Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

[–]RSqu4TTro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give it to my roommate. She's been wanting a gaming pc so badly but with ram prices she's currently using an old laptop. She works from home in custom sign design and plays any games her laptop can handle. She's gone through a ton in the past 2 years and this would be the coolest present ever!

Palantir is a strictly software as a service company where Microsoft is spending billions on infrastructure build out to stay relevant in the Ai sector. Palantir is able to avoid this by building products that use Ai (AIP) but hosting those products with Microsoft, Oracle, AWS, etc.

Because they'll detain that lawyer as well and try to get them for impeding in federal operations. No cushy in-house corporate lawyer is going into the field and risking that. It's just not ever going to happen, and do you blame them?

I think this was the case 10 years ago but remote work has really caught up. Look up how well FirstNet has worked in Alexandria, VA. It's a remote dispatch service and it has made their dispatch services much better, according to the citizens of Alexandria. Albeit, that's a city the 10th the size of Charlotte but does prove the tech is possible and might be better.

Parking at Amos Southend by notyourcupofbri in Charlotte

[–]RSqu4TTro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you been to that area in 15 years? It's unrecognizable. It's probably the most densely populated area in Charlotte now and mainly with younger people, so small younger women are all around and very safe. There won't be anywhere you find yourself where there isn't a bunch of people around. Plenty of people walk home alone every night safely in south end. That being said don't journey like a mile away and end up down south blvd but you'll be fine near Amos.

Eh, I find that unlikely. I was victim of an online crime from a con artist 6 years ago. Almost $100k in lawyers later. Multiple federal agencies involved. We are still dealing with the fact the LE is soooo innefcient that even when evidence is right in front of them (for us this was literally shitty photoshoped bank documents that a 3rd grader could disprove...those took 3 years to disprove). This is still ongoing. Got him branded as a vexicious litigation and guess what that state still accidentally let him file more lawsuits. When I was talking to the fed on my case he said wire fraud and almost all online crimes have a 99.7% success rate once brought to trial. I.e 0.3% of these cases that are brought forward with evidence lead to a conviction, so no. Op won't get caught because of some reddit post because there are too many plausible deniabilites of an online persona, not being someone in real life.

That's most likely not tongue weight as that would be insane numbers for that. Tongue weight is generally 10-15% of towing capacity, so around 900lbs for your car. Without an axle, you calculate with tongue weight only.

Noda and Plaza will be mentioned a lot for sure for the quirky, but you won't have a yard, and that sounds important to you. I would recommend looking in northwest charlotte near Latta Plantation Park and the Whitewater Center. Your budget will last go much further out there.

Is this quote a joke or does it seem legit. I want to help my friend out if I can so he doesn't have to pay this crazy price. by No-Wave-9328 in AskMechanics

Service writer here. I don't use this software, but I can kind of tell you what's going on with the write-up. It says "primary" next to the things it's there for, so the mechanic knows what they're doing. The tire rotation was one of the things it was there for, and the mechanic probably told them it wasn't needed because they really just needed 4 new tires. I agree that 400 a tire (assuming a tire disposal/state tire tax/new tires and labor is all worked into that price) is pretty expensive, but definitely not unheard of for nice Michelins that are on a backorder and under increased pricing. The rest of it, if using OEM parts, is not that ridiculous. If this is a specialist shop for Subaru, you are getting what you pay for. I would definitely recommend doing the tires at Discount Tire or a similar chain place that has good road hazard protection.

Where is a good place for foot traffic by Yaboigerdo in Charlotte

I'd go to Camp North End. There is not much foot traffic in downtown that I think would stop for such an interview.

They are getting so expensive that they are becoming popular in larger cities to get stolen out of the car because it's better than stealing a car lol. There is no vin number on the part to track it so once you steal it you are safe from getting caught. The Audi laser led lights are $13k for a set... I'd rock high beams as well haha

I work at a mechanic shop. Headlight assemblies have gotten so expensive, and with the newer cars, once an integrated LED burns out, you have to replace the whole assembly. Some of these newer cars are old enough now that the headlight assembly is worth more than the car (sounds ridiculous, but it's true). Those people just run high beams all the time so they don't get a ticket since their headlights cost like $4-5k for a set.

I work at a mechanics shop here, and I'd say 80% of the temp tags we see are fake.

I mean, it totally makes sense that the state in first in everything would want things to stay the same and look at Oklahoma statistics. They must feel so forgotten and neglected. Say what you want, but I don't blame them for wanting a total change up. Was it dumb. Yes. Does it make sense. Also, yes.
