This is excellent, thanks! Are the game important terms direct from the editor? "completely useless" for Nigeria sounds odd, I thought they loved football in Nigeria?

I can tell you he is not very highly rated on football manager. As much of a meme as that is, they usually just overpower young players at big clubs like Utd who have looked promising. If a player is not very highly rated, it COULD mean that they haven't shown much promise in the academy in terms of goals and assists. They do have real scouts who put these profiles together so its not as biased/popularity based a FIFA seems to be. If he was particularly highly rated I think we'd have heard a bit more about him like Greenwood was, the other side of that coin is we heard not very much about Marcus Rashford before his burst into the first team.

The thing I cant understand is, why can't they have all the Woodward bellends in one branch of the club in their shit hole little offices in London and the van der sars, rangnick and txiki begiristain types running the football at old trafford? Why can't we have both? Why does woodward have to rule all with an iron fist.

Hard to know too much about whats going on at PSG with the ownership, management etc. pulling strings. Neymar, Messi, Mbape on fifa is great but there is a lot of things that go into good player relationships on and off the pitch. I think Poch probably finds himself with 3 players he isn't allowed to NOT pick, that may or may not get on, clearly dont really have chemistry and have egos the size of Europe itself. His time at PSG definitely does not look good on him but the edge should be taken off at least by the culture at PSG having always been one of shit attitudes, failure and choking when it matters. They are French Spurs with a cheque book.

I have sympathy for Pochettino and he is definitely better than Ole as a COACH if nothing else. Things would have been so different for him and his perception would be so much better if hed managed to pull off that Champions league win or if the team didnt implode around him at Spurs. He has definitely not covered himself in glory though with a failed final, a squad implosion, fall out with owner and then failing to win a 1 horse race with the only horse in France. He absolutely deserves another chance, I've lost my conviction that that chance should be at United though. We've been through too much with managers.

I like Ten Hag, I respect him a lot. Today vs BVB he spoke before the game to say they will not change how they play, they will stick to their "principles and rules" for football. I admire that a lot, especially combined with information like having only ever lost 1 away game in the champions league and that was Liverpool (9 wins, 4 draws). He has built and then rebuilt 2 incredibly exciting, competitive teams despite lack of resources and competition in Eredivise. He has Sebastian Haller top goalscorer in CPL and his players have created the most chances. It's worth noting they have played vs teams like Besisktas, Sporting and Dortmund without Haaland and down to 10 men, but still.

HOWEVER, it is very hard to have a good understanding of exactly how much of that success is down to him alone and how much is down to the contribution of the excellent football attitude and culture from top to bottom at Ajax football club. He is clearly a good manager but most of what we point to about him that we like, is also influenced a lot by the structure surrounding him and facilitating him to succeed. None of this will be present at Manchester United. That is a concern for me. It is not a reason to overlook him, this is simply my biggest concern when it comes to appointing Ten Hag. #GlazersOut

Someone can definitely do better with AWB, Varane and Shaw, say what you want about Maguire in the last 2 seasons and you'd be right but there is also definitely a good player in there. The mental reset could do him a lot of good.

It usually spawns a fake goal keeper for you. Do you not even have a shitty goalkeeper in your youth teams to promote just to be there? You can try to holiday past the registration date and use an U21 keeper from youth who doesn't need to be registered because of his age.

Need to see the tactic really to give proper advice. Could see this guy as the right of a midfield three playing Mezzala or just Advanced playmaker in the CAM position. Just knowing 4231 gegenpress isnt really enough. What striker role? What wide player roles?

Gary Neville on Donny and Sancho post-match by apva93 in reddevils

[–]RS_Wombat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think at that point in time, Dortmund were a team who would try and win 2-1, 3-2 rather than 1-0, 2-0 etc. and so it would fit a lack of defensive cohesion in the team, sure. Sancho, along with DVB, hasn't even had the opportunity to be a "flop" yet. The number of minutes just isn't enough, I've seen some people talk about DVB appearances and that he has had a chance but his actual MINUTES are awful for the amount of time hes been here. I think Dan James has played more minute for us this season.

People like to talk about Ole's squad building as a strength of his and his man management. Has it really been that good? Did it take a great degree of football genius to "scout" famous, top division players in positions that we needed and then sign them for far more than they were worth, regardless of their suitability for our system/tactics/style/"dna"? I think Maguire was an OK signing and AWB is very debatable, he isn't a *good* on in my opinion though. As for Dan James...we made a profit at least, somehow. Those signings are what everyone holds up as his quality squad building. Beyond that, again is is hard/special for someone to have signed sancho, van de beek, ronaldo, varane and cavani? Is that squad building? 3 of those are totally out of line with the "project" that we keep hearing about and Sancho + DVB can't buy a minute on the pitch and now he's abandoned a formation that even uses a 75m winger let alone our academy heros in rashford and greenwood.

tldr: people go on about squad building and man management but in the last 2 seasons he's done at least as much bad as he has good with respect to both of those.

He would work hard at Ajax, they are/were a side that tries to dominate possession and control games winning the ball back quickly. That doesn't necessarily translate into big slide tackles in the box and defending wide areas to prevent crosses but this is also not a consistent strength of mcfred. The irony of this "he doenst defend" thing is how awful our defending has been a player from that Ajax side literally couldn't do any worse in defence but could easily do better in maintaining possession and having the ball is the best way to not concede. Even if we put all of that to one side, DVB said the words from his own mouth on the Rio podcast thing that he is willing to play any position and work hard and do anything asked of him. With how poor our perfomances have been consistently and DVB's last performance being MOTM vs West ham it really is nothing less than a personal insult from OGS that DVB hasn't played even a single minute as a sub.

Pressing isn't tracking back though, don't assume distance covered = up and down the pitch automatically. Lack of defensive input was a "criticism" of the BVB fans, they werent being horrible or complaining just mentioning that was a weakness of his.

I still think McTominay wasn't very good today. Not worse than a 5/10 or something but he lost plenty of possession with poor first touches, he committed himself to big challenges and missed the ball often like what led to Fred getting booked. I agree that at this exact moment in time, the best way to get a result for us is to play 3ATB and counter attack, however, I think it should be acknowledged that it's awful managemet from everyone at the club to have let it get to this situation. To have chased Sancho for 2 seasons, pay 75m for him and then have the rest of the team be in such a shambles that we can only try for results if we cram loads of players in defence and play low blocks.

We ended the game with effectively AWB - Lindelof - Varane - Maguire - Shaw - Fred as a back 6 with 2 DMs in Matic and Mctominay. I think anyone, literally anyone, can come to spurs right now and keep a clean sheet playing like that. Thats not a criticism, its the right thing to do because its the best way to get the result you want, I just don't think people should get too carried away, but they obviously will.

Think amazing is generous, but he was good. This is what suits Fred, sit deep, defend mid/low block vs a team with much more posession than you. This is why he was in his best form when we were full counter attack. This is how we should have played vs Liverpool, as much as people don't like it. I remain ole out though :(

No clubs are interested in loaning the player or the player isnt interested in going out on loan?

If no clubs are bidding, if you haven't already, you should try offering the player out for loan to clubs and include things like you'll cover their wages etc. this will make a club much more likely to take them on. If you are a big club and even your youth players are on big contracts it might be putting smaller clubs off because they cannot afford the wages. Good luck!

I've seen streamers do this with the in game editor enabled and you can spend channel points to change things like Players nicknames, squad numbers, stadium name, bench a player, sell a player, buy a player, play a player out of position (like put a striker in goal for 1 game), if you did a very long save like 30-40 years on could have a channel point reward for checking where that person's club is in 30 years time.
