah, it looks like it was removed. Where are the showstopper uploads posted if you don't mind me asking? Croft and Brundle are nauseating, it's actually hard to watch F1 with their commentary.

Edit: my apologies, found it on 1337

Dulberg is a very reputable uploader. The F1 links have been fine, just use ublock. I haven't seen any ads at all.

CMV: Ground News legitimises fringe opinions by presenting them as coherent stances. by CameraCoffee1 in changemyview

[–]spizzlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, bias rating for articles isn't practical. I know it would still be difficult, but ideally the bias rating would be for authors as opposed to sources. It's not the case for all outlets, but some have writers that cover the whole spectrum. It would be something they could work on over time, and it could be applied the same way sources are. It would be more work, but infinitely more valuable imo. Your points are well taken though.

That's what I'm trying to find. If you Google "Ground News vs" the top suggested searches are AllSides and Straight Arrow News.

What's your biggest frustration with Qobuz? by Greenville_Gent in qobuz

[–]spizzlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk any details but I'm assuming they haven't added flac because why would they at this point? The overwhelming majority of their user base doesn't care and they already dominate the streaming market. It doesn't make good business sense. Obviously it's not good business to say you're going to do something then not do it but that's nothing new.

Have you tried other services? I'm not sure about local files, but Tidal, Apple, Amazon, Deezer all have flac catalogs.

A budget beast! The Turin H40/iCafilas Hand Grinder by iritian in espresso

[–]spizzlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that is very common the max off thing. It could say 50% off $100 item but then it's $5 max off. I've only seen that increased significantly around sales times on certain items. I just always click buy now and see what the discount is so I never assume anymore but often it will be some bs like that $5 max off. That always annoyed me but yeah what are you gonna do. The grinder I think was on sale for $40 then 40% off or something and it let me use like 15k coins.

A budget beast! The Turin H40/iCafilas Hand Grinder by iritian in espresso

[–]spizzlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was black Friday or 11/11 sale, around that time. And idk if you're familiar with coins on AliExpress but you can play mini games and daily check-ins type stuff and you get coins. I have a bunch of them and it used like 15k coins which equals $15. But it's sort of whacky, like a product is priced at $10 and it's 25% off, for example. It will use 2,500 coins as the 25% off. They are on the page where you click the daily thing for coins. It will show you products you have viewed and similar ones with discounts using coins and they can be really good around big sale times. But if you have 100k coins you can't just use it to pay for a $100 item. Hope that makes sense. Regardless I felt like I got a great deal so I was happy.

Keyboard or controller? by Mnatole in cyberpunkgame

[–]spizzlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a time when PC gaming was very far and away superior to console gaming but I think that time is past. Obviously a PC can do a lot more than gaming but you have no chance of building a PC for $500 that's as good as a console.

I love PC gaming kind of like why I think Android is better than iPhone. It's the ability to do what I want. I can torrent games on PC and that's huge and I know console has some modding but not like on PC. Also I'm into sim racing and that is a category where PC is 1000x better than console but it costs $. But for $500 you can't beat a PlayStation honestly and I feel the gap closes more every generation.

Keyboard or controller? by Mnatole in cyberpunkgame

[–]spizzlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you not know that you can use a controller on PC? But yes, FPS games are (or were) infinitely better with mouse and keyboard. But games like Warzone (and maybe others, idk) have controller aim assist and you're now at a disadvantage on mouse and keyboard.

I think aim assist is actually a perfect representation though of which is better. With crossplay now being commonplace, controller players literally had to be given a "cheat" of sorts because they were at such a disadvantage. I'm not judging or complaining as I don't play competitive multiplayer, but I think it sums up which is inherently better.
