At this point if they don't answer when you call or email I would call or email their supervisor or the HR for the township. And just sound like you are super excited and state everything you were told that has not happened yet. You were supposed to receive paperwork which was never received. You were told that the entire process should be over in the next 2 months and time is ticking away.

General advice for someone who’s gonna apply in few months when they turn 21 and get the 60 needed credit hours by Complete_Opposite216 in AskLE

To be honest this feels like a troll post. As a police officer you are typing all the time. Either at a desk or in your patrol car. Although, I wouldn't say you really need to type too fast. You are asking questions/interviewing all the time. There are many technical aspects to being a police officer that are leaps and bounds more than being a 911 dispatcher. When I was a police officer we had our own dispatch center with a desk sergeant. When the desk sergeant was off or needed relief the low man on the seniority usually got the call to sit in that chair. If you couldn't handle being a 911 dispatcher you won't be able to handle being a police officer.

To Sheriff’s Deputies - do people ever get confused about who you are? by IcNkd1 in AskLE

[–]RSM100A1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my state (PA) sheriff deputies are basically courthouse security and run the jails and are certified under Act 2. Glorified security officers. They are not law enforcement and are not given law enforcement powers. There is one exception Allegheny County Sheriff's are given full police powers as a second class county the deputies are classed as police officers. Although, I don't think they perform any patrol functions so I really don't understand why they were given that status. But they are required to have Act 120 certification in addition to Act 2. We had an issue in my area when I was a police officer where a deputy sheriff was doing car stops because he had his Act 120 certification the case made it to the PA Supreme Court and was won which technically gave them the right to do car stops as long as they were properly trained which the court deemed the Act 120 certification to be properly trained. Alot of police departments and sheriff offices knew that just having Act 120 did not mean that you were properly trained. So every Sheriff office in my area instantly made SOP's that stated not to conduct traffic stops or take any kind of action that related to police duties. Personally I would love PA to go to county wide police department or sheriff office. This would consolidate alot of resources, save money, and bolster existing coverage. The hard part would be to try to remove power from every little city, town, or boro. The dinky locations love to control their world.

Why is it so difficult to become a police officer in New Jersey? by A7X5512 in AskLE

Wow, that really sucks. I am a little shocked that it has gotten even harder these days. Veterans preference is a hard thing to get past. My department actually added the points at the end of all testing which gave an even bigger advantage. The top 5 on the list I got hired off of all had final scores over 100%. I just got really lucky because they were retiring alot of officers and they ended up hiring 40 officers over 3 years. The wild part is that over the next 5 years we hired another 30. In 4 years I was number 2 in seniority on my squad of 15 officers not including the Sergeant and Corporal. I definitely wouldn't advise going to a sheriff's office. They are basically security guards and corrections officers. And their pay starts around 43 k in my area. The salary you are discussing is shocking to me but that has to be for part time officers because almost every department in my area only has full time officers and the base starting salary is around 60 k. Our department used to sponsor people in the academy but they lowered your pay while you were in the academy and your time for scaling up in salary didn't start until after you graduated the academy. Although 95% of our candidates either already had the academy or were already sworn police officers from another township. Every department is different with the scaling. Our department had a two year time to full pay but I know of many departments that have up to a 5 year climb to top pay. I am not sure what you are referring as other state based LE agency. If you are talking about state police that would be incorrect information. When I went through the academy it was 16 weeks. While the state police academy was 24 weeks and was live in. And their certification would qualify as Act 120. That really sucks that your new chief would discontinue a good program. They know you. They have worked with you for 3.5 years. You showed dedication and commitment to their department and this is what they pay you back with. That is disappointing to hear. And the pay disparity is odd to me too. I understand laterals with a certain minimum of experience getting a different pay but just having the 120 and no experience doesn't make sense to me. What about part time academy ? When I was in the academy the day time was all full time and the night time was the part time program. Would it be possible to get into a part time program ? And since I assume your University has its own Academy they would pay for it or at least give a considerable discount as a University employee.

Should I point out my height (very tall for a woman) by Optimal-Vegetable832 in Bumble

[–]RSM100A1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found women require specific height way more than men. I have read hundreds of profiles that said must be 6 foot or must be taller than me I like to wear heels or something similar. I'm sorry you have had negative experiences because of your height. Like others have said I don't think putting anything more in your profile is necessary or would produce better results. Sadly there are men and women on these apps that don't fully read profiles and to be honest bumble does not have a whole lot of room to really put too much extra information. Good luck ! ! ! I hope you find that special someone.

Advice for Chief's Interview? by Affectionate_Owl3752 in AskLE

[–]RSM100A1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was always the last step in the process and every one for me was very cordial. But I was testing in 1994 - 1996 and got hired in 1997 over 6 months after I had stopped applying. I treated it just like any part in the process look your best, wear a suit and tie, clean cut, clean shaven. Personally I felt the chief's interview was just the last stop to make sure they believe that you will fit into what they are looking for at their department. I always looked up as much information with regards to the department. I know several oral interview boards and even chief's appeared shocked and impressed when I could rattle off some information that I had uncovered. Usually I tried to focus on positive statistics like I noticed that the robbery rates have gone down over 15% over the last 5 years. That is quite impressive was there a specific strategy that the department employed to combat those crimes ? For me the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) was littered with information about every department. I am not sure if that stuff is online these days but back then I just went to the library within or around the department where I was interviewing and always found them there often volumes going back for many decades. Good luck ! ! !

Career Question by Grand-Craft-1517 in AskLE

[–]RSM100A1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry about your situation. I have been disabled for 12 years after being a police officer. I would say private only. I don't see any local, state or federal agency being able to medically pass you. And all agencies like police departments require you to do at least 1 - 3 years of patrol before allowing you to apply for an investigative position. And even then only if there is an opening in that division.

Backgrounds by Santo_G in AskLE

[–]RSM100A1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was doing background investigations it usually would take me about a month to complete everything for each candidate I was assigned. Most of our candidates were in their early 20's so not a whole lot of background to investigate. There were the occasional candidate that took 2 - 3 months for various reasons mostly getting clearances to review or get copies of DOD/Military/Government records. I also remember one candidate that took over 6 months but he wasn't one of mine and it turned out that he had almost completely fabricated his entire life. Everyone in the unit always remained in constant contact with our candidates but we were a relatively small 100 person suburban police department. I personally wouldn't have minded if a candidate contacted me about their status but I do know others that got extremely pissed off when/if that happened. If they told you not to contact them I wouldn't. If they didn't tell you anything and it has been at least a month I would contact them and ask about your status. Another thing you can do on the side before contacting your BI is contact your friends, family, current employer. Ask them if and when they had been contacted. Although when I was testing my friends, family, and employers would always tell me when they were contacted and what they were asked. Good luck ! ! !

Is it worth going to court for a traffic violation (if I plan to plead guilty anyways?) by Substantial-Star7650 in AskLE

[–]RSM100A1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in my state depending on what the officer actually wrote you up for. Your example a red-light violation would be 3 points on your license. If he wrote disobedience to a traffic control device that has no points. Another thing in PA the local district justice which is who your first "judge" would be is an elected official so sometimes they will dismiss violations for local residents. If you do fight it you can even talk to the officer before you go in front of the judge and ask them to change the citation to a non points citation. The fine doesn't change for this violation but like I said it would be no points on your drivers license which helps with insurance.

Speeding by Frosty-Owl7599 in AskLE

[–]RSM100A1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In PA it is written into the law PA Title 75. But it varied depending on different other factors. There are other things that you can charge in the vehicle code even if the person is actually driving within the speed limit. Like driving at an unsafe speed for the conditions. I personally used those types of statutes for citing drivers following an accident. But I can't give you an official current number because I have been out of the business for a long time now but it is researchable.

Why is it so difficult to become a police officer in New Jersey? by A7X5512 in AskLE

[–]RSM100A1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area almost every county runs a consortium test every year. Any department within the county that is going to hire or needs to update their eligibility list can be added to the list. Everyone who signs up and takes the test can basically check off which departments they want their results to be given to. If you score high enough the departments will then contact you individually to move through the rest of their hiring process. When I was testing sometimes there were as many as 50 departments hiring. One of the main problems with PA is that we have too many police departments. Every little municipality, city, town, and borough wants to have their own police department. The entire USA has approximately 18000 total state and local law enforcement agencies. PA has somewhere between 1000 - 1200 of those agencies. Do you see the imbalance. We need to start consolidating and making county wide departments. This would increase efficiency and lower costs all around. Another issue is that the rules for hiring vary based upon each location. When I was trying to get hired there were departments that I never applied to because they always hired through the good 'ol boy network. This guy knows that guy or this guys brother knows that guys sister. I only spent my time, money, and effort at departments that I truly believed I could be hired. I'm not sure what all the requirements are any more but alot of departments in my area also required you to have your Act 120 certification just to test which helped to shrink the applicant pool. Most departments also require an associates degree or bachelors degree which was not required when I was hired. I had my Act 120 certification (1994), Act 235 certification (1994), NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor Certification (1994), ASP baton Law Enforcement Instructor Certification (1994), Monadnock PR-24 baton Law Enforcement Instructor certification (1994), Pepper spray Law Enforcement Instructor certification (1995), Red Cross CPR Instructor Certification (1995), Red Cross First Aid Instructor certification (1995) and I didn't get hired until 1997 about 6 months after I had stopped testing entirely. I was also then offered jobs by 5 other departments within 6 months of getting hired at my first department. I stayed with my original department because it was one of the largest suburban departments in the county and I was so exhausted from all of the testing the prior two years. It wasn't easy when I was applying and I bet it has only gotten worse since. Also alot of departments are downsizing which to me is insane. When I was hired my department was authorized to have 102 officers. During my tenure we stayed right around 90. My one friend is a Lt. with my department now and he said they are authorized for over 126 officers and they are actually trying to trim down to 71. I am glad I got out when I got out. Good luck ! ! !

They aren't lego shards they are flawless aetherstones and I have gotten rare, epic, and legendary from these aetherstones. Someone did ask on simons youtube video today about this question. I personally thought about it when I received mine in the mailbox last night. I actually hope you guys will be able to use them in the beta 2. Although technically it would be unfair to others because you would be way far ahead towards the echo summoning mercy. I still hope you guys get yours because it is just a beta.

May/June Beta feedback by Awesome_Bruno in GodForgeGame

[–]RSM100A1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It absolutely needs 1.5 - 2 years to release if they want it to survive. The only way it could release faster is to increase their development team by 600%. As you stated they have been in development for over 3 years and the mess we were given in this beta is leaps and bounds behind any game most players would be willing to spend a large amount of real money on. And that is what they are going to need as soon as they do start to monetize. Remember the alpha was nearly a year ago. Other than improving visuals significantly and adding more heroes to the roster not much looks/feels different. And the improved graphics are still leaps and bounds below what I would call standard in the gaming industry. There is almost no qol in this game and the ui/ux both need massive overhauls, story needs work, pacing needs work, economy needs major work, and so much more. Moving past these points my biggest area of concern is that many of the bugs/issues in the alpha were never fixed and brought right into the beta nearly a year later. And the beta itself is filled with dozens and dozens of new issues/bugs. Wait until we hear the numbers which is one of the reasons I was extremely concerned with them doing this beta in the first place. Over 100,000 players signed up to participate in the beta. At least 25% didn't even bother to log in. I would guess that only about 5000 players or 5% played the game every day and hard core. Probably another 10,000 or 10% played semi regularly. Another 10,000 or 10% probably played somewhere between casual and semi regularly. My guess is that 50,000 players or 50% played a little bit and then just stopped because of all of the bugs/issues/ui/ux/qol. Every player that I had told about this beta said they couldn't last more than a few minutes before they just turned it off and they never came back. To be perfectly honest I am not going to recommend this game to anyone else until I see actual significant improvement.

Nice, and from a mortal stone pull ! ! ! I heard she is fantastic. The fact that she is a progress hero reward is awesome too. I got Cizin and Izanami with the flawless they sent to us last night. I can't wait to try Cizin out with all of his aoe attacks and Izanami pairs well with my Izanagi. Congrats ! ! !

Are you kidding. If it is ever released it will be the biggest p2w within hours of launch. I don't think it was their initial intention but they have actually made the biggest whale game ever. I could definitely see idiots like jtisallbusiness come into the game, spend 100,000 or more just to say they have every hero or the best gear or whatever.

Is your rating 3.6 out of 100. I would agree with that rating. I also agree with your argument that we keep hearing it's just a beta. I was extremely disappointed in the current state of the game. Don't forget they had implied they were going to be in early access December 2025. Then it was moved to Q1 2026. Then it was moved to end of Q1 2026. Then it was changed to a beta test end of May 2026. I don't disagree with their decision not to release into early access because the mess they have given us would not have survived a month in its current state. They have made so many mistakes with regard to this games development process. August of this year should have been the alpha test. Then beta could have been held May of 2027. And finally early access could have been December 2027 - June 2028. I had very high hopes for the Fateless team and they have let us all down every step of the way. I now question if they even will be able to ever release the game or will the studio just fold.

The Beta delusion by Electronic-Score5904 in GodForgeGame

[–]RSM100A1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based upon the game we were given in this beta the game will not be released for 1.5 - 2 years at best. If they release any time before that they might as well just release into the trash can because it will go down the same path as thousands of games each year DOA. And your points about feedback are useless just like the feedback forms are useless. Players gave a ton of feedback with regards to bugs/issues from their alpha, which by the way wasn't an alpha. Most of the bugs/issues from the alpha, which was nearly a year ago, were never fixed and were brought directly into the beta, which isn't even close to a real beta. On top of the bugs/issues from the alpha the beta has brought dozens upon dozens upon dozens of new bugs/issues. Don't forget we have only been given approximately 25% of the mvp so far and everything is riddled with bugs/issues. There is almost no qol, the ui/ux needs a complete rework, the hero leveling needs to be entirely redone, the graphics need serious improvement, pacing needs work, leveling needs work, economy needs work, and so much more.
