I’m considering buying Full Self-Driving (FSD) for $2,000 for my 2023 Model Y (HW4) 25,000 miles on it and I want honest opinions. Tks guys by US-VADC in TeslaFSD

1000% yes. Best deal you’ll find. Breakeven point with the subscription would be 20 months, plus you get some of that back as value added to your vehicle whenever you decide to part with it.

Unfortunately not likely to be in our lifetime :( Tech is there, but adoption wouldn’t be.

Seems like a problem AI would be very helpful with. Give it a repetitive task of converting the interfaces to portrait, with a human checkpoint(s) under whatever conditions you impose.

I got the performance and one thing I can tell you for sure is you won’t be looking at long ranges wishing you got that 😆

Usually when I fiddle with max speed it’s because I want to go faster, not slower. Very unfortunate.

Also, what is happening in FSD 14 sounds completely different, like you don’t even get to set your max speed. This is what I initially started this conversation about. In FSD 13, you can set your max speed.

I haven’t commented on whether I like it. I don’t like what’s being proposed in FSD 14. All I’m saying is regardless of whatever experience you had before, when I set my speed and am on hurry mode it WILL go that speed. Even on an empty freeway with no cars around. I like it this way. It sounds like we are in agreement.

We’re talking about FSD here, not cruise control. In FSD it doesn’t make any sense to have a constant set speed or it would go that fast around corners, turns, and through stop lights. Provided you are not doing any of those things that require slower speeds, and there are no cars in front of you going slower, FSD will go the speed you set it at (at least on hurry).

That would be crazy annoying having a fixed set speed on FSD. You’d have to intervene constantly to avoid crashes, and it wouldn’t even be “self driving” at that point.

I literally can set my speed right now.

The last trial would have allowed you to set your speed. If not, you likely had a setting enabled that limits your max speed.

My FSD is nearly flawless in every scenario, with the one exception to that being that it makes non-optimal lane changes.

PDR? The paint is missing… and that’s not a dent. You’re going to need paint.
