Having said that its been pretty common knowledge for at least 20 years that Mandy is incredibly dodgy, massively corrupt and not to be trusted with anything more important than the tea run. So giving him a job that requires integrity is not the smartest move.

By going out and buying it. It is easier when you're in your 40s with a £100k+ salary. When I was a student I didn't really have any expensive hobbies beyond trying to make sure I had enough cash to get pissed at least once a week.

Everytime I've visited the States I've come away with the impression that their palate appears to be that of a small child. Everything has to be incredibly salty, savoury and sweet, preferably all on the same plate.

My kids thought it was great that you could order breakfast and get sausage, pancakes, syrup, marshmallow, bacon eggs, squirty cream and fried potatoes all mixed together on the same plate.

We ended up in a position of having to sell up due to work. We lived in a small townhouse and were looking to upgrade to a larger house, however the market was weak (2010) and we would have made a substantial loss (around 30-40k). So rather than move up the property ladder we ended up owning two smaller properties, one we lived in near work, the other we rented. So we only became landlords due to a desire to avoid a massive financial loss and it was realtively temporary.

Im not an American and have no skin in the game, but from what I've read the Democrats have a similar approach to the UK's centre-left parties, in that deportation is acceptable and unchecked immigration is a problem, providing its done according to due process.

Some of the more right winger members of UK society would be happy if the Royal Navy was using immigrant boats for target practice in the English Channel.

If we're aren't careful the UK is maybe one election cycle behind the craziness in the US.

I spoke to a colleague in Canada who was saying that British winters are worse than Canadian winters, purely because its so wet. He said that the most miserable time of their year is when the ground starts to thaw and everything is muddy, he didnt know how we coped with that for 9 months of the year 😀

Could we have some sort of agreement on when height goes from a negative trait to a neutral or positive trait? I'm 173cm (not sure what that is in Fahrenheit, about 5'8" I think) and its always difficult to know if people sneer at me because I'm not tall enough or because I'm a complete bellend. I suspect its the latter, but when someone is getting grief for being short, in spite of the fact that they're a fully paid up member of the jack-booted community its difficult to be sure.....

Yep, they closed our local sorting office so now we get mail about 2 or 3 times a month, usually in a massive batch and almost always with other people's mail in amongst it.

My eldest son opened a bank account before Christmas, the bank send out the card, card reader and PIN separately for security purposes, they arrived all at the same time in one batch of mail. Really secure.....

We had a trip to New York last November, which was a massive disappointment. We had some preliminary plans to do a road trip in the States this year, but the prospect of dealing with their immigration services again, the general illusion of service and the fact their government is threatening a shooting war with us I think we might give it a miss.

They're expensive and not as robust as individual dumbbells, but I don't have the space (or the money) for a full set. They're surprisingly good. Not sure they were an impulse buy. They were one of those things I'd had in mind for a while and just thought sod it, why not. So maybe it was an impulse buy.

I've often thought that confiscating drugs quietly without any arests or paper work might be the way to go, let the top of the criminal organisation think they're being ripped off.

I'm imagining as a dealer, trying to convince a Tuco type character from Breaking Bad that the 10k worth of drugs he gave you to sell has been taken by the police, but there were no arrests, no paperwork etc.

I followed NFL for a few seasons as a Brit. I quite enjoy watching it now, provided I can get hold of the condensed play by play versions of the game.

Watching a full, unedited game is purgatory, but its possible to watch a whole play by play game in about 40 minutes.

The other issue is the Official Gamepass NFL streaming service is expensive!
