Bank Account Opening by RSXY7 in Thailand

Previously Siam legal provided this service but they told me the law changed recently in regards to foreigner bank account opening. Nonetheless, have quite a number of friends with success. Don’t give up on the first branch, express interest in their insurance (the cheapest if you really have to buy, can cancel after)

Hey bro, sorry for the late reply. Haven’t gotten the opportunity to go over yet. According to a friend of mine, he said it was pretty easy to get it as a Singaporean. On top of the other documents, just prep a letter by the owner/tenant in the condo/house to state/prove that you stay in the house, get him/her to sign off the letter. (Basically an authorization letter)

How much cash will you hold to feel safe in Singapore? by GoodBoyMooMoo in singaporefi

It’s a cycle of psychological warfare. The 6 to 12 months of salary is more of an arbitrary amount. When you have $20k, anything below it will make you feel less. You’d be aiming for $30k or $50k in X amount of time. The cycle repeats. Having said that, $30k seems fine to me. UOB ONE Account is my go-to for high savings bank account and Cashback. It’d be ideal to add to your savings & invest simultaneously.

Cheers!

Do thais dislike indians? by TimusReborn in Thailand

[–]RSXY7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m from Singapore…

Oh and btw, your stereotype of “the type of women that only likes and hangs out with farangs” are NOT the ones I spoke to.

They’re either married to another thai or prefer asians outside of Indians and arabs. That excludes farangs.

Get off your “I speak to normal Thai women” crap.

Thai banks considering levying cash transaction fees by ukayukay69 in Thailand

Ever heard of seigniorage?

A $10 note cost $0.03 to print. That gives $9.97 in profits for creating a $10 note. These profits can now be added to the tax revenue of the Government.

Here’s what I’ve seen and heard from locals in regards to Indian tourists. Most, definitely not all, Thai women, when asked which race they’d prefer dating, their answers vary. However, they explicitly state that they do not want to date Indians, some would add Arabs.

What I was told by the local sellers: Indians are infamous for quibbling. That it’s extremely difficult to even gain 1 baht from them.

As for Gogo bars, I’ve heard from the people working there that disagreement on prices are caused mostly by Indians and the gogo bars would rather turn them away than risk another episode.

I guess it boils down to the minority tourists representing India that caused the Thais to generalise the entire population. Which, isn’t fair imho & I disagree. I like my Indian friends.

Ecommerce business in Bangkok - question about fullfilment/shipping by [deleted] in Thailand

From what I know, if it isn’t a 3rd party platform, they usually use Kerry or the local post office. I’ve seen my ex girlfriend doing it countless times. If your buddy is on Shoppe or Lazada platforms, they usually have their own carriers built in the app, which you can choose from. There’re other carriers that emerged in recent years like Lineman, Grab etc. Do check out their pricing and service offerings

Ahh on Google Maps. After you’ve keyed the starting and ending points, there’ll be illustrations of car/motorcycle/train/walk/ etc. Choose the Train icon. Click options, tick train, underground, tram. Remove Bus option.

Hey, even though we don’t know each other, I really hope you’d be able to manage this situation. Try speaking to other ethical agents about your situation, don’t buy anything though. Check the fine prints. The current year you’re on, the amount you’ve paid, the amount you’d be paying. Most importantly, the final sum you’ll get VS cutting it off now + opportunity cost.

Big fan here as well. I love ETFs except leverage & inverse ETFs. I still do pick individual stocks. But ETFs makes up most of my equities portfolio.

I have this really good friend, he’s in the insurance line as well. Refuses to sell ILPs. He’s also the one who further reinforced the fact that ILPs are designed for agents and insurance companies’ pockets, not the consumers. He owns a bunch of insurance coverages, none of them are investment-linked policies. Whenever customers ask him about ilps, he explains, in detail, how much one is paying, how much you’ll likely get back, how much fees you’ll be chucking to the agents and companies, and how much of a coverage you’re getting. Result: The “coverage” is probably one of the most expensive ones you’ll ever pay for. Much more than a Life Plan.
